Hurricane Ike. September 2008.

It came thru on a Sunday. I was at a Bengals game and my buddy got a call from his wife that their roof blew off.

That **** was crazy.

I took my dad down to Lake Barkley a few days later and they had all sorts of problems with houseboats up on shore, docks destroyed, etc.

My run in with drx at Keeneland a few years ago:

drx (standing with a crowd of dudes): Hey man, what's going on?

Me: Not much, man. How are you doing?

drx: Hey, what do you think about Ale 8 again? Hate it, right?

Me: Yea, I think it's disgusting, and the only reason people drink it is because it's made in Winchester.

drx: Oh yea, well he owns Ale 8 (pointing to his buddy standing there).

drx laughs, high fiving the crew

Me: Well, sorry, but that's how I feel. See you later, man.

My favorite part of the UF/LSU cancellation was the realization amongst UT people that it could result in Florida winning the East with a 6-1 record if the Vols go 6-2. Seeing this dawn on UT people and watching them (Clay Travis, Butch Jones) get up in arms about it and openly lobby the SEC to reschedule the UF/LSU game is something I very much enjoyed. Go Gators.

PTI(pti): Question: Being the ultra-runner you are, how often do you trip? I don't run as much as you (I probably average about 20-25 miles a week) but about once every 3 years while running on a trail I'll trip over a root or a rock and bust it. Especially in the summer when the legs are heavier. A few years ago I fell and landed on my ribs. It was extremely painful and I literally couldn't breathe for like a week (not literally). Fell a couple of weeks ago and ended up with stitches in my chin. Luckily, nobody saw it, but still. Having to explain to people that my stitches and skinned knees and scabbed up hands are the result of FALLING DOWN requires a degree of self-assuredness that luckily I possess.

We've found our path to the SEC championship game. Beat South Carolina and then all other games cancelled by natural disasters or Billy Joe Wildcats doing something really stupid about 15 minutes before kickoff.

The guy was really gracious about it. I wasn't going to lie, and he seemed to respect the **** out of that. We both agreed that Boat was a dbag, so that was nice.

Running talk...

- I fell just a couple of weeks ago, woodford. It happens to me every once in a while. I always try to roll to minimize impact, but I skinned up the palms of my hands and knee. It was at the beginning of my run, but I went ahead and continued.

-CMD, I just asked some random high school/college age girl walking down the side walk if I could PLEASE use her bathroom. She let me in her house and explained it to her parents as I went upstairs and clogged their toilet. Literally. LOL. Oops. Their house was a disaster and looked like an episode of hoarders. I thanked them and ran home and then sent them a thank you card and a Target gift card anonymously.

While most of this story is true, I did not know she was engaged.

And Richie's lass is a doctor, so it's not a stretch that this little hottie might have been as well.

Hopefully on 10-22 but I need to see how she feels. She's been studying non stop for boards that she takes on 10-20 so that's why she hasn't been to game so far on top of being pregnant.

She's due on 11-19. SHEW.
