What exactly do the players owe fans? How do you pay people that sit on their hands during a game, insult and bash your skill set, personality, and integrity. Call you all manner of names that you wouldn't dare say to their face. Wish them injuries or tell them to play elsewhere. Because that's exactly what the so called fans that say they owe them an apology do to them.

I agree for a full scholarship they owe the University of Kentucky their best effort possible and represent the best way possible but I'll leave their judgement and punishment to the coaching staff.

The "fans" of ours that do all that are scumbags hiding behind their computers, proudly announcing how much their life sucks. The world is full of people that hate their life and lash out in different ways - it will never change.

All of these 'bash the fans' posts are asinine. If you want to defend them when they give a half assed effort, Yap at Cal, yap at the other team, then get a nice chuckle on the bench before they boycott the after game handshake then go for it. I know I felt terrible when Laetner shot that dagger in our hearts and I felt awful when IU hit the last second shot in 2012. The loss in '15 to Wisconsin was a killer but I backed the kids and Cal big time because they did their best and that's all you can ask. As I've said before, if MKD, AD, or a host of other former 'winners' were on this team Briscoe and Monk would have gotten their asses handed to them. Those 'kids' played the right way and it's not a coincidence that they won the NC. We've got more than our share of bad fans but we also have a huge number of great fans that are pretty pissed right now and I don't know why some of you guys kiss Cal and the kids asses that are acting like 'get me out of here asap so I can jump to the NBA'. I think they can turn it around (not at all confident that will happen) but if they play more games like they did against Florida they should catch hell again. You say they owe the fans nothing. Hell yes they do. They owe us effort in every game win or lose. They can lose every game and I'll be proud as hell as long as they try. Is that asking too much ?

This is getting dumb.

Without the fans there is no product here. There would be no games, there would be no players, and there would be no program.

In what world do you live in? The fans pay for this. I've paid waaay too much and the school keeps on upping the price. But we've got no right to expect anything in return? Bullsh+t.

In case you've lived in a cave since Rome, this is the way it works. The product is the team, the customers are the fans. Without the demand there is no supply.

Fans of every great program and organization go through this YEARLY. It's like some of you never leave this board and don't realize it's happening at EVERY PROGRAM.

If all you care about is watching leisurely and being cavalier about the program in general, then fine. That's YOUR style. Stop telling other fans how to behave like you have some sort of moral authority and high ground because you're carefree.

People have different personalities. Some of you want this board to be one giant GD echo chamber of positivity and it's the same 5 posters every time.

That's my opinion. OPINION. Don't like it? You'll get over it.

Not sure if I missed something here.
There has been a lot of opinions and frustrations expressed by many these last couple weeks, but I don't recall reading on here any UK fans wishing bad luck or harm to one of our players.
If players are getting their feelings hurt reading things posted on sites like this one, what the hell they going to do in 6 months when they start getting paid to perform and put on a performance like we have seen with no hustle?
Are they not watching TV?
Seems that is all I have either read or heard on ESPN is how we had no effort, no hustle, playing AAU ball, no chemistry, can't rebound, and more. Is it OK for sports writers to say this stuff and the people who actually care about this team question things and get called rotten fans?
Here is what a player owes their fans:
I will be spending a couple thousand dollars at the SEC tournament. I feel I deserve, as all others, a bang for my buck.
I am not saying we have to win to justify everything, but at least show up with some fight.

Not true you took longer than 3 seconds to write your opinion.

true. I was over it 15 seconds after seeing the post and responding. But I fully respect your opinion that sporting teams owe nothing to paying fans and don't need them. Just think it's off.

I appreciate your supporting the team but many spewing their garbage do nothing more than ***** at these kids in front of their tv and act entitled and if you don't see how trashy it gets then you've missed a lot of posts.

Listen guys if you read the OP you'll see the type of so called fan I was talking about. I agree without fans there would be no sports. But the way some post on here treat these players in a way that if they were your kids you would be wanting to kick their ***. The players owe the university and their coaches who in turn owe the fans a solid product but many on here go way over the top. For those of you that honestly support the cats I thank you and did not mean to offend you. For the bashers and trolls you know who you are and you know you suck.

The coaches, players and coaches family need to stay off these boards if they have thin skin, go practice or shopping...If i were playing at UK or making 8mil a year my skin would be thick and tough as leather.

So schools that don't have millions and big bankrolls of fans don't have teams?

I think what you are saying is you are entitled.

None of us are.

If you're trying to tell us you would be proud of them if they lost every game that's just not true. You would be on here whining just like the rest of the so called fans who expect them to win every game. You know we aren't the only team that wants to win. Sometimes you do your best and it's not good enough. I doubt there is a coach out there that works harder than Cal and he has had players that work hard enough to win as many games as anyone else in the country since he's been here. So when you say fans would be happy with just effort. That's not anywhere close to true. We have a lot fans who feel entitled to win every game and anyone who reads the posts after a loss knows that's true.

I don't believe it's literally become a thing that "fans" are arguing for the right to bash their own players?!?!

it's a &^#*(&^ disgrace!!!

And worse, these exact same people who want to insult our players and harp about PC culture are the ones who cry like babies when someone disagrees with them.

My opinion is it's dumb. Since shooting it straight is seen by some as blasphemy, I'm just getting it out there ahead of time that I don't care what someone like you thinks about it.

And you don't have to care what I think about it.

And we move on.

Nice try.

If you want to whine about people not wanting our players trashed by sad little boys hiding behind their keyboards, the you are actually worse than a UL fan because at least they have a reason to do so.

I'll just ignore you so I don't have to see your feeble attempts at whatever you're tryin g to do.
