The NCAA will never allow Calipari to win another title

Look at our seeding.

Look at the multitude of bogus offensive fouls called against us in the first half. That sent a message that we were not going to be allowed to play our game.

Look at how every single call went IU's way yesterday.

Look back at Enes Kanter.

I could go on and on. But nobody likes walls of text. So here's my conclusion:

The fix is in. Calipari surprised the NCAA in 2012. They won't let him do it again. He is the Donald Trump of college basketball: He's blue collar, he's not one of them, he embarrasses the eggheads in the back rooms with their cigars and monocles and Duke/UNC shotglasses. He does things his way, and he doesn't genuflect before the altar of ESPN and their ilk. And he changed how college basketball teams are built - er - I mean, ruined college basketball, according to the media. Of course, when Coach K copied his strategy and won a title, Coach K was wonderful and creative, wasn't he?

There's plenty of evidence out there. I barely scratched the surface. But yesterday's officiating, which was disgraceful, and our seeding, which was blatantly corrupt, are the latest and most obvious indicators of the NCAA's intentions. Mark it down, folks.

Please...NCAA didn't keep us from winning that game. Stop with the conspiracy, at some point you just have to win games.

And no, every single call didn't go IU's way...the free throws and foul calls (up until we had to foul late) were nearly the same.

I guess the NCAA was OK with us beating Stony Brook by 30

I wouldn't go as far as the OP, but it's clear nothing will be handed to us. Whatever our seeding, the other teams in the bracket will be underseeded. If we're a one seed, we'll have the very best two seed, four seed, eight seed, etc. Whatever rules are implemented to improve the game, they'll be out the window when we play. In short, we'll never get a favorable draw or whistle, and that's completely by design.

LOL when UK is truly great like in 12 or last year we get 1 seeds and it doesn't matter . I do agree during years like this though they make it hard . But next year won';t be like this year it will be like last year and 2010.

I don't think the NCAA ever does us any favors. But I also don't think there is some sort of vast conspiracy to hold us back. Kentucky being good is good for college basketball. The people running the NCAA may not like us, but they do like what we bring to the table in terms of $$$. Without Kentucky, college basketball just wouldn't be the same.

And even if certain officials appear to be biased against UK, if you have a good enough team and you play good enough ball, even they can't deny us what is rightfully ours. We had a good team this year. But we didn't have a great team. That showed in the regular season results and it showed last night. We'll be back with a vengeance next season. And if we are good enough, nobody will be stopping us, just like they couldn't stop us in 2012.

The only time we were ever cheated was last year against Wisconsin. The fix was in on that game. Other than that, we got bested by every other team that ended our season.

2010- WVU
2011-UConn
2014-UConn
2016-Indiana

The Wisconsin game was the only one where just crooked officiating took it from us. The shot clock violation that was allowed to count, the flop from Decker and it all ended our perfect season and gave Duke the title.

Well regardless Coach Cal will only be here 5 more seasons tops. He will be gone soon enough for the haters in the NCAA and whoever else. 5 more seasons of corruption from NCAA big wigs is all that remains.
You will have no Coach John Calipari to blame our seeding and performance on in 1700 days. (watch the language)

If IU and UK were to resume the regular season traditional game, a postseason matchup wouldn't be so attractive.
As for the rest, ESPN is partners with the SEC on their network so why would they be against UK, the standard bearer in hoops for their own network? There's no conspiracy. Murray got locked down by OG and you guys weren't able to hit shots you normally make. You had a great year and got better as the season rolled along, but had a bad shooting game and couldn't overcome it.
It would be nice to play you guys every year again. It was always a great rivalry (like the HS All Star games).

Seriously??? Wow, what a crock. We lost because they were better yesterday. We lost last year, because Cal played the Harrison twins instead of Ulis and Booker down the stretch against Wiscy.

Well, we had to play Iowa state, Indiana(2 top 10 picks), and the best Baylor team Drew has probably had with pros, BEFORE the final four with that team.

Someone, please, call me when schools like Duke get that treatment. They have an easier road this year than we did in 12 and they're a FOUR seed.

I agree that the NCAA isn't blatantly after Cal and Kentucky but they sure as heck don't mind making it a little hard on us.

One thing that stuck out to me after the brackets came out was some of the discussion of teams that had some injuries and how the committee took that into consideration. I never once heard any discussion of this regarding Kentucky. Poythress and Willis both missed a number of games where we had losses. Do these injuries not count if you have a certain number of McD's AA's on your roster?

Cal has basically told the NCAA to stuff it. He does what's in the best interest of his players and program. How do you think the NCAA feels about Cal having his own NBA combine in October that is covered live on TV? Yeah, I'm sure they love that. I'm also sure they wouldn't allow there hostility over things like that to manifest itself in how we get seeded. Do you?

Yeah, but they wont steal Cal's joy, because he is producing over and beyond the standard he has set for himself..

