Just makes you wonder: Who the hell decided to use red and orange paint in RUPP ARENA in the first place!?

That decision is just mind boggling.


No idea if true or not, but was told that the original contractor chosen was a UT fan and he took some liberties with the colors where the color wasn't specified. Heard he ordered some of the seats orange as well and had to paint them after they were installed. Again, no idea myself just passing along something I was once told.

Nah, it was the architects who chose the colors. Remember, the civic center was built and is owned by the Lexington Center Corp., not UK. It envisioned multiple uses for the arena and so did not think to paint anything in it blue. The reddish orange was considered a warmer and more welcoming color.

Looks great. Lots of great memories in rupp, I want it to stay and be renovated. Unpopular I know.

I'd like to see the floor changed. Maybe back to a simple blue circle at center court or a KY state out line instead of the big UK.
