--Teams that play us always go nuts cuz they have nothing to lose

--18-19 year olds take time

--I cant listen to all that noise or I'd be under my desk

--Giving staff more responsibility worked

--Still have not peaked

--Monk, Bam, Isaiah, Dom all gotten better

--Wenyen in gym 1 hour early working on grabbing balls with both hands

--Gotta get in gym on your own and build your own confidence

--So we start with a brand new team and they really dont knoe each other

--Took opponents 15 games to figure us out...happens every year

--Then we adjust and get tougher

--Every year...by March lets play our best basketball

--Had a great practice today

--Every team we play is on a roll

Cal is the best coach you could ask for at uk. He makes mistakes as we all do but he admits it and does an outstanding job!

--Think about all the players those guys have played with

--Mychal...just takes JC kids a year

--Watched tape of UF game and he played great defense...he stretches the floor

--All 3 great kids and repped UK very well

--Have good hearts...all 3 gonna start Sr nite

--Cal talking about the Oscars flub last nite...I wouldn't have given the trophy back LOL!

Caller: Line drive driving straight in lane and Derek doesn't move well without the ball....needs to move more....Izak needs to shoot the outside shot

Cal: Izak makes 70+ shots in 5 minutes and misses 4-5!

--Why wouldn't you shoot the ball when you're open??

--Derek not great underneath but had 9 boards last week....stretches the court

--Trying to have Derek at top of key

--Giving asst. coaches credit

--When I'm on the airplane I watch tape

--I gotta do other things besides hoops or I can't last here

--Everything I do outside of hoops makes me a better coach cuz I get different ideas and perspective

--I try to be as transparent as I can

--You might not like me but you know about everything I do

Twitter question: Have you adjusted practice time yet cuz getting near end of season?

--Every team different ....'14 team we practiced harder at the end

--We take 2 days a week off between treatment, film, massages etc

--Need fresh minds and fresh legs in March

--Try not to overwhelm them with video

--Usually go 1 hr and 15 mutes this time of year but this team needs more right now

I think that might be my favorite thing about him. I see other high profile coaches that never admit to making mistakes. Throw players under the bus. Lash out at the media. Make excuses. Lash out at and berate officials and use their connections with certain media members to have fluff pieces written on them or hit pieces on rivals to try and distract from their shortcomings. I'm embarrassed for them. That stuff is for fans. Head coaches getting paid millions should be presenting themselves better.

he takes the blame even when it's not his fault - he protects those kids
I know it drives us crazy sometimes (saying kids are sick/hurt when there is a suspension) but that is who he is

Yeah I would be disgusted if cal had acted like pitino did. Cal is an amazing person.