NCAA Titles are not the true goal, folks, breaking generational poverty and creating first round draft picks are. And Cal has been wildly successful at both. This is a players first program, per the bosses lips over and over and over, isn't that what you want at UK? or is it?

Um,, KY vs Indiana isn't a rivalry in high school basketball.. We've not won a game since Lincoln was in office.. It's like the UK UL game.. It's not a rivalry either.. Far as UK playing IU,, play on a neutral floor and we'll play ya every year.. Y'all had the better team yesterday.. But I still hate your fans as much as I hate ULs fans.. :)

Cal called the NCAA out bigtime when he said we should go to Super Confenernces and cut the NCAA out. I have no problem with what he said, but they will ALWAYS give us the toughest road possible. Probably made sure we played on Thursday instead of Friday as well so we had very little rest after the SEC tournament. We looked tired yesterday, shots hitting the front rim. Traveling to Nashivlle and spending the entire weekend there, sitting around in a hotel between games, going home for a day and then traveling to Iowa and sitting in a Hotel will make anyone tired/anxious, no matter what age you are. There are SO many factors involved in winning an NCAA tournamet and it's a total crap shoot. I love the CATS but am getting slightly less emotionally invested in it with each year that passes as the chance of winning the ultimate prize is so small.

I agree with a lot of this. I've followed the Cats since 66 and I've never seen such poor seeding and continual questionable calls against a true blue blood program. Corrupt is a strong word and I won't go that far but there is no doubt in my heart that their are biases and certain agendas for and against some programs. Do you think for a millisecond that Uk would get the same treatment that the UNC program has received concerning the academic fraud "investigation"?

I too think he and UK receive similar treatment as Donald Trump. The politically correct society has a penchant for being able to bully whom they will without public retribution or outcry. I can understand the old guard hating UKs past indiscretions back in the old days and under the Sutton regime bit UK has been clean and honorable ever since. UK has always been envied since the Rupp era. That has really never changed over the years. The public press was at peace with us during the Smith and Gillespe years because we weren't as dominant and threatening as we have been under Cal. Our fan base is the envy of the NCAA. Our favor with the top players each year frustrates other fan bases because we are always going to have the best looking prom date each and every season. We are blessed with a phenomenal coach, an unreal legacy, a fan base second to none, and favor with the young super talent throughout the nations. There is jealousy no doubt. The best thing Cal and UK can do is keep being who they are. All of our griping and his sarcastic remarks to the press haven't changed their operations one bit. Ignoring it and keeping on recruiting the best and the brightest is the way to ultimately earn their respect. It's not fair but being the bigger man works out best in the end. Rant over. Sorry for the length.

No way the NCAA would act inappropriately in such a manner . Whats next ?
Are you going to have me believe they would have an edict to target certain schools by their investigative arm (Emmert)

Break their own rules when investigating a school (Miami) targeted

Send a NCAA rep who is an alumn to sound an alarm at a school running a scandal for decades (UNC) favoritism

Lance Thomas (Duke) favoritism

No way that bastion of integrity would ever tamper to get a desired outcome .

Why, because it is well known that Indiana will win both games every year? How can Kentucky HS hoops be so bad? I know our state's population is quite a bit larger, but that can't be the only reason.

By the way, the OP's argument is just sour grapes. Neither team played all that well yesterday, but IU won and the refs and NCAA had absolutely nothing to do with the result.

Why does it have to be played on a neutral court? It's just dumb. It seems pretty obvious that with Cal's recruiting philosophy of having a very young team each year, he's shied away from having them play such an early season game in such a hostile environment. What's funny to me is, that loss that UK had in their last trip to Bloomington seemed to galvanize that team and those young players and they ended up winning your last NC. Those types of games in hostile arenas are good for a young team, IMHO.

Horse dung. The wasn't attractive anyway. Besides the NCAA will always create this match up. They just will. Just like they will always put DUKE in a bracket that a decent high school team could come out of. The last time the series took place in the regular season was '12 and the NCAA magically found a way to pair us anyway. Playing in the regular season isn't going to stop that. The only thing that will stop it is to have the NCAA committee pick the seeds but not the brackets. Then feed the seeds into a computer program that will randomly fill out the brackets. Then and only then will you get fair and balanced regions. Until then we can expect to see IU in the 2nd round UL in the 3rd round and North Carolina in the 4th round every tournament. Occasionally throwing in Cincinnati and West Virginia during the years that UL and IU don't make the field of course.

What? Over the years, we have played at UNC, at Louisville, at Kansas on the road. We've played high caliber games on neutral courts as well because it's great preparation for the NCAA tournament. You're not playing on a team's home court in March.

We don't want to play at Bloomington because of the crowd in 2011. It was some of the most vile people in the stands that day. It's stuff that doesn't even happen at the Yum so no thanks to that.

You want to do it in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil or the Yum in Louisville, then sure. Anything else...nope. It doesn't help our schedule any and it only benefits Indiana.
