I think they were moving that thing so some kind of movie theater/entertainment complex could be built. My question is - who gives a **** about preserving a bank built in the 1950s? Did Dwight Eisenhower take a dump in there or something?

I won't even link the article it was so stupid, but yea, this is some sort of scheme. The nonprofit that headed up this ordeal failed at moving this historic mid century building featuring a zig-zag roof and turquoise brick, so some members involved in all this failed plan started a brand new non-profit "The People's Corporation" and they're going to try again. YAY!!! Mayor Gray was very kind and supportive about the ordeal.

If I hear one more gd thing about non-profits or start-ups or foundations...

And a megaplex? Movies fn blow. Good luck.

more notable quotables:

“We’ve had some setbacks but feel confident that this iconic building can still be a place where our city comes together and grows stronger.”

"Under the Warwick proposal, the building would have been used as the Peoples Portal, which would have hosted community events focusing on inclusion and diversity."

^ that's the physicality I was referring to. I mean, wtf. 2 minutes seems pretty good though, I'm not even close to being on your level, need to practice more.

At least I don't write like a little left-handed *****. (Chad)

Anyone else not know how to write free hand anymore, or at least struggle mightily with it? A few lines in a card is way harder (physically) for me than it should be...

...I always had horrific penmanship, but it's flat out embarrassing these days.

Not only that but my hand starts cramping up after writing for 2 minutes now. Apparently all my hand muscles have completely atrophied away.

Sounds like GYERO has come up with a great scare tactic advertisement to put on Fox News and other channels old folks watch. Now we just need a product.

Gonna start booking O/U bets on CoolCat's responses to anything involving wrestling. Opening line will likely be between 60-75 seconds (-115)

What a weirdo.

Wodie... Yes. Just finished thank you notes for baby gifts. I'll be surprised if 50% of what I write is legible for the recipients.

My handwriting is atrocious but a nice hand written note on stenography goes a long way.

My wife made me write all the ones to my friends and family. She wrote the ones to hers. Then we each signed off on the other's cards.

Wearing a UK scrub cap today, met a patient's husband who noticed cap and started talking Kentucky basketball. First legitimate college basketball fan I've met here in 3.5 years. He has some sort of connection to Diallo in and watched him at prep school a bunch. Said he read a recent article on Cal's site talking about Diallo's defense and started laughing. Said kid hadn't played a solid minute of defense at any point he watched him.

Also said from what he knew Diallo and his people were 1000% committed to his plan of developing over the spring/summer and no thoughts of jumping pro. SOURCES!

True or not, interesting and nice to meet another college basketball who watches games for fun.

Inside the remnants of that abandoned People's Bank building are the dead souls of scores of downtrodden hourly employees. Overworked, underpaid, overly dressed, micromanaged, completely dead souls.

I say you tear that MFer down. Pronto.

I just don't understand why His and Her's are getting the push to the moon. I mean the PUSH TO THE MOON. I just don't find them interesting at all.

yessir. Maybe my favorite everyday bourbon. Not that I drink everyday.

As some of you all know my Dad retired from Beam last year but they will announce in the next month that the first 2017 Batch of Booker's will be named after his. It will be called Tommy's Batch. I'm not sure that it will carry the current Booker's price or the new proposed price of $100/bottle.

I work at Beam and I know your dad. Tom is a good guy who knows his bourbon and how to run a distillery. It was a big loss for us when he left. We are bottling his stuff tomorrow. I believe my boss told me it was going to be $100 a bottle.
