He might get on the schedule to play both UK and UL, and would get a nice "pay-day" from either one to play them at home.

However, if he's thinking a home-and-home with either team... He isn't in a Power 5 conference anymore. He can dream on if he thinks that's happening.

Right, so Rick is the new head coach at Western KY and he wants UK and Louisville to schedule the Hilltoppers. Louisville has scheduled WKU for the last several years. I wonder if they're scheduled this next season? Anyone know?

For my part, I don't care to schedule that series. It's a no-win scenario for UK. Win and you were supposed to. Lose and it's the lead on Sportscenter and the talk of the sports world. Even if it's a close win, it's still a loss for UK. And as for Rick Stansbury, if there was ever a guy who hates UK and lives to play against the Cats, it's him. He loathes UK and his teams play with that same hatred. His teams have often gotten plain nasty with UK.

No thanks.

I like that he seems to want WKU to grow and he understands they have nothing to lose if they get beat by UK or ul. I respect he is all in on his new job but maybe he needs a year or two under his belt to try and run with the big boys.

He may get the program back on it's feet and if he does it could be fun to play them.

Nah, RS needs to build WKU into some kind of power first. But I doubt he can do it. When you watch his teams play when UK isn't the opponent you see a team that is unmotivated and average. But they play out of their minds when UK comes to town. Show us you can beat the Joe's of cbb first Rick.

Stansberry is a pretty good recruiter, decent coach, and probably does deserve to play Kentucky and Louisville every year. He's a big name coach. I've always liked his recruiting and eye for talent.

I'd love to see UK bring Murray into Rupp.

Agreed. As a MSU grad and a Paducah native, all I've heard for YEARS is why won't UK schedule MSU? UK is scared blah blah. Nothing I would love more than to see Murray have to be wiped up off the Rupp Arena floor. Y'all think UL have a Lil Bro complex well Murray is kinda like a Lil Sis type of situation.

Nothing mysterious about a WKU coach wanting to play Kentucky. He has everything to gain and nothing to lose. That makes him a smart guy. It wouldn't be a big deal. After all, we play EKU almost every year. But I can't think of any good reason for Kentucky to schedule them. I would rather see us schedule games that do us some good in 1 way or another. We get nothing out of adding WKU.

Stansbury is a Kentuckian, regardless of how he's acted in the past. I'm sure he was just living the life of a head coach that played against Kentucky every year. He's fine.

We shouldn't play WKU a home and home because of him, however I don't have an issue with playing WKU every year or something.

Stansberry.....as fruits go it is probably my least favorite. It tastes good at first, but after awhile it leaves a bad sour taste in your mouth.

As St.PatterSon-54 mentioned earlier, it is very good for making whine...

WKU and UL had a little fight the last time they played. Doubt Pitino ever plays them again.

Talking about when Montrez started throwing punches in Diddle? I was at that game. If I remember correctly Rick said they'd never play in Bowling Green again, but I'm pretty sure they played at YUM this past season.
