This stat may not be shocking to the younger generation. During their lifetime, IU truly has been, at best, a middle-of-the-pack program defined by probation, early NCAA Tournament exits, and even a handful of sub .500 teams.

But for those of us 40 and above who witnessed IU at its best under Bobby Knight, it really is hard to believe their program would ever endure a Final Four drought of this magnitude. I am not sure whether that drought will end under Tom Crean, whose ceiling appears to be the Sweet 16.

My 8th grade church league is more relevant!

I see the Bobby Knight era as the fluke , who they are today is what they really are .

I'd be willing to give them credit for 2-3 Final Fours for keeping Duke from a title in 2002.

It really, really, really, really, really sucked losing to them.

On the other hand, I don't see any team in the country beating UNC the way they played tonight, and IU is probably stuck with Crean for at least another 5 years.

Softens the blow a little bit.

Seriously, that would be like Duke making 1 final four in the first 24 years after coach K.

THe last Championship for IU in Basketball was in the 1986-87 season which was 29 years ago. So, IU will be hitting 30 years next year without a Mens NCAA Basketball Championship. I am sure the Fans are getting very inpatient on winning another Basketball Championship at IU.
