There has been a lot of chatter on sites and NBA Twitter tumors that the Cavs have an interest in trying to trade away Love for Cousins and it has amped up even more now that the Warriors have signed KD. If they can work out all of the kinks....how would this look:

Irving
Smith
LeBron
Thompson
Cousins

Throw in Jefferson and possibly Ben McLemore from Sacremento in the trade off the bench....could this team beat the Warriors in 7?

Cleveland has to do something.
If they are serious about repeating and/or winning championships in the future yes. If they are content on just making the finals they will do nothing. Love still is a great player, but he has to be a first or second option. He gets lost for too long of periods when he is the third wheel and that is all he ever will be in Cleveland.

It would make things interesting against GSW because Boogie should be able to just destroy them inside now that Bogut and Ezeli are both gone.

I would think he would have enough respect for Lebron that he would behave.

I agree. Boogie would eat GS alive.

If you have been paying attention to Demarcus Cousins this summer you will say he is not going anywhere this offseason.

Him and Joerger has been out golfing . Joerger showed up to Demarcus Cousins basketball camp. Matt Barnes who Demarcus Cousins has wanted the last few years also showed up to his camp and just signed with the Kings

Love for COusins makes no sense. Who is COusins going to guard when OKC is rolling out Curry, Klay, Iggy, Durant, and Draymond?

Whatever you say. Cousins would score at will on that lineup.

Do you really think if Cousins and Draymond had to Gaurd each other that Draymond would win that matchup?
Don't have to win it every time. Draymond would win it far more often than Cousins would having to defend Draymond though.

I could be wrong, and I don't feel like looking tbh, but I thought i remembered reading before that Cousins defensive numbers are actually really good. Like his advanced defensive statistics put him in the upper 1/4th defensively among players at his position in the league.

Like i said, maybe I'm misremembering but I thought this was actually a thing.

With Cousins it's 100% about attitude. He mopes when things aren't going his way and his effort ceases. When he's going 100% I'm pretty sure he's actually a really good defender.

If the referees let them play. The nba should really think about swallowing the whistle a little more often. It's getting out of hand (guys being suspended for finals games)..
is this sarcasm? Maybe my meter is broken...

I'm confused. Didn't Durant sign with Gokden State? Maybe OKC traded for all of those guys and I missed it. Let me re-pose your question back to you:

Who is going to guard Cousins down low out of those five?

It works both ways.

I love this idea. Boogie needs to have a solid team around him with good leadership. He has shown what he can do when he wants to play, now put him on a team with a megastar that will push him and jump his A$$ whenever he lopes around and I bet we will see a totally different boogie. If there is a single player in the NBA that he has to respect it has to be Lebron. He would know that Lebron runs that team and if he wants a ring he will fall in line.

A focused Boogie is a scary Boogie.. hehe

The only downside to this scenario is that it's for the Cavs.

For those that thinks Cousins will suffer on defense, just try to imagine Love out there on defense :scream:!!! No matter how bad you feel Cousins will be, I guarantee you that he is 1,000 times better than Love. So no matter what this trade would be a net positive.

Having to make that comment in the first place says a lot. When acquiring Cousins, the risk isn't worth the reward for a team that will no doubt be defending their title next year and will be in the hunt for years to come. It's playing with fire.

If Cleveland doesn't upgrade their roster, it's not even going to matter. It'll all be irrelevant. They aren't going to outshoot the Warriors, so picking up a shooter or two won't do ****. They need one of the best big men in the league to dominate the post in that series. Boogie is more than worth the gamble. He's the most skilled 5 in the league.

No denying his skill or what he would bring to the table from a basketball standpoint that's for sure.

Draymond Green playoff bs definitely hurt the Warriors this year. Cousins track record shows he's very capable of the being the source of similar distractions.

You know that J.R. Smith is their starting 2 guard, right?

Exactly, so add more fuel to the fire so to speak with Boogies theatrics? Cleveland may get its own reality show...The Real World - Cavs Edition. :joy:

rather have green on cousins with the option to double than cousins trying to guard green out on the 3 point line

love cousins, and hate green, but if i could choose one of them for my team, it wouldn't be a tough choice

cleveland should have taken noel instead of anthony bennett, and that's who they need now

the game the warriors play is a little fast for cousins

Yeah I know all of those distractions while he was at UK tanked our season.

You know what? Maybe having a coach that cares about his players and gets along with them like one of the guys (Cal/Lue) and having another superstar to take the pressure and spotlight away from Demarcus (Wall/LeBron) could keep him in check.

Nah....crazy idea!

Green is a great complimentary player that does a lot for his team. To say I'd take him over Cousins is laughable, IMO.

Cousins has played for the same terrible organization that drafted him. 1 team. He's never been in serious trouble, and all of his problems have remained in the locker room. If you don't believe this could be fixed in another locker room with better management, then ask John Calipari what the hell he did.
