Would love to have Marcus back and appreciate everything he has done as a Cat. As some on here have said before, he really needs that dominant big to thrive and be at his best. He needs to play alongside a scoring big. Hopefully he will come back and play a big role in #9. But in the end, hope he does what is best for him and his family concerning the draft.

If he is reading this message board, I hope he knows those who admire him greatly outnumber the piss ant critics. I assume, as a bright guy, he does know that. Easy to forget in those first 12 or so games last year he was really surprising. Then he started fouling incessantly and his numbers fell off the face of the earth.

Clearly the ceiling for him on a roster like we'll have next year is a kind of bit player. But you always need energy and experience off the bench. If he accepts that role he could help.

Everybody likes to remember Aaron's big shot against Michigan but it wouldn't even mattered without Lee's play. As others have said, he thrives as a complimentary big man who can guard pick and roll, and give some rebounds, blocked shots, and lob dunks. I will be disappointed if it appears he leaves in part to create a slot for someone else.

Lee probably knows that his playing time would be less next year. On top of that, this year's draft will be weak and next year's draft will be loaded. Even if he is not comfortable with if or when he will be drafted he probably knows it doesn't get better by waiting a year. If waiting a year does not help, then why not test the draft and hope to make a roster or prove himself in the D-League. He should have back up options to play overseas and make a nice salary.

he could make a lot more over seas. The NBDL is basically guys either not wanting to move or guys who still desperately wanting to make the NBA since they get noticed faster in the NBDL than over seas.

I know I'll get bashed for it, and don't care - and I've said this before: I'd rather have Marcus return than get Bolden. Don't want any of our guys leaving in order to make room for another player. EVER

I hope what ever he decides makes him happy because he's one of the good guys and deserves it. We could certainly use him next year with all of the young bigs coming in, he would be valuable even if he didn't play that much. I hope so - some of the threads talking about getting Bolden here mention - rather casually - that Lee could transfer or go pro, as if he was nothing.
With the fouling - not sure what happened there. Wasn't like that to begin the season, so much - I think they all really got lost in the subjective implementation of the new "rules" - he just never adjusted. Plus, he got a rep early on, some of those whistles later on were anticipatory.

Eh, I mean, thinking Lee should consider transferring and thinking he not UK material isn't bashing or claiming he's not loyal. Where does this crap come from. And what really gets annoying are the posters that rush in to rub his bottom and tell him everything is ok.

I like Marcus I just think he's an average basketball player and really hurt the team last year. We needed him and he didn't deliver, period.

I'm glad he loves UK. But I'm ready for a PF who can defend, rebound, and hit a layup. Jeez.

And I totally get his brother having his back 100. But fans are allowed to look at it from our roster situation. That's all it is.

I really don't know what could be left to be undecided. If it were my career on the line, i think the choice would be obvious as to what to do. I like Marcus Lee as much as the next guy, but as a basketball player being paid a ton of money to play against the best in the world, that's a different animal and i don't see how Lee thinks he is ready to take on that challenge. He still has a lot to work on and if you're not selected in the Nba draft, i understand that you can still be paid major money to play over seas, but i'm not even sure if Lee is even ready for that kind of commitment. I think he should return and try to go out as a champion at Kentucky and with the frontcourt we will have this year, his role won't be as much and he won't be asked to do things he just can't do. Like others have said, when Lee is not looked at as the starter that has to produce for his team to win, he's actually a pretty good player coming off the bench. Instead of asking him to do what he can't do, if he comes back, next year he can go back to doing what he can do. I'll admit Lee is not one of my favorites when it comes to Kentucky players and i do get frustrated watching him at times, but he's still a cat and will always be a Kentucky guy. Let's hope we add Bolden and Lee can come off the bench and be our spark off the bench next season!
