Briscoe is a stud BALLER. ANd I love his attitude after the game. Media asking him these dumb questions about the season, he gave them a look like go to hell. And said nothing, Dude hates to lose, dude is awesome., I really hope he is back next year. ...Meanwhile, we have other player cripting about maybe he is gone or whats next....SEE YA !!!! Have some heart, like Briscoe and Ulis

If Briscoe comes back he'll be an absolute stud.. All he needs is to keep working on his shot.. He's improved a lot and is developing good form.. Because he shows that potential he'll probably go pro.

Can't win a National Title with him being a major minutes player. You cannot play 4 on 5 he has to get better on offense.
On the other end of the court he is the best defender. If you take him out, who comes in?

I like Briscoe also. But I believe he would've been better served playing on a team that could play him at PG where he could drive & dish more effectively. I don't think his skills translated to being a wing player.

If he comes back he cannot play SG for us to be effective unless his game changes. He will be more of a SF which we do need.

You cannot win anything meaningful with defenses collapsing off the ball because your shooting guard can be left wide open. Its called a SHOOTING guard, for a reason. People wonder why our offense couldn't hit anything today? The spacing is awful and the flow of the offense was worse This all had a lot to do with several factors, Briscoe being one.

I think they can actually, as long as we complintment him with positional players.

We need a mix of everything, thats how you win. I guess thats what I'm getting at. In 2012 we had a legit center, a true college PF, a true high percentage SG, A REAL SF, and an unselfish ball handler. We've got to get back to that. I think Briscoe could be a mini MKG if he put the work in.

I think his lack of offense is the reason the season is over. 3 great offensive guards can carry a team to a championship with limited post play but not 2.

Yeah, his aimless drives into nothing really helped us win. So too did his shooting all year! He has zero choice but to come back unless he wants to quit basketball.

He was a turnover machine at times. Not acceptable unless you go off for a 10-minute period like Ulis or Murray.

If Briscoe is back, he will be our starting PG. I know a lot of you don't want to hear that, but I would bet on it. Fox will play SG and Monk will play SF.

And he will be GREAT. Playing him on the ball highlights all of strengths, and hides his one weakness, which is shooting from the wing. Just as important, Cal LOVES him. He knows his chance to make the NBA is as a PG, and Cal will give him every opportunity to do that.

Lmao. Yeah right. He's the best defender even though the SEC DPOY is his teammate. He's not that great of a defender. His defense is a big reason we lost today. Troy Williams abused him all game. Briscoe couldn't do a thing to stop him from driving.

did briscoe whine once this year? about anything? he was our physical leader. he was out of position most of the year too getting the other team's 3 one on one and on rebounding assignments. while more than holding own. that's insane. he's going to be a pro. he just needs a positive offensive showcase and i'll bet that's more likely to happen than not moving forward. it could be at uk or in the d league, but he would be drafted imo.

honestly you can laugh i think he has huge hands and it effs up his shot. just like you can't take the ball from him, his follow through release point changes because he probably had weighty *** fingertips. he either holds onto the ball too long or not long enough. there's a lack of touch/control/finesse there. on long range shots he's forced to follow through more and actually showed improvement with the 18 footer late in the year, but it still needs a lot of work. he may need to break the whole thing down and start over. staying i think would help just so he has a chance to do something about it.

If he comes back? With all due respect where would he go?

I wonder the same thing. If an NBA team would pick him, the system is messed up bad. He'd destroy his confidence and be gone from the D league

I agree. I want Briscoe to come back to be our starting pg. It's almost a priority that he does come back. He is experienced, a great ball handler, high basketball iq (will be the highest of anyone on next year's team), and he'll be a great leader.

If we've learned anything from this year's team, we need experienced leadership. Poythress couldn't be that. Just not his personality. And neither is Marcus.

But Isaiah would embrace that role.

This is true, and this board overrates his defense badly. He is an OK defender. Not a great defender.

We've got some people that are just going to back him no matter what he does. I get it, but when they try and pretend he's something he's not (as to prove a point), it gets old.

You're dreaming. Not in a million years is that going to happen. And his basketball IQ is not what you're saying, and no it won't be the highest on the team.

Dude.

I know this won't sit well but here goes. I want Cal to do what's best for the university of Kentucky men's basketball team.
If that's Briscoe at the point then so be it.

It's not gonna happen. Cal is always recruiting. Briscoe at the point doesn't do anything for that.

I think he does very well guarding other guards (Grayson Allen) ...but stick a mobile guy whose a couple of inches bigger than him (House from A&M) and he gets abused.

no hate from me. I think he will be a different player next year. But he sure had a LOT longer leash than some players. And it's obvious.

Unless Cal didn't recruit Fox to be a PG, then it will, or Cal won't risk it anyway.

Briscoe was the 10th rated player in his class and the No. 1 rated PG. Would playing him out of position two years in a row hurt recruiting?

I didn't think Briscoe was recruited to play point here.

If your going with a 3 guard lineup you have to be able to shoot the outside and from 3. I love his defense, his hustle, and his drive to the basket. He needs to work on his outside shot and 3 point shot and FT's if he is coming back next year. He has a decent midrange jumper but is no threat from outside and from the 3. I wish Willis played more with his outside shot threat and his 3 point threat and is a 88% ft shooter and improved his rebounding and defense. I hope Willis, Hawkins, Briscoe, Hump, Wynyard, and probably Lee returns which is 6 players to go with our 5 great recruiting class and hopefully a 6th in BOLDEN! That gives us 12 players. We need BOLDEN next year!
