...is looking more terrible by the day. All directions pointing towards Troy Williams not coming back. Yes, I know he could still come back, though doubtful. That leaves the Thomas Bryant decision as HUGE for them. If he goes as well....Next Year's rotation looks like this:

1) Blackmon
2) Johnson
3) Newkirk
4) Morgan
5) OG
6) Hartman

That will NOT be a competitive lineup! OG is a stud, though that's about it. Can't wait for the crash and burn back to reality of life with Crean.

DeRon Davis and Curtis Jones both could be contributors, but yes the Bryant decision looms large. Looks like a lot of 3 guard lineup with Newkirk, Johnson and Blackmon. Team that with Bryant and OG and Hartman as 6th man and you're OK. Take away Bryant and not so much.

But if Williams and Bryant return, they will be really really good. With Blackmon coming back, they'll be a top 5 team for sure.

Blackmon is what he is. Notice how much better they were AFTER he got hurt this year? It's kind of like saying Marcus Lee or Alex Poythress will be back. Talented recruit, but they are what they are on the court.

Let's be fair .. Blackmon is much more a contributor than Poy or Lee have ever been

Don't count out IU. You simply cannot say look at this roster and it will be terrible or terrific. Everybody proclaims UL's roster is horrible and they will be a disaster but they routinely put out good teams. Same for IU everybody before the season said they will suck pretty bad and they ended up being pretty good and beat us to send us home.
We had a roster on paper that was one of the best in the country and did not perform very well at all.

You just never can tell what players click with each other and which ones light comes on and they look phenomenal.

IU got better after Blackmon got hurt because IU's players improved on the defensive end. It's certainly possible Blackmon could have done the same.

IU got better because Blackmon couldn't play defense and was taking minutes from those guys.

Or maybe the rest of the team was trying to let Blackmon be the one man show and when he got hurt, they became a team. It happens from time to time. I hope IU is just good enough to get an 8/9 seed so they set them up to play UK again.

You people are grossly underestimating what Yogi Ferrell meant to that team. A bunch of ordinary players (except Bryant, Williams and, late in the year OG) got lots of open shots because of his quickness and disruptive abilities.

With Bryant and Williams, a bubble team. Without, NIT at best. The only wild card is if the Pitt transfer Newkirk, who was not much of a factor for the Panthers, is a lot better than expected at PG.

They will be better that a nit team !

HooooSures care, that's all I got. :flushed:
Anunoby (sp) is the next Oladipo, His upside is great. But I agree that Bryant is key. If he goes, IU will not start the season higher than 20 and probably lower.
