Can Rupp's atmosphere be improved?

I just want to point something out. There are unused student tickets available to the public for many of the games. If you are one of the people that feels we need more noise during the lower profile games, please buy these tickets, show up, and get loud. Many people incorrectly assume that all games are sold out. In reality, only the high profile games actually sell out.

So you're saying that me taking my wife to a game (she's in a wheelchair though so I hope Rupp Arena has proper accommodations) won't really be a problem as long as we're hosting a Mickey Mouse club? I just want my wife to go with me to a UK game, at least once. Sadly though I've not gotten to go back to Lexington since graduating in 2003 (we don't have a vehicle and unfortunately due to my own mental/emotional disability it means among other things I cannot drive; my wife can though) and I often regret not staying in Lexington back when we had the chance. :( But I'm also proud of my own hometown (Owensboro; though I lived in Whitesville during my pre-teen/teen years) and well, you can't live in both. :(

And if I wanted to show my wife all our trophies where would be go now? And yes I would still like to see our non-championship hardware like our Runner-Up/Final Four trophies, conference title hardware, shoot even the UKIT stuff if they still have it. And of course by that same token she'd like someday if possible to take me to Fenway Park so I can see what her hometown/team are all about too! :D

Most of the SEC-T attending UK fans are not season ticket holders. They are the fans unable to get season tickets and those who don't live near Lexington. So your example is irrelevant.

So ironically, while in "major league" sports teams even season ticket holders find playoff/World Series/Super Bowl/etc tickets super hard to come by, it's actually easier for a college team fan to attend their postseason games? Well except maybe the actual Final Four/Championship game perhaps...

Go checkout some NBA arenas to see what they do. Not saying we should do everything those arenas do but we certainly can learn from them in an effort to separate us from others. Change the atmosphere to rise above basic colleges.

We're like....18,000 and 4 at home in the Cal era. I think the atmosphere is fine.

atmosphere is different then win percentage. there are other atmospheres that are just better. for fans and players. most elite teams have great home records. cool.

but do we want rupp to also be a great place for a game? if the answer is yes...things need to change.

That's impossible we've only played in 2,888 games in our franchise history...plus three if you count the NCAA tournament games in 1986 that were stripped from us later :p
