Why should we help him?

Of course he wants to play UK - he would be an idiot if he didn't. WKU has NOTHING to lose in playing UK - 50 point loss - WKU crys all the way to the bank. 50 point loss- come play for Western if you UK didn't take you - you can play here against them. WKU close game or win - great for recruiting and revenue.

Now saying that, I like WKU and I want WKU to win every game they play except against one opponent. I want WKU to succeed and we have helped out Morehead and Eastern and Transy and Northern Kentucky over the years - why not Western?

Stansbury actually loved UK when he lived here - he just wasn't good enough to play at UK - how many are? Then he wants to beat UK to show how much he wanted to play at UK. I don't have a problem with that either. He and Cal need to set down, talk, clear the air and get a series going. Agree to play Western only at UK or maybe in the Chicken Bucket sometime down the road. UL shouldn't be against helping Western - neither should we.

Stansbury is just trying to schedule relevant games against an in-state powerhouse and an in-state wannabe. I don't begrudge him wanting to do that because if I were a WKU fan I'd want him to do that too.

That being said, I would not benefit us in the slightest to play WKU, so I cant see Cal scheduling that game, especially when you consider Stansburys attitude during his time at MSU and the likelihood that Cal just doesn't like him very much.

See statements like this shows that mentally he's not ready to play either UK or UL. At the end of his career he was starting to act like that nutty Mike Davis who coached IU. Strange behavior, running out on the floor after official's calls and nutty things like that.
