I'd park at the Frisch's in Cold Spring and ride the bus over. Too dangerous to go any further north than that imo.

While I think it is stupid to pay the UK Hoops! HC that much money, it doesn't really bother me at all. It's not like that money would be going to assistant football coaches if it wasn't going to him, as some of the simpletons around here seem to think.

I understand his silly antics are a necessary part of trying to garner attention for his program. But whatever is going on now would piss me off, if a gave a ****.

But all women's basketball is just a money gobbling Title IX parasite sucking on the teet of UK football and basketball. The less I hear about it, the better.

I feel bad for Harmon.

I don't really have strong feelings about gal hoops or Potsie or his salary or whatever. There are plenty of dumb ******** out there getting paid too much money for reasons I can't comprehend.

You would have to pay me to watch UK Hoops games (what a dumb name). Went to one game when I was at UK because they were drawing students from the crowd to take a half court shot for a chance to win a semester of tuition paid for. Bolted after that went down.

LSU is paying Jones too much. Way too much.

I know that bonuses are worked into coaches contracts as incentive, but maybe we should start exploring penalties...I mean, hey Mark we are gonna give you a raise to 4.5 million a year! However, if you fail to make a bowl game (again) we are gonna take half of that back...and we're gonna send Potsie over to teach you how to run your locker room.

I'd like to have Toledo's tradition. That'd be pretty sweet.
Toledo has the best mascot statue in all of sports.

Their "rocket" statue is set to corrrect ballistics trajectory to land at the middle of the 50 yard line at Bowling Green's football stadium.

I speak from a position of knowledge on this (wish I had designed it).

I don't think many of you understand just how thoroughly one sided these contract negotiations are in college sports. Feel free to cast blame, but EVERY program is guilty of the same.

You want to strongarm the guy? He'll just leave and get more $$$ elsewhere. It's absolutely amazing.

I would cheat my *** off if this was my incentive.

I mean, Johnny B. Good level of cheating.

We can't even find a competent coach as it is now. Can't imagine what sort of idiot goofball we'd end up with by employing some of these tough guy negotiating tactics.

Watched that 30/30 on USC during Pete Carroll's 9 years. At the end when people were commenting on how the wins were vacated and didn't count, they pretty much all said the same thing. We beat peoples asses and it was totally worth it, if we could put together another run like that we would take probation and a few bad years all over again.

F it, hire a young 30 something guy from D-II with a wife, kids, and a mortgage. Pay him $400k per (a **** ton of money) and give him a 3 year deal. Add a year to his contract per a successful annual review.

I'd rather have him coaching for his life than some bloated 50 year old millionaire who is more interested in cashing checks and socializing around town. TS.

Sort of like your MAX CONTRACT for content baseball players angst.

F Mark Stoops. What a jackoff.

Yes, find a DII coach willing to take an SEC bottom feeder job for 10% of the average conference salary so he'll stay here for life. THAT sounds like a hell of an idea.

I would take UK football cheating like those USC teams in a heart beat. But UK football can't even cheat correctly.

Miread the coaching for his life as "coaching for life."

Still, a pipe dream. At least if you ever want to be successful. Closest thing would be old school recycled coach you could pay 1-2mill.

I mean, yeah I'm a little salty Potsie makes way more than I do for coaching womens basketball...oh well, good for him I guess.

Lass is huffing that she got a random text message, reminding her to go out and VOTE FOR HILLARY next Tuesday. She is not a supporter.

Kind of funny Hillary could find her number but not her own emails... AM I RITE !!!!

Of course it's a pipe dream in real life application, but I'm not convinced it wouldn't yield similar-to-better results than what Fredo's given us at $3M+ per year. Would also be a lot more interesting/appealing, at least to me.

Regardless of what has transpired in Stoops first three seasons he was brought here because he was the "best of the best" when it came to defensive coaches/minds.

Whether we could score points and beat the big boys I was unsure of but I would have bet $$$$$$ that we would have had a pissed off hard hitting defense that would have kept us in most games.

The fact that we don't (conference bottom feeder defensively), and that was one of the main reasons for hiring the guy is troublesome and pretty much tells you how this is going to play out over the next two years.

kind of amazing our dinky little poor state is somewhat important with our late primary. Hilldog in Louisville yesterday, Bill touring the state and going to be on KSR. imagine it is pretty thrilling for Mag52, young idealistic liberal having Bill touching Clinton on his show.
