Heard it driving into work this morning on Gio & Jones. Good for Izzo. Dakich calling Mich. St. fans whiny and dumb and saying they couldn't get in to Michigan. He needs to stfu and just worry about calling the games and forget about the students.

I think Dakich likes trolling and says things tongue-in-cheek to get a rise out of fanbases (he admitted as such about UK fans), but he's going to get himself in trouble with people that don't realize that/expect more out of an adult professional.

I may be in the minority but I actually like Dakich as an announcer. He seems pretty fair and kinda calls it as he sees it.

But, although I have never listened, his radio personality seems to be quite different. He appears to have settled into the "shock jock" approach of just being as outlandish as possible. The same thing seems to go with his online and twitter personas as well.

You gotta assume the doucher just completely craves attention and will say/do anything he can to get it--good or bad. You would think his employer, ESPN, would not allow this sort of thing. But maybe they have no say in it. There is a distinct difference however in his announcer persona and his radio/twitter persona. That kinda tells me it is all just an act for attention. Maybe not. JMO.

His radio show is very caustic-very abrupt-no manners and very quick to cut people off. Its an eyeballs-listener number kind of thing. If he didn't call people morons (and most of the people that call radio shows are morons with nothing better to do) nobody would listen.

It's one thing for a talking head to act like that, it's another when they are actually calling games.

No way should ESPN be ok with his act. This isn't the XFL.

He admitted that he likes to troll certain fan bases whenever he is bored
Yup, and he is the one that has to have his head on a swivel any time he leaves the house now.
There are some crazy/passionate fans out there.

I think Dakich supposed knowledge of the game is over-rated. Those who think because he played and coached for Knight automatically makes him a genius are wrong. It does probably make him a pompous ***. He makes some truly dumb statements and arguments. Now whether he is trolling or not is his problem. A lot of his rants are moronic. Give me Kara Lawson or Sean Farnham all day.

Spent several days last year slamming UK basketball after the loss to IU, even slammed the UK women's team. LOL When IU lost the following game as expected, Dakich blocked the UK fans who were teasing him. Big baby.

If I recall correctly, didn't DD's kid play for UM? That might have something to do with him wanting to take cheap shots at Sparty.

And his radio show is very very right winged!!!...and thats prolly not the smartest approach considering whats going on in Washington these days. I cant stand Dakich..always so negative.

That sounds about right from what I hear. I do not care for that type of "persona". If your name is not Howard Stern, then you are just an unoriginal douche bag who is trying to make a buck off other people's ignorance and incompetence. TBT, Stern is not really doing that kinda stuff anymore I don't think.

I literally cannot listen to any of those call-in shows. Even as a kid, when Jim-Bob from Grayson would call in and whine about Reeetchie not playing enough, it just drove me bonkers. It is a combination between embarrassment and disgust, and that feeling has stuck with me thru the years. Even if it is some other team than UK. I have to change the channel immediately or I get shivers. Haha

The guy has a lot of natural "troll" in his personality and I think many of his tweets come after some cocktails which make it worse.

Dan will troll any fan base just to piss them off. He should be trolling IU fans under the circumstances.

Exactly. I mean, they STILL think they're an elite program...

And the pants....

And their coach with ridiculous facial expressions and mannerisms

Would rather listen to him than dicky v, jay bilas, that Farnham guy, and basically anyone else besides Kara Lawson. Plus when you're watching him and you just assume he is drunk as hell (he probably is) it's quite funny

I don't mind Jockich as an announcer, if he sticks strictly to the game. Unfortunately, he cannot do that, and it is all the peripheral crap that I dislike.

He's fine when he does games but this internet trolling is so childish and he needs to grow up and stick to the actual games.
