Ultimately depends on how teams in other conferences finish up. And of course, we can't lose. Probably even need to make the SEC title game.

If we win out, we don't need much help.

UVA should be behind us. If we beat Florida, we should pass them. That moves us to 10.

Either Arizona or Oregon loses, dropping them and moving us to 9.

Then we only have one team to pass.

My money would be on Florida St., with UL still a firm possibility.

I think it would take more than 1 loss to move Oregon or Arixona off that 2 line, they are firmly in there.
Louisville has some tough games coming up, they could slide.

Anyone nervous about @ aTm? I think we take UF at home, especially since Egbunu is gone. I don't fear Vandy or Mizzou.

Name the 2 seeds ahead of us??? Fla state?? UL? Virg??? Please
Um, okay.
-Arizona
-Baylor
-Oregon
-UL
-UNC
-UCLA
-Florida State
-West Virginia

I know you'll just say they all suck, but that's just because you live your life looking through blue glasses and you don't understand how this works.
UK is a 3, with a LOT of help they can get a 2, but they aren't a 2 right now.
That's a lot of teams to jump. Some of them can sustain 2 losses and remain a 2 seed. So, keep that in mind when you're starting a dozen threads a day about all these teams that suck.

Ucla and West Virginia were not ahead of us in the pre selection show.Plus I doubt Florida State is after some losses.

How would you know that? "Firmly in there."

Right now, Oregon, us, and Zona are 7, 8, 9 in RPI.

They are behind us in other metrics.

Oregon has 6 top 50 wins. We have 5. Zona has 5.

And Zona is already on the 3 line.

What I'm saying is that we are a win over UF away from being 10th. Arizona is 9th. Why wouldn't we pass them if we win and they lose?

Barring some strange losses, one of those teams probably holds a 2. But if we win out, we should pass the other one.

Which will leave us only needing one of the ACC teams to slip, or for Baylor to collapse.

Vegas has us the sixth or seventh favorite overall with 12 to 1 odds. I say they know and that should make us a two seed today. Certainly if we win out since we're already in the top 8.

I should introduce you to the fine people that make up the committee. They're a riot, they show us just how funny they are every March.

The teams ahead of us on the show as number 2/3 were North Carolina,Florida State,Louisville,Oregon,Arizona,Virginia,Florida.

Florida State and Virginia are struggling,we beat Florida and handle them in Rupp,Louisville plays North Carolina and Notre dame,Arizona has UCLA.We actually don't need much help if we win out.

I'm just going by what they've already laid out.

We know where we are and we know what's in front of us.

Win out, and we have a better than average shot at a 2. Will we win out? No clue. But I like our odds a lot better after tonight.

The caveat is that there are three teams behind us with outside shots at passing us even if we win out. But they have even more work to do than us.

Seriously?
Texas AM has an RPI of 96. They have 12 losses. They have no one that can go off like Frazier did tonight.

We go in there and win by double digits.

Should not even be a question now
Really hope you are right, but afraid it is too early. We just seem to have a way of disappearing occasionally.

Great win tonight in an extremely hostile environment (and I certainly include the officials).

Yeah, we went from the favorite to 7th favorite. Which makes sense, considering that we almost certainly won't be seeded better than 2nd.

The math wasn't going to work.

Hopefully, but you never know what you're gonna get on the road. I also haven't seen them at all this season.

UNC will prob move to the 1 seed in the South for now. Cats could definitely move up to a 2 if they win out. What is interesting is Cats may be better of being the top 3 seed versus the last 2. Remember if Baylor is ahead of us one 2 line we got knocked out the South.

Also, can any teams snake us? Duke for instance. Who else?

I think in theory, Duke, WVU, and UCLA could snake us.

WVU is the most far-fetched, but they still go to Baylor and could play Baylor and KU again in their tournament.

Problem is, our best upcoming competition is Florida, and the committee knows they are down a key guy.
Teams like Oregon can lose at UCLA or Arizona and stay right where they are. Same with UCLA and Arizona. If any of those teams lose on the road to one of the other two teams, they won't fall off that 2 line.
Same with Baylor. They lost to KU at home today, but they are probably still a 2 seed.

The committee seems to look more at our negatives, but they look at the positives of teams from stronger conferences.
Tonight's non loss (a win was expected) was huge for us. I still think we can get a 2, but the SEC really hurts us. We are looked down on because of this league.

Wva is a 6 loss team now. Florida st to. Baylor now has 5 losses as does UNC who will be a 1 seed. UL will lose at UNC giving them 6 losses. The odds are actually very high that if we win out we will be a 2 seed.

And I don't mean winning the sec tourney. I think we could win out reg season and get to sec semis and be a 2 seed bc all of those teams are going to beat each other again

They have better wins.
Sure, they may have 5 or 6 losses (we have 5), but their SOS is tougher. Can't just count losses.

UKs SOS is top 10 or so.
Sure it will take a hit v Mizzou but it will go right back up after we play UF.

Those other teams in line for a 2 have some very strong numbers. We need them to lose more games.
Our conference kills us, if it's a tossup between us and a BIG12 or an ACC team we will be on the 3 line. We all know this.

I'm getting really sick and tired of the Louisville media. They have barely slipped by 3 mediocre teams in a row. I mean mediocre to bad and 2 at home. They act like they are a 1 seed. While UK blasts 2 of their last 3. 3 teams almost identical but we have issues? Giving up 90 at home to Virginia Tech and they are a national championship contender? We beat VT at home 94-90. Lachlan McClain and Andy Sweeney would say we are an NIT team!!

Ulis is dead on. We are a lock 2 seed and quite honestly. We win out and teams ahead of us flounder. Why not a 1?? Louisville should not be a 2!! These close calls they should drop. Why is No one penalizing them???? Thankfully they will get exposed at UNC Wed. They are heading for a free fall in My opinion. Their defense is way overrated. While ours is getting better. Today was a set back. However, our ceiling is so much higher then theirs it's not funny.
