It's one of those "be careful what you wish for." IU fans desperately wanted to beat Kentucky ... but now have to keep a coach (tonight aside) who really hasn't proven anything with a team that didn't have Dwyane Wade.
if Watford shot gets him 4 years, this should get him another 6
when they get beat next week and realize it's still one final 4 in 30 years maybe they will come to their senses

I'll take a loss to IU, in a rebuilding year, if it means that Creepy Crean gets another 4 years. Congrats on the big win. I'll be watching for the ring ceremony next week.
You act like they just beat a great UK team. You do understand that this is the worst Cal team to play in the tourney at UK, right? Hmm...worst Cal team vs the 2nd best Crean team, and you speak as if they conquered Rome.
You can praise him all you want, but this isn't the NBA where the coach is to do the best with what he has----this is college, where the coach builds the team. Indiana is decent once every 3-4 years, UK is chasing a title EVERY year. A bad year for Cal means IU hangs a banner and give rings.
Bottom line; You beat a UK team that wasn't the normal UK team. Praise Creepy Crean as much as possible, maybe sign an extension. Please do this before the UNC game.

Obviously Cal is the best recruiter in the country, and any college would kill to have him. I am not a big Crean fan, and wish we had a legendary coach at IU again. But you kind of say it yourself: UK's "worst team" has more talent than IU's "2nd best team". Crean's playing freaking walk-ons, recruits in the 200 ratings and transfers from other schools that didn't get playing time...not because he didn't build a good team, but because of injuries and kids getting drunk & doing stupid stuff pre-season. And yet they won the conference and are playing UNC in the sweet 16.
I'd say "good job" to any coach who did that. That's all. I doubt I'll visit your forum again, but how about just for you we beat UNC then lose to whoever in the elite 8? We'll see :victory:

UK wasn't going to win the title this year, we all knew that. So losing to a "has been" program to solidify his place at IU for a bit longer is a nice way for us to look at it.

Troy, Yogi, and Bryant are all pros. OG and Johnson are players. Add Blackman and we have the same top end talent on both teams. IU won the Big 10 at 15-3. Your talent was just fine.
Also, IU will not replace Yogi, yet UK has 5 Top 25 guys coming in. That's the big difference between the two programs.
Enter Creepy Crean back on the hot seat middle of next year.
