If Harrison would have went to KU, and accomplished what he accomplished (two straight FF's, including a title game and a 38-1 season) the Jayhawk fans would be calling him one of the greatest PGs to ever play at KU. They already have Mason and Graham on a pedestal, and they haven't even sniffed a FF yet.
Meanwhile, Harrison is a mediocre PG by UK standards. When you have Wall, Knight, Bledsoe, and Teague ahead of you on the list of PGs to play at UK under Cal, you have to either win it all or be a star in the NBA to get any kind of recognition.
What I can't believe is these KU guys haven't brought up the great Mario Chalmers yet. He should be the poster child for KU PG success, since he is the only one that has won anything. He has a NCAA and NBA ring, why haven't they mentioned him? Just curious. If I was a Jayhawk, he would be my first and only argument for PG.
Of course, Chalmers, like Harrison, is the exception to the rule. Every once in a while Cal will get a (relativiely speaking) dud and Self will get a (relatively speaking) stud at PG.
It's silly to argue that Self can even touch Cal at PG. KU fans can give the tired old argument that Self doesn't get 5-stars at that position, but there is a reason he doesn't, he has yet to prove he can get an elite level PG NBA ready in one season.
Now wings (especially NBA SF's), that's a different story. Self owns that position, right now. He will probably keep getting studs there as long as Wiggins continues to be a star on the rise.
As was already pointed out, Cal is the best at developing NBA ready points and bigs. Can you argue with Wall, Bledsoe, Knight, Cousins, AD, and KAT? Self is best with wings (particularly SF's). K is right behind them, but can develop all five positions (though with him just recently embracing OAD's, it's a very small sample size).
