The Big 12 is going to rack up more tournament losses by default than conferences like the SEC when it puts more teams in the tournament each year. For example this year. Unless someone from the Big 12 wins the title, we will have 7 losses this year. The SEC can only have 3 losses, by comparison, since it wasn't good enough to put more than 3 teams into the Dance.

your conference is like Enron. everything looks great on paper for awhile, but you are ultimately paper tigers.

All that diatribe means is that our best is better than your best. If you can't make it out of the first round, do you really deserve a bid?

Well then, can you explain why playing in the B12 doesn't prepare the teams for playing in the tournament? Is it because the competition isn't that tough, or is it just bad luck?

.S&C and I were talking about the Big12 being stronger than the SEC. The Big12 was 20-10 in three years of Big12/SEC Challenges. The Big12 sent 70% of its teams to the Tournament. SEC sent 14%. .S&C wants to claim the Big12 is weaker by more Round 1 losses while most of the SEC teams sit at home.

Again, with 3 of the stronger teams still in the tournament, I can't tell you with the 'certainty' that the Big12 year is shot like .S&C wants everyone to believe. I am saying let the games be played and then look at the actual results not the results that are on .S&C's NCAA bracket.

Tournament results speak for themselves. Those challenges you speak of are normally at the beginning or middle of the season. It's how you finish, not how you start.

Ok the results of not being invited means the SEC schools sucks more than the lower rated Big12 schools getting beat in Round One. If that is what you saying I agree with you.

As I said in the other "conferences" thread, these attempts to bash other conferences is stupid, and just looks like trying to compensate for the SEC.

Speaking of conferences, there is a good chances all four teams on the other side of the bracket will be from the ACC.

So when the talk is about the 2016 Tournament, you want to discuss the 2011 Tournament? It is hard for .S&C to admit that he is wrong...2 teams or 3 teams in this year's Elite 8 is not overrated.

If there were 3 SEC teams in this year's Elite 8 would you be talking about 2011 or 2013?

I'm a Kansas fan and I agree with this. It's disconcerting to hear all year long that the Big 12 is "the best conference in the country top to bottom". It's a pretty good conference for basketball and deserves the power 5 tag, but it just plain and simple isn't the best basketball conference in the country. I think that clearly belongs to the ACC, at least for this year.

Also, poke fun at me if you will but when it comes to conferences my brain is behind a good 5 years. Here's what comes to my mind when I hear these S16 teams: Notre Dame - Big East; Maryland - Big 10; Syracuse - Big East; Miami - Big East; TX A&M - Big 12. When someone mentions conferences, I barely know what it means until I look it up.

SEC - Big 12 Challenge numbers mean doodly when they throw bottom of the barrel SEC teams vs middle of the pack Big 12 Teams, rarely are the matchups fair and should be played on nuetral courts. You think Kansas beats UK on a nuetral court this past season without 46 - 12 free throws at Cheatem Fieldhouse?

The point is the media hype gives the Big 12 a boost in early rankings and screws deserving SEC teams who drop like a rock over a single loss in the polls while Big 12 teams barely fall.Same can be said about the ACC.When you gain more via higher computer rankings because the teams in your league are ove-hyped to begin with the wins-losses count better.
The SEc played the toughest OOC schedule of any league this year and deserved more than 3 bids,if the SEC had 7 bids I'm sure a couple teams would still be left, considering the crappy seeding they gave UK.

The Big 12 is a dying conference. They ugly, they lonely. Why else would they welcome West Virginia?

Really? I think we have played the games on the court...the Big12 and SEC has played a head-to-head challenge for the last 3 years. Big12 7-3 first year, 6-4 the second year and 7-3 this season. For the mathematically-challenge, that is 20-10. in favor of the Big12.
Why did you have to bring that up? I was enjoying this conversation till then.

Kansas is better than UK because our bigs are atrocious. That said, we were robbed in Phog Allen this year. I'd like to see a Kansas fan tell me otherwise to my face without laughing.

Shows your stupidity,Kansas has been Kentucky's ***** since the beginning,If your bunch of over protected pussies had played Kentucky on a fair neutral court they would have got their asses handed to them.Instead they got 46 free chances to score every time Kentucky had a lead and was making a run.
Just look at the head to head record to see all you need to know 22-7

SEC sucks but it is extremely difficult to win on the road within conference because of the horrendous officiating.
