Fox/briscoe

This garbage with briscoe at the 3 has to stop. I say we go big and disrupt teams using hump and adebayo simultaneous. I know what you say "hump sux" but I believe if he and adebayo were on the floor at the same time adebayo would make hump better bc he will draw the double team and if not he can go strong. Willis at the three gives us even more size and a guy on the floor who can consistently shoot in addition to monk. Icebrewology or whatever his name is is right on about bam being a 4. I say get him and Willis into their natural spots and quit trying to appease briscoe

I'd rather see SKJ get Hump's minutes at this point. Dude is a non-factor in every game he sets foot on the court. At least with SKJ you get some athleticism.
But, I do agree that Briscoe is getting too many minutes.

Fine but get another strong big body in there. I don't care if it's wood chopper time to change it up and discontinue the briscoe experiment

I think bam can make him look a lot better. And I would say at this point major tweak needs to take place bc I have t seen a uk team panic the way we have he last two games since 2013

I agree that the three guard line up is not working. Our guards are giving up way too much on defense, and two of them struggle to score from outside, which is making our offense difficult. I thought Willis and Gabriel together might be the answer, but Gabriel has disappeared on both ends of the court the last few games. At this point I don't know what the right answer is. Cal gets paid a lot of money though, so I'll let him sort it out.

Stay the course...no more top 15 teams on the schedule.

Let the guys get their mo jo back and continue to develop as a team.

So we can beat some more cupcakes before being embarrassed against real competition in March? Good plan.

Something has to change. Aside from Fox's bonehead passes, this team's flaws are not going to be corrected. So this means you have to take measures to mask those flaws and come up with more productive lineups. Will Cal do this? It remains to be seen.

I don't know the answer all I know is this team lacks grit. Besides Briscoe who is willing to get on the floor for a loose ball? Who is going to box there man out every time or put a hard foul on the opposition? Who is going to take the ball relentlessley to the rack? We see glimpses but not enough. We are a little soft right nowz

Did you see Hu
So, with that lineup, who do you have guarding Josh Jackson today?
Nobody guarded Jackson anyway. To be honest he would have went off on anyone in the country today. You are right tho, Hump played awful today

The time to play skj and let him work thru mistakes is past. Too raw.

I would play Willis and WG together and zone. Quickness out front and length on the wings. Will never happen.

The most important thing is to get guys to play as a team on offense and defense for 40 minutes. Sounds simple but cal has failed to get their attention on this fundamental point.

I still don't see how SKJ's "rawness" can keep him on the bench behind Hump and Wynyard when Gabriel, a starter, is as raw as it gets. Gabriel has made a few wide open threes and grabbed a few boards. Other than that, he has looked completely lost and overmatched. Would SKJ not grab a few rebounds and make a few tip-ins, while being lost and overmatched?

And I'm still wondering what SKJ's role is next year if he is behind Hump and Wynyard this year? Very confusing.

Humphries...no thanks. Maybe more Willis and Gabriel together at the forward position...maybe more Muldur at the three...

SKJ has transfer written all over him.

I'd be very surprised if he is here next year. If Cats get Bamba I would bet large amounts of money that he is gone.

Derek Willis needs to start over Wenyen Gabriel for one.

He's a better offensive player. A better rebounder. Has more experience.

Both are bad defensively.

The problem with taking Briscoe out, or limiting his minutes is that it kills his chances to go to the league. He returned for a sophomore year remember? With the talent coming in next season he won't be able to shine then either. And remember, the most important thing is getting him to the league.

This is where I think Cal has himself hand-cuffed. In another thread I argued that Hawkins is a better all-around player than Briscoe. And I'm quite confident in that assessment. Fans think Briscoe is better because he always plays, but is that actually what you see when you watch them? I can cite mistake after mistake that Briscoe makes. Can't find one that Hawkins makes. Yet Briscoe is out there game after game. Why?

The reason is because Cal feels like he owes him. How would it look for Briscoe to stay and not play as much? "Coach I stayed for you and now you don't play me?" Cal's not going to do that. He's going to ride him out and the team be damned.

Don,t know why he even plays hump he gives us nothing but a foul whenever he comes in.Why doesn.t he play some of the other guys, they can,t be any worse.

I like Hump he has issues with the mental part of the game but you get a glimpse ever now and again. If it ever clicks watch out. He is a physical specimen.

What would you do in the other 30 minutes after Hump fouls out?
