You can get free 7 day trial with SlingTV that will include ESPN and ESPN2 [and other sports network]: (it will involve a credit card but prepaid debit card works great).
If you like sling, you will probably need to buy a ROKU {or other} device to get the sports streaming results you will find acceptable and depends on your puter. (now the word puter is old talk, lol)

I used it last season but cancelled during the off months but plan to be back as soon as football season starts up.

Cut cut mine off a year ago and got Kodi on Nvidia shield. Have never once missed having cable

Can you tell me more about that Kodi? How does it stream live tv? I use Plex for everything else that I read on the Kodi site, but Plex doesn't do live streams.
Tmobile gives you Sling tv for 14 bucks a month instead of $20 if your a customer of theirs
IDK that. I have a legacy (an account with an old mobile service bought up by ) Tmobile plan on one phone.
I use an add on called cast away for live TV.also sports devil, and phoenix.
There's also an add on called ustvnow that's like 5$ a month for majority of cable chanels

Kodi formerly known as xbmc (Xbox media center ) streams live TV ,movies as soon as they are released,and all pay per view listings. Pretty much anything and everything that's ever been on a TV screen or movie screen.
I started out using it on an amazon fire stick that you can purchase for $40 and sideload kodi on. Works really good.
The Nvidia shield is just a more expensive version that is faster and has bigger memory.

It's also worth noting Kodi is NOT torrent. It's just a streaming service. You don't download anything.
I actually just have an older PC hooked up to my tv. It doesn't need a brand new pc, mine is over 5 years old and it only purpose is to run Kodi on our tv. Have a remote hooked up to the pc, and it's the only thing hooked up to the tv. Its' so simple the wife can pick up the remote and watch anything she wants.

Yahoo's The Vertical will be having a draft show. Ends at the conclusion of the first round though.

Love Roku, but the only bad thing about streaming is that you can't record off it.
There is a way but requires money (if you want to record live) for another machine: About $100. Most stuff I want to record is available to download after the fact if I want to have a copy without further investment.

Don't fall into the trap I did. Cut the cord a coupe years back and after a year or two my Netflix, Hulu, roku apps, Amazon prime, ad other subscription shows was costing me as much as my old cable. So I went back.
Lol, when integrating new technology, the wife test is always the most important. If she can't do it by herself, start over.
You did it wrong. There's a learning curve for sure. When you get it right, it's worth it.
This is great advice. I can use other stuff, but if she can't then it's basically worthless.
Cutting the cord is great for some people, but as BlueRunner pointed out, if you do so and then start adding subscription costs for all the channels you want, they start adding up. Just depends on how much you watch TV. If you aren't someone who watched a lot of TV it's a great option. If you watch a LOT of TV and movies, then it's probably not worth the hassle.
This will be the last I post in this thread, but you're completely wrong. Kodi is great for everyone when set up right. My wife has all her tv shows and it shows her where she left off. I can watch live sports. We can both watch movies on demand."
It does take a little bit of a learning curve to set it up. (less than an hour) Once doing so, you'll just laugh at cable, subscription services.
I will say to each there own. Some can afford the 150+ bill. Some can't. Either way, we'll still gather around the water cooler talking about last nights shows. How we get there is up to the person watching.

If you can handle the logististics, (cancelling free trials and such) [and learn what you want to spend your money on] you can watch what you want when you want for a low cost. You will figure out how your to spend your entertainment dollars.
If you can't handle the work, you should go back to the cable/sat bill. Probably, best if you go back and let others dictate what you watch or don't watch with you paying their fee.
Nothing wrong with paying a fee if you get what you want to watch. If you paying for stuff you don't watch, that is not so good.

If oyu have to subscribe to so many TV services that it ends up costing more than cable, then it's one of two thing. Either you had (1) a pretty good deal on your cable/satellite package and you were a dumbass to cut it, or (2) you watch too much damn TV.

So how do you know what you want to watch? Do you see advertisements for new shows, etc, or listen for what people are discussing at said water cooler? I'm not against doing it your way, I guess it just hasn't gotten bad enough for me to step out of my comfort zone to do so yet. I don't know enough about that kind of thing to trust myself to set it up right. It sounds a little intimidating to try to suddenly be technically savvy (which I'm not).

That doesn't apply to me.
I still have the basic "cord", but the only time I turn it on is when UK is playing football or basketball, or the Bronco's are on. Everything else I stream. Since ESPN is broadcasting the draft I would think it will be on "WatchESPN". Usually there's an obvious link. The problem for me is your internet provider has to be on their list (which they probably pay ESPN for), and mine is not. I email mine, which is Century Link, about it around once a month but I'm only one guy, and so far they still aren't on ESPN's list. If your going to start steaming I'd strongly suggest the streaming only subscription to Netflix. It has been $7.99 a month, a real bargain, but I read the other day their upping it to $9.99 for new subscribers. Still a heck of a deal considering I stream a movie, or a couple of episodes of a TV just about every night. And NF has stayed true to their commitment to no advertising. An Amazon Firestick is something else you might want to look at. There are "bootleg" versions out there with apps that open up a portal to streaming sites around the world that have current content including movies currently in theatres.
Edit: Here's a couple of more thoughts. Your going to want to have at a minimum a download speed of 10-15 mbps, more if you can get it. And you may want to consider adding a router. There are plenty of free speed test out there, just search on that, and run one to see what speeds your getting if your not already aware of them.

When we will stop letting others make us live in the moment? Almost anything newsworthy on vid these days can be watched in a few mins of happening on the net. Most of the stuff I see on the net ends up being old news on the morning shows. Just a fact.
First option is to screw the coaxial into the back of your tv, set the tv to cable rather than antenna, then run a channel scan. You should still have all your main channels available (espn, espn 2, tbs, amc etc etc) even despite canceling. They can't cut your cable access if you have internet still. Without their box, you just lose access to the channel guide, hd channels, premium channels (hbo), but not basic and mid tier channels such as AMC, TBS, ESPN, ESPN2, etc etc. This is assuming you cut cable tv such as TWC, not satellite.
