After looking at pre-conference schedule which I'm sure most have and after a quick scan of the SEC this season I think the league is gonna be worse this year than in a long time and that's saying a mouthful considering how weak the league has been lately. Are we looking at possibly only losing 4 or less or am I looking through blue lenses? What's your thoughts?

I don't think we will lose at home. Potential losses against MSU and UNC on a neutral floor. A potential loss on the road against UofL. So, I see no more than three non-conference losses. We usually get a surprise loss or two in the SEC. The conference looks really weak this season. I will say no more than six total losses going into the NCAA tourney.

I am going to predict a loss to UNC in Vegas and at UF and one other SEC road loss or SEC tourney loss (UGA maybe?). So three losses going into the NCAA tourney.

11-2 non conference
15-3 SEC

26-5 overall but the terrible football conference UK has to play in drops our team's SOS so our team gets a 2 seed.

Win SEC tourney, NCAA final four with potential for the championship.

I think we'll lose 2 pre conference and then 4 in conference...

6 total losses heading into post season...

Lots of talent, but young talent.

These type of things are always hard, because so many variables exists for not only UK, but also for the teams they will play. Will Fox and Monk be better or worse backcourt combo than Ulis and Murray? And before people start jumping, it is possible that Fox and Monk will be better, maybe not likely, but possible. Will Bam be as dominant as it seems he is capable of? Will Willis continue to improve on defense and keep his shooting stroke from last year? Has Humphries improved enough to demand a lot of playing time? Will SKJ be what we thought Skal will be? Is Gabriel ready to contribute in a big time way? Will Briscoe's shot improve to where people have to actually guard him outside of 10 feet?

Honestly, if everybody reaches the heights that they are capable of, this team won't lose a game. If most of the returners improve slightly, and we mostly get what we project out of the freshmen, then 4-5 losses is likely. If we get no improvement out of the returners, and the freshmen struggle, it could be another 10-12 loss season.

I'm a little more optimistic. We got a #4 seed with a laughably bad frontcourt, which will be improved exponentially in almost every way. This team is going to be too athletic to lose many games. They will beat you on physicality and motor alone.

I do think poor shooting will bite us in a few games, but the other team will have to shoot decently or better to come away with the win. And I'm not sure our defense will allow many teams to "go off" on us.

I'll concede a loss to either UNC/MSU as a big possibility. and maybe 2 in the SEC (although which team?)

I'm going with 34-3 in the regular season, with a walk to the Final4. Where I'm not confident in is beating Duke on an 8 on 5 game. Don't see it happening unless their PG/Giles issues come to fruition.

This team is stupid better than last year's, even factoring in that our back court could never match Ulis/Murray.

As long as we are in the final weekend I'm good. Just give us a chance at a championship. The final 6 games are the ones that matter. There will be growing pains this season but we should get there

I think we lose one and possibly a head scratcher in nonconference, then probably drop 2-3 road games in SEC play. So anywhere from 37-3 to 35-5 :)

36-4 would be great season. All I know it is going to be another fun year. Can't wait to tip it off.

Prediction: 8 losses; a lot of "chicken little, the sky is falling" posts early and mid year; and continued improvement so as to be in position for a serious tournament run, and a trending pick to win it all, by March.

Oh, and I forgot . . . a whole lot of fun again to watch develop before our eyes.

With all due respect to you all, I think there are too many unknown variables to call it, right now.
We need to see how these guys play together - and, more importantly at the beginning, how they interact with one another in a game setting. Team chemistry is huge and a difference maker, no matter how much talent we, or another team, may have
Just my opinion

28-6 going into NCAA tourney.

From there, I think Elite Eight/Final Four is possible. Villanova, Michigan State, Duke, and some others all with a great chance to contend. UK will be on the short list to join them.

Can't say I'm expecting a title, but it's not out of the question with four first round picks, possibly five, plus a nice group of role players around them.

True, and youth is always a factor. If Fox, Monk, and Bam are playing like lottery picks by March, UK will be in contention.

agreed
we have a similar, I think, mixture of experience and inexperience that we did in 11-12, if not quite as talented. Of course, it remains to be seen how this group compares to that one.

8 losses

32-8
I think many have set there sights too high for a young team. I see 8 or 9 losses, but at the end UK should be in the conversation for a title. Only returning experience is Willis and Briscoe. Really good but not great

I expect a handful of losses. We'll come out and look terrible a few times because we're so young. Then add a tough out of conference schedule along with a few tough road games.

39-1 National Champs.

The defensive and offensive combo of Fox and Monk and their length is going to overwhelm opposing back courts. Triple that with briscoe and his ability to take it to the rim along with being a tenacious defender accumulates to opposing back courts not having a chance. Fox will be a great scorer and facilitator. Willis will stretch out the floor along with monk while Fox hits his open 3's. Fox and monk each have 5 top 10 plays dunking on people. Bam has 8 on his own. Bam, Humph SKJ, And Gabriel will shut down teams in the post. Not as much Humph but the other 3 will, Humph, Bam, and Gabriel will be our best rebounders. Oh also all 3 of our starting guards will be 3 of the top 5 rebounding guards in the country. Outside of 2012 this probably will be our best defensive team. We go 39-1 with the title but even though we finish with a better record I think the '12 team still goes down as the best ever, they did beat every team they lost to either on a neutral floor (IU by double digits in NCAAT after losing @IU in regular season on Buzzer beater) and Vandy (won 2 out of 3). It's going to be a fun year, Folks!!! Getcha Popcorn Ready!

I don't care as long as we go farther than Duke in the NCAA Tournament..
