BBN, our guy up north needs a little support. The IU folks want him gone and are getting restless. Let's give him a collective vote of confidence. IU fans need to understand it is a PROCESS and it is only year 9. These things take time. Crean is the best thing for IU. Another 9 years, who knows, maybe a couple more sweet 16s.

IU is in the same state of affairs we were under Tubby Smith. Just getting by and hoping to make the field. I think he needs a few more years and I support IU to do the right thing and keep him around.

Of course Crean may pull a Tubby and leave in the middle of the night. If his agent can find another team for him. Is Minnesota looking?

Crean will take RP's place. Crean is a mean machine. He has two things that can't be fixed and that is ugly and stupid. Crean will run for fun after almost any bun. Crean was raised by a family of monkey's that is why he falls all the time. Crean frequents strip clubs; therefore he will replace RP. He is an @$$hole another reason he will replace RP. Both love loving in fast food joints and in the women's bathroom. Crean will never be Bobby Knight, thank God.

I would never be accused of being a Tubby apologist, but it is laughable to compare Tubby at UK to Crean at IU.

With that being said, Tom Crean needs to stay at IU for eleventy-billion years. He is the perfect coach for that program. They couldn't possibly do any better, so why try?

The point was, after 1998 UK never had a chance for another NCAA title with Tubby Smith as coach. The same can be said for IU's chances with Tom Crean. I hope they keep him and I am sure they thought the same about us when Tubby was our coach. Keep the Tub and go down the drain.

Sure, but there are a lot of coaches that never have a chance at a championship. We never missed the tournament with Tubby.

Crean has missed the NCAA tournament 4 times in 8 seasons, and it's about to be his 5th miss in 9.

He had a chance with the bogans squad and the squad that lost to UAB. We were the best team in the country those seasons under tubby. We just happened to get screwed like always come tourney time with the bogans injury and we straight up blew it against UAB. Tubby was definitely a disappointment come tourney time but we had the best team those seasons so can't really say we never had a chance. The chances were there. Just failed to capitalize.

Found this gem today. Since the inception of the Big Ten Tournament in 1998, Indiana has NEVER won the title. They've only been to the championship game once (2001). I'm confident Crean has a great shot of fixing that this year. If not, he certainly will next year.

I for one think he should be given a lifetime extension. Because, as we all heard over and over and over, Tom Crean is doing it the right way at IU. They do not care about winning. Only winning the right way.

Turns out, he is a freaking weirdo. It may not be a week from now, or a year from now, but, mark my words, that dude is a creeper. There are some creepy, serial killer type things going down with him. It will come out. And we will all say, "man I knew that dude was off".

But, as stated, all these things make him a perfect fit for IU. Keep him forever. Name the gym after him. He will bring the "movement" to its apex and bring home the title.....................eventually. Just needs another 15-20 years I am guessing.

If he were to "leave" you know they will be going after Brad Stevens hard and then Alford as his back up. If either could keep the top in state talent home they would be pretty good.

he man is a great coach and an even better human being. He is an excellent ambassador for Indiana. Yeah I know he can't keep any talent in state but that's no big deal. He should be given atleast 5 more years to turn it around. He has an excellent eye for talent as well og was a 3 star player and if he were healthy he would be a lottery pick this yr. plus you got bryant but he will go pro after this yr. he beat ky in the tournament last yr and beat them in 2012! Indiana fans she be begging for a crean extension as he's the real deal and has put a ton of talent into the NBA. He's a future hof coach and should be rewarded for all the banners he has hung while at Indiana. Keep crean as long as possible, hopefully atleast 10 more years. The guy is amazing and does an amazing job. Furthermore he married into the harbaugh family and they are all winners just like tom crean

Hmmm. Tubby won 3 SEC Championships (the real kind of conference champion, not the tourney champion). He went into the tournament as the #1 overall seed twice. Went into the tournament as a #2 seed two other times. All after 1998. This comparison makes no sense.

I too thought it was time for Tubby to go when he did (or actually a couple of years earlier), but your statement about 98 being the last year he could've won a title is just erroneous. We went to the Elite 8 the following year, as we also did in 2003 and 2005. Any of those three teams were capable of winning the title. It just didn't work out. Hell, the 2003 team won 26 in a row that year. We just were unlucky with the injury to Bogans and Wade having the game of his college career.

I have to disagree. We had a heck of a shot at winning a NC the year that Bogans got hurt. Until then we were one of the top 2-3 teams.

Get rid of Crean??? Crazy talk! You give that man a real vote of confidence with a long extension with a lot of guaranteed money and the recruits and their families will stop thinking the program is a time bomb and the sky is the limit.

Yes sir! That's the ticket, first class, and going to where you dream about at that. Yes sir, that is the ticket for sure!

He was comparing Tubby's last few years with where Indiana is right now, and he's right. The difference is Indiana is sticking with him and Tubby saw the writing on the wall and left.

Well, if it was just "back luck" where are the rest of tubby's accomplishments? Surely if it were just luck of the draw a coach of his stature would have shagged at least one by now, right?

They actually did feel the same while the had Sampson. Everyone was nice to us. "Tubby is a great coach" speeches every time a rival stepped foot over here. Anyone rememeber NCAAUCoach? Prime example.

Is what it is. Not gonna get into a tubby match, Tubby was better at UK than Crean has been at Indiana, but there's a few similarities, especially in tubbys last few years, and what would have been the couple after he left.

Marshall and Bennett would kill in Bloomington. I'm sure IU would screw up that hire, though.

Crean is a joke and will be gone soon. If they don't make the tournament this year say Good-bye.
