-Great game last night. Rain delay crushed the Indians. All momentum was headed their way.

-As expected the fringe Cub fans were out in full force. Buddy who's lived in Chicago for all of 2 years, his wife who told me a month ago she "is a die hard Brewers fan", girl who posted "Go Cubbies wave the flag", annoying chick being interviewed on the radio. About 4-5 guys(yes geeese, that includes you and your mom) that I'm actually kind of happy for the rest are rogue-esque bandwagoners who couldn't name 5 players before this World Series(and likely still couldn't). So weird they attract that level of fan.

-That being said, if the f*cking Cubs can win why not the gridiron cats?

-Fairly nervous that UGA RB's went to the OC and asked why they only got 12 carries last week. Don't pick this week to reverse the load, lets have Eason throw it 50 times again, K?

-Ok, enough with Indian Summer. Let's get on with this thing. Get it over with.

-Fall back

-Saturday shaping up to be an all timer.

* Interesting that so many Southern frat boys adopted the Cubs instead of the Braves as their team.

I guess WGN had a stronger signal than TBS?

Congrats!

* Happy for Chapman (non Rex), Ross, Eddie Vetter, Bill Murray and Abe Froman. The rest of you can get pumped. Especially Travis Wood.

* Seriously, I thought it was awesome when Zobrist and Rizzo and company were celebrating like one of Booker's Little League teams. Seem like a good group of guys (other than Chapman beating up women and stuff) and they are going to be good for a while. The best team all year won it.

- Same. But you're always going to get the bandwagoners. Just the way it is and UK basketball is no different.

- Comparatively speaking, the Cubs have Bama talent- that's why.

Yeah, I'm not talking about winning a title, dummy. I'm talking about winning the East or at least being decent.

-UK Basketball bandwagoners = Cubbies bandwagoners [laughing] Ummm false. About as bad of a comparison as I could think of.

Baseball can be so great.

* Chapman- completely gassed- taking body blow after body blow and he's completely exposed out there on an island.

* A pinch runner coming up big.

* Two dudes swiping home on a wild pitch.

* Davis's CLUTCH shot.

What a game. I get that baseball is too long and slow for these times, but how can anyone ***** about October/November baseball talk? That was awesome.

Also, hate to side with 73, but $60 for the top uppers is too much for UK football. Had no idea those tickets cost that much. Don't really care if we're the cheapest ticket in the SEC. It's too much. So, Kash, if it's not sold out don't blame the fans. Still think it'll be pretty close. Maybe a few bare spots.

Kentucky has the best fans in the country, though. So even though we're 7,000 seats shy of a sellout for the UGA game, it's important to keep that in mind.

Kentucky has led the basketball attendance for basically 28 of the last 30 seasons.

I don't remember what time game 4 of the 1990 series ended but I sure as hell was up for it.

Thinking about it, Cleveland doesn't deserve 2 championships in one year. Eff that town.

Kid: "Daddy, why is this taking so long?"

Dad: "Well, you see, son. The batter has to take 3 minutes between each pitch to adjust his dick, shin guards, elbow guards, mouthpiece, helmet, batting gloves, dick again, batting gloves again, dick, dick, helmet, dick, and then dick. Then the pitcher and catcher have to take some time to figure out what pitch they want to throw. 4 minutes should do it. Looks like they're ready to go ... oh, the batter has called time and stepped out of the box."

Kid: (Wanders off to watch paint dry)

Biggest game of the year for baseball and it's not over until 1:00 a.m. If you want to make sure kids never get into the sport, you're doing a hell of a job, MLB.

Given that point A about the time has absolutely zilch to do with point B and the kids, this is example #1100001001 of ignorant baseball comments in the last 12+ hours.

People need to stick to their sitcoms and Walking Dead updates if they haven't watched at least a dozen games throughout the season, or can at least speak intelligently about MLB.

