Just heard today that Paul Scruggs is transferring from Southport High School in Indianapolis to a prep school in California. Kind of odd that is happening after he has been in school for 6 weeks already. Not sure why he would need to transfer. He has been getting pretty good looks from schools since he played on a top 5 team in the state of Indiana the last couple of years. Not sure if any rumors are true...have heard 2 things. 1) AAU coach involved somehow (2) possibility of low grades. Any ideas from you guy's as to why a kid would leave to go to prep school after 6 weeks into his senior year?

Your ideas sound as good as any. Could also simply be related to a parent with a job change. Real life stuff affects these kids too.

That's about $$, sponsorships, future deals and agents. That's not about God answering their prayers and sending them that direction, and it's not about the kid and it damn sure ain't about academics. But like the poster above said, it's going on everywhere.

My biggest tale from the article refers to religion. The father said something along the lines of we're very religious, we prayed about it... People who are religious, let alone very religious, don't preface a statement with, "We're very religious." They simply say, they prayed about it, or God led us in this direction, etc. I'm willing to bet the father "prays" about his son's possible future paychecks.
