Do we have any interest in M.J. Walker or Jordan Tucker?
I would love for us to get in with Tucker, hes always been one of my favorites in the class. Has some Luke Kennard type skills and would fill a huge void for next year as a shooter. Just have a feeling Cal will look for a reclass player, JUCO, or transfer player before he expands his net in this class.

Kentucky needs 2 more guards in this class, as you always want to be at least 2 deep at each position. I'm guessing one more high school player and a grad transfer.

Wenyen will be gone too. He has physical attributes you can't coach. And they draft on potential anyways. SKJ will be back though. He's still raw. Briscoe, depends on how his season goes. He has great strength and ability to get to the basket. But he has got to hit his shots. Not necessarily 3's, but the pull up jumpers and 15-18 foot shots.
Tell that to the mock draft people as neither him or briscoe can be found

Where is Briscoe going? He sure as hell ain't getting drafted by the NBA.
Turkey, Greece, maybe Czechoslavakia.

It's Czechoslovakia. We'll zip in, pick 'em up and zip right out again.

BTW, it's not Czechoslovakia anymore, it's the Czech Republic, although they prefer Czechia.

I still say we get Trae Young. He is friends with most of the guys we have coming in and is sincerely excited for them every time one of them announces. I think the more come the more he will want to be a part of it. There are a ton of minutes at the one and two for him to come take and be a part of a very special class and another special team here next year. My gut tells me we get him--Indy

Hopefully Young went to the OU/Memphis game and witnessed the complete disregard for hoops in Norman. Arena was empty.. I say we get him and Bamba and one grad transfer.

Bamba,Young, Diallo will finish class out strong

Buck, that would make 7 five star recruits ....never been done before I don't think and a strong 4 star in Alexander.
That's eight recruits ...7 five stars and a 4 star..we would be talking about the greatest class ever!

With Vanderbilt coming on board who is next into a fast growing elite class? I imagine we will lose Briscoe, Bam, Fox and Monk to the draft with Hawkins, Willis and Mulder graduating to giving us 7 spots for next season. We have 5 commitments now, so who will be next?
I agree with your assessment, and I think you nailed it. If there is a commitment anytime soon, that would probably be Diallo. But even if Diallo picks Kentucky, he might be a spring semester addition and might not come back for next season. Calipari must add at least 2-3 more players to the class in the spring. Bamba is the most obvious spring target. But Calipari will have to find 2 more guards to go with Green and Alexander, and it looks like they will have to be international signings, grad transfers, or reclassifications. I don't believe any of the uncommitted guards on Calipari's original list will be at UK next year. The people still hoping for Trae Young are hallucinating.

No scout has Wenyen in the first round so no. He can't guard the four or the three and he isn't a three on offense. He can't drive past wings and has shot 3-16 from three. He has made 8 jumpers all year as well. He's a face up four who can't shoot nor create his own shot right now. He has potential but not enough to be a first round pick

As far as who's likely I say Bamba and then a gran transfer and juco or two of each. Maybe a lower ranked kid who won't play much until year two/three

Like most everyone else, I'm HOPING for Young & Bamba, then maybe find a good shooting guard grad transfer and call it a class.

Kentucky only has 11 scholarship players this year. We lose seven, that means we have
nine scholarships to give. UK can give one to an incoming local four year player and a juco or
graduate senior.

Here we go again with your recruiting guarantees....how did Zimmerman, Newman, Brown, and all the others you guaranteed were coming work out. There is a way better chance that UK gets none of those guys than they do 2 of them.

Lmao I love how this board won't let him live down that year. He was so unbearable with his guarantees and quick to bash anyone who questioned it.

He missed on everyone.

Cawood86, here in New Albany all of the assistant coaches and big time fans I've heard from at their games expect Romeo to remain in the 2018 class.

Reclassifications usually happens without much prior notification, though.

I doubt Langford is a candidate at this time, though. Would break a lot of hearts around here if he did. LOL

I don't think UK gets another big time (top 40) recruit. I don't see Young, Knox, or Diallo coming.

I would expect Cal to take a look at Juco and/or transfer guys or maybe a local KY kid.

Really, really need someone that can shoot. But, the guys they have on board are definitely legit.

Transfer! Transfer! Transfer!! (In my ra-ra-ra voice). I'm hoping this is the way it goes. Give me a couple grad transfers to go with this class, especially if we get Bamba, and that will give us the mixture of talent and experience that we have lacked since 2012 (except arguably 2015 but I wouldn't call a bunch of sophomore that experienced). My personal feeling is that this is why we haven't gotten over the hump to another championship. We didn't have that Darius Miller type that would pull us out of the gutter and guide them when everything was falling apart around them. You need a guy that the others can believe when the **** hits the fan and it's always going to hit the fan at some point in the tournament, usually alot more than once. A couple grad transfer will give us that experience that we have missed. I'm really hoping Cal goes that route above all else. Ideally, I'd like to get Bamba and 2 grad transfers at the guard position. That would be awesome!

Jason, I think the ship has sailed on Young. I think we get Knox, next, then Bamba finishes us up in the spring.
You are incorrect sir....Young and Bamba are coming and we will sign at least one more guard. Brad will pay his way.

UK is in the running for Langford, but not the favorite by any means. Lots of people think Duke is the leader, but if you talk to anybody in town they'll tell you that he is 100% UL bound. I strongly disagree with that sentiment as well.

I think that Duke, UK, and UL will be his final 3. Possibly IU, but I can't see him going there.

Returning rosters will play a big part in his recruitment. From what I can tell, he wants to go to whichever place gives him the best opportunity to shine for a year before the NBA.

I am not counting UK out due to that perspective. If UK has a mass exodus of guards while Duke and UL return a couple starting guards, I think Calipari can convince him to spend a year in Lexington.

Calipari and his assistants are spending LOTS of time here in New Albany. If he were 100% to Duke or UL, I don't think he would continue putting the full court press on him to this extent.

He is one hell of a player. The best I have ever seen come out of this area in my 33 year lifetime.

To be clear, I am not directly connected to Langford or New Albany HS. I attended a rival school in the area and played against NAHS in basketball. After HS I did some video/scouting work for my school.

I watched Romeo play 6 games last year at NAHS and plan on attending quite a bit more this season. Most of the people that were around when I played/scouted are gone now, but I still stay in touch with a few former players and former assistant coaches.

I am not really connected or an insider, but feel close enough to make an informed opinion on this forum regarding players in the Clark/Floyd/Harrison/Scott county areas in Indiana.

Heck, I actually drive past NAHS on Vincennes St an average of 8 times a day due to my job. Can't seem to escape this area!

JORDAN TUCKER. I know he isn't on the radar but he needs to be. Kid shoots like Lamb and would fill a desperate need. We need Tucker.
