Paris recs/areas recs (outside the obvious stuff) the wife would enjoy appreciated. A little overwhelming starting out.

I've never been there, but when I do go there will be 3 musts:

La Marais
Mussee d'Orsay
Pere Lachaise Cemetary

Rue Pot de Fer (5th arrondissement), near the Monge Place metro stop. Pedestrian only street of tiny hole in the wall restaurants.

Marais-good cafes. Check out the BHV across from the Hotel De Ville. Decent shopping in the BHV.

Galleries Lafayette-behind the Opera House. Beautiful shopping center. Worth a stroll into just for the ceiling alone.

Saint Chappelle: located inside the Palais de Justice, pretty close to Notre Dame.

On Sundays, the flower market near Notre Dame is cool to see.

Montmartre at night time is fun. A bit dicey but nice view, cool street scene. Sacre Coeur is a neat basilica.

Hit up any random patisserie, get a pain au chocolat and enjoy the smells.

Tower view inside Notre Dame. Highly recced by my wife's friend.

Any outdoor markets.

Grab a bottle of wine, some bread, hang out near the Eiffel Tower on the Champs de Mars and watch people.

Check out Napoleons giant tomb in the Les Invalides.

Hell, I had fun just going in their grocery stores.

We walked up to top of Montmartre this evening, actually. Must have come down the wrong side bc it was basically the ghetto.

Views were amazing though

We're staying in the 5th

Waiting for the stay puff man to materialize on my front door in lex. Take cover strangers.

I consider myself the most casual to non interested NBA fan. No idea igadalou (didnt he play with iverson?) still played ball....
but late playoff NBA is pretty cool. Keep this in GYERO.

do ya ever really know who's sucking on the other side?
Sounds like your cheeky childhood songs were on another level, wowza. Our "hole in the wall" was for boys to "see it all."

I don't want to know how yours rhymed.

On this topic. Does anyone remember the context For singing this, "Snake Charmer Song?"

My Canuck wife has never heard of it and I had a hard time explaining why I would sing a song about French peep shows as a child. I still have no idea, tbh.

Napoleon's Burial Site - Les Invalides - Right in the heart of Paris. Is not exactly exciting, but the building is amazing and he is buried in an above ground sarcophagus you can walk right up to. As a fellow midget thought you might like to see your kin.

Occasionally I'll make a Bill Meck weather joke down here and get blank stares only to come to the realization that some poor souls don't know the Legend that is Bill Meck.

Sometimes I pretend he was born and raised in KY and is our weather version of what Joker should've been, he'll never leave us for a bit time job.

If I want local weather news, I'll usually just wait for Anth to ***** about it here.
No bitching this time of year. Getting a little tired of the rain, although I love thunderstorms, but summer and long days are here for several months. Happy.

-Got the bike back finally and the clicking noise is resolved. New set of rims. Got her out for a little solo venture last night. Glorious. Ready to start racking up the miles.

-School being out is awesome. Traffic flow is 1/10th of what it normally is and we didn't get that break last year b/c of the Alumni detour.

-Back to the belt topic. I don't get the fake buckle. Why not just grab a reasonable reversible (black/brown) belt? I buy a new one like every 5 years.

-Cal is down right feisty right now. I like it. Ready for some freshman on campus reports.

-I'm still in on football but not getting on the hype train. I'll just show up and support them like I always have. What else am I going to do? That steak dinner though, it seems way too cheesedick.

-Webinar from the house all day. Get hype. At least I don't have to change out of my pajamas.

-A little less rain would be nice. Also not looking forward to the 60's for highs over the weekend. Getting a little late in the year for that ****.

-Picking up my BGE this weekend. Got the XL. I'll try not to bore everyone to death with the intimate details of each and every item I cook on the damned thing.

-Niece's dance recital tonight. Fun to watch her. Not so much the other 30 groups of kids that you don't know and have no interest in.

-What exactly is the beef between Bailey & Meck? They definitely don't like each other. Seems it has been that way since Bailey came back to WKYT.

-Was Cal this swaggy before the Bahamas in 2014-15?

-Seems like there's gonna be a ton of pressure to win it this season, because 2017-18 definitely looks like a "bridge year".

-Everyone was talking **** about knocking out 300 on the bench so I checked on Tuesday and I can still get 405. Only got it once unassisted and a second time with Harmon's fingers on the bar. Used to be able to get 4-5 reps. Getting older.

So Chad benching 275 and Mattox repping 405 raise no eyebrows, but me putting up 300 is the most ridiculous thing ever...
