To be fair Duke beat us on:Kyrie Irving, Jabari Parker, Tyus Jones, Jayson Tatum, Luke Kennard, Brandon Ingram, and Harry Giles. No other school has come close to that in beating us for guys since Cal has been here. We still get monster classes like you pointed out but Duke beats us way more then any other school.

I'm not so sure about that. I feel like SKJ has the potential to be a better player than Bolden, but isn't the consensus that he's a more raw prospect? I'd always envisioned SKJ as someone who could come off the bench and contribute something his Freshman year, but really develop into something come his Sophomore year. In my opinion, Bolden would fill a bigger need for us in the 2015-2016 season, should we land him.

It maybe slow, but that stuff is changing. duke is about to be 2nd choice for all the top pick guys. Cal is just getting amped up. The best in recruiting is leaning toward Cal.
Yeah, it's over for Duke. When he didn't commit several weeks ago, that was it.

O yeah! Let me be clear before other people freak out on me. Cal is the best recruiter in the country for Men's basketball period! It's just that Duke has beat us for guys more then anybody else. Because other people don't beat Cal often.
But you guys have gotten the best classes the last 8 years. My thing we will get a great class in 2017 but again you guys will probably beat us out for number 1
If not for the Team USA advantage K and his staff have enjoyed the last decade this would be ruled a "no contest". But that is a HUGE advantage he holds over these kids and their plans to play U16, U18 and beyond for Team USA.
I don't think of it like that just like I wouldn't think UK beat anybody out for Knight or Towns or MKG as those dudes were Cats no matter what. I will say they beat us out for Tatum and Irving and Kennard but Jones was always going to Duke as was Ingram ect. Some kids are just locks for certain schools. Duke gets theirs , as does KU and Zona but UK gets more great players so I could care less who Duke gets really.

I am liking our chances. The more I think about it, Estill and Bolden are kind of similar. We could use an Estill type player. Bolden has a suspect handle, so pivot moves involving ball handling will have to improve, but otherwise, he has a soft touch with either hand and will score. Estillish.
Estill was like 6'9 right? so a 2 inch taller version with better knees..... I'll definitely take it.
For those asking SKJ & Bolden have entirely different skill sets. SKJ is a poor man's Lyles. Great shot from 10-18 ft. Weaker with back to basket than Lyles.
Bolden is a poor man's Towns....great back to the basket...in fact better back to basket player out of HS than Towns. He's not near as good facing the basket as Towns though, nor as good on the block as Towns was by tourney time.
