Maybe the Golf Gods are [eyeroll] at you for not keeping score?

Ok, I'm done now. Just keep score next time. The "we weren't playing a tournament" is ******** -- since when do you play tournaments? When will you ever? (never)

If you want to actually get better, which you *constantly* talk about wanting to do, KEEP SCORE. Pay attention to what's going on. You can keep score and play "just for fun" at the SAME TIME. In fact, that's what 99.9% of people who play golf do.

I do know what i shot for the record, UKO should know mine and his score as he was keeping both scores. Of course, i know how many im over after every hole.

I did keep score dumbass. And it was pretty terrible, so I didn't really feel the need to add it all up ASAP.

Next time I'll be sure to document every swing velocity, distance from the tee, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, gravitational pull of the earth, and temperature of my ball sack in case you have questions.

Thanks for the tip.

Pretty sure UKO can't hit it out of his shadow, so I'm not trusting him to accurately estimate Doc's drives.

Monday randoms:

Sturgill Simpson just announced a show at the Saenger in September. Tickets on sale Friday. Will be purchasing 4.

Been listening to Drive by Truckers a lot. Carl Perkins Cadillac, 18 Wheels of Love, Gravitys Gone.

Dinner at Domenica tonight. John Besh.

Considering boycotting the entire Cincinnati Reds season. Haven't watched a single game yet. I mean, wtf is the point in investing in MLBtv now?

Memorial in 2 1/2 weeks. Eek.

Only time I've neglected score is when the group became too intoxicated and the round turned into a shamble OR i'm having a really bad day and check out.

-checked about 4 of the big items off my to do list. Tomorrow should be substantially better.

(A) You're never going to hit it shorter with new clubs the first couple of times you go out. They have the extry new club bonus yards.

(B) [laughing]

Had this same thought. New irons usually means you're not trying to kill the ball and put a nice, smooth swing on the new stick as to hopefully not damage the investment. It's probably 3-4 rounds minimum with some bad shots until the the F-it type swing shows up.

Also, know my score by no later than 18 but that's actually not even accurate. I know it hole-to-hole because WTF else are you going to do waiting for someone to take shots. I also check my email, text, read Catpaw, watch porn, check PGA scores, think about what I want for dinner, etc...because unless you're first off and playing solo, you have nothing but time on the course.

Clinic ended early, nothing to do and I have a group golf trip coming up so decided to hit the links.

Played a quick 9. First time on course in a year. Shot a legit 45 and was THRILLED. I mean, it was a short joke of a course, but very windy and I will take that every damn day of the week (for me).

Also, I added up my score on the 8th hole because I'm a normal human.

The thought of not keeping score in any competition/sport is absolute blasphemy.

Golden State is just amazing. I mean Curry clearly is the face of the team but it's the whole team that makes each individual so much better.

- Really hope OKC finishes the series tonight. Besides betting on them to win the championship I really want Westbrook to cast a shadow on Curry. Both are badass, but I'd take Russell Westbrook over Curry, and just about everyone in the NBA at this point.

You jinx the Warriors?

-I have no idea how anyone can play golf without keeping score and have fun. That's what driving ranges are for.

-I keep my score in my head so I normally know where I stand at any point in a round. Have done it ever since I started playing in tournaments. Not really any need for a scorecard except for verification purposes.

-Adrian, when are you going to get me and Shootbag out to Woodhaven? Really anxious to see what they've done with that place.

Brady wants the point of that? You trying to say one or the other suck or something? No one is knocking Curry, the kid flat out balls and is great TV. Admitting that Golden State and Curry are amazing is just the truth.

Personally I like Westbrook more as a player and would really like for OKC to win one since it looks more and more that Westbrook/Durant may be in their last year together if they don't.

Good grief. Glad the Internet had fun at my expense today.

For the record I did keep score, as I've said multiple times. I didn't feel like counting it up because what's the point, it was bad. It's like diffuse metastatic disease, there's really no point in counting up all the hot spots on a bone scan, you're screwed. Add that up touch boys.

Anyway, Sturgill was incredible. Great show, highly recommend.

Hopcat is terrible. The service sucks, they are slow as Christmas, and the food is pretty much garbage.

If you're expecting Tony's when you go to HopCat, you're probably going to be disappointed. It's pub food. It seems to fall in line with all the other pub food chains. Problem with any of these restaurants right now is that school just got out so you have people who never served before getting their first job and you suffer for it while they work it out.

I remember two weeks ago when Billy Donovan was the worst coach in the NBA. Dude must have read Coaching for Dummies after game one against the Spurs.

No, I'm not expecting Tony's when I go to Hopcat.

What I do expect is to get my "solid pubfood" in less than 45 minutes, there to actually be some chicken in my chicken quesadilla, and it not take 20-30 minutes to get a drink.

These are my lofty expectations.

I've heard several people crush the service at Hopcat. Pretty much the exact same complaints you're making and this was weeks ago. Exactly why we aren't going there before tonight's Sturgill show.

In a league full of freak athletes, Russell Westbrook might be the freakiest of them all. He plays like he is on a permanent Red Bull high.

As for the Westbrook travel no call...which should've been called...Thompson rode him like a rented mule up the court before the "travel"...so those fouls should've been called as well.

And speaking of terrible no calls, Draymond Green is the worst. Guy easily fouls 7-10 times a game. Yes he plays hard and with a ton of enthusiasm. He also fouls the **** out of people when they drive to the basket.

Go Thunder!

Poor planning on HopCat's part to only have like 2 servers responsible for the entire downstairs. Yeesh.

But we planned for a mess and arrived early and got our **** in a reasonable time. Several Blue Staillion Hefeweizen's and a Barnyard Burger for dad (took advantage of 1/2 burgers and $3.50 local 20 on tap).

Concert was dope. Johnny's Life of Sin was my fav. I hadn't been to the Opera House since UK put on Phantom. Intimate little venue, great sight lines even upstairs.... big fan.

Might be? I guess there is LeBron or Anthony Davis from a big standpoint, but Russ is the freakiest guard in the history of basketball. His explosion is scary.

3 straight road wins vs Spurs/Warriors? Damn. The most underrated thing about OKC is their versatile frontline...best rebounding margin in the league, and Adams/Ibaka/Kanter all bring something different. They seem to be on a mission.

Pretty cool that arguably the 4 best players in the league are still alive -- this is setting up to be one of the more entertaining playoffs in a long time, hopefully I can make myself stay up to catch a game at some point. :weary:

Cut the ****. It was a terrible no call and the team you're rooting for benefited. That's it. Period. No need for your other ******** rationalizations.

Btw, I agree the "Can you imagine if ___ was a ___" is pretty stupid most of the time, and is an insult to the people that play/excel at their given sport, and the work they've put in to develop their skill at their chosen sport -- but Westbrook at WR is one I always think about just for fun. o_O

-Is there any doubt '73 is rooting against Golden St just as hard as most of us would Louisville in the Final 4, just so he can come on here with his Bird/whatever stuff, and basically diminish everything Curry/GSW have done the past few years? [sick]

I pretty much just enjoy the Playoffs, rarely really care who actually wins -- kinda root for storylines. I do like Golden St, but now I have a reason to actually *really* root for them. So thanks, Jeremy.