You F'ing parents make it all about you. Maybe take the handcuffs off the little ***** and let them stay up late for a Game 7. My dad did that and I turned out okay. Stop the overparenting.
There is "late," and then there's "middle of the GD night." This may shock you as a non-parent, but 9-year-olds generally can't handle staying up until one in the morning - nor are they interested in doing so.

Speaking of bandwagon Cubs fans- the WGN kids aren't the worst by a long shot. The worst are the alumni of midwestern universities (notably Miami) who move to Chicago after graduation leaving their born team behind and jumping on the Cubbie bandwagon. Those are the worst.

Oh, F you with the non-parent ****. I've been 9 years old before and I could and did every now and again stay up late for a ballgame.

Boo-f'ing-hoo. There was a rain delay and extra innings and it was all awesome.

By all means, push the kids away from baseball and into the English Premier League across the pond.

Ok, this baseball season we have learned that there is a 250 mile bandwagon radius and now the you must watch at least 12 MLB games throughout the season to speak intelligently about baseball. Got it.

If you're a true fan of the team, then you shouldn't be offended by the criticism. The only people offended are the ones who know they're bandwagon.

Agreed. At least the WGN kids watched. They typically know guys Andre, Shawon, Sandberg, Wood, Prior, Grace...

My kids are Team NFs when it comes to watching any sporting event that doesn't involve UK. It would take an act of God to get them to pay attention to half an inning of baseball. It has never been on their radar for whatever reason, even on those occasions when I have a game on as background noise.

Well, 12 games a year would represent roughly 7% of the season. So yeah, I would like for baseball "fans" to watch more than 7% of the season.

My bad.

Baseball is just incredible. It was a solid #3 for me behind college football and basketball but it has skyrocketed in the past couple of years, mostly due to my boys being obsessed with it. I let them stay up to watch game 7. Reminded my oldest about it after his practice and dude was giddy like Christmas morning. Of course, he was completely passed out in the recliner by the top of the 6th, but it was still fun letting them take in *most* of an incredible game 7. My favorite part of the entire series was my oldest bellyaching anytime kris Bryant did anything positive. He was simultaneously pulling FOR the Cubs and AGAINST Bryant and it was cracking me up. The look of pure MEH on his face when I showed him that final out this morning was great.

$60 for upper level UK football tickets is just fine. Not sure why anyone would complain about that. I'm taking all 3 of my kids and my wife - looking at a cool $300. Only $20 to park on Waller AND you get to walk about 1.3 miles to the stadium. That's called cardio baby. We all need that. Then think about the delicious $5 snickers bar you get to buy as a reward for all that exercise. Better wash it down with a $9 coke (multiplied by 5 of course). Grab the souvenir cup - impress your house guests for years with that bad boy. Yes sir; UK football is for the every man, and that's what I am.

cawood, to further extrapolate, I wouldn't value your opinion if you....

watched 2 games of the NFL season
watched 7 games of the NBA season
watched 2 miles of the Boston Marathon
watched 3 games of the college basketball season
watched 4 minutes of 60 Minutes

Go F yourself, in other words.

GYERO has gotten a lot more ornery and mean-spirited in the last couple months and I take complete credit for that.

Oh, and UCL, your parenting is ****. Govern more like B Rax. That guy has it figured out.

Only proves my point (whatever it was I have no idea at this point) - his kids LOVE baseball and couldn't make it through 2/3 of the game. S. M. H. Start these damn games at 7 - like they do in the regular season. Also, eat **** and die in a tire fire with full-blown AIDS.

In local politics....

Last night was the final televised Senatorial debate for the seat that was recently vacated by the incumbent's retirement. 6 candidates took to the stage at historically black Dillard University -- including former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, who garnered enough support (5+%) to be invited.

:scream:

:joy:

David Duke. Grand Wizard. Felon. Legit Senate candidate.

Kinda sucks that the Dateline mysteries are 2hr standard these days, but man, this new season has been :fire::fire::fire: They had gotten kinda lazy the last few years imo, stretching marginal stories into 2 hours.

The last two stories could easily be made into movies though -- hard to fathom, unlike most movies, that they really happened. People are noots.
