and absurd that KY/Indiana are playing in the 2nd round of the tourney. I called the NCAA office (317-917-6222) and left a meassage for Mark Emmert and every damn one of you should as well. I'll never spend another dime on a tourney game and I've traveled well over the years....you can take that to the bank.....I'm done!

Both teams had losses that were bad and you gotta win lots of games or teams ahead of you will get a higher seed. That is how it works. You get 31-34 games to get higher and it's on the teams if they don't.

The reason for the second round game. Could have been a first round 8 and 9 game going at it if they lost a few more.

We should put this up as post of the year! But seriously, you must be joking! Have you watched either team play?

What total garbage.

That's not how it works for everyone. All anyone's asking here is that UK is held to the same standard as every other frickin' team that they evaluate. As opposed to getting sh** on because the committee members don't like Cal, and because they see big potential TV rating games involving UK. And when A&M gets a 3 over UK, and when Duke gets rated ahead of UK, then the system is being subverted by things that have nothing to do with what they're supposed to be evaluating.

This is all about ratings, the NCAA is in with the tv networks and they put together the teams will have the highest rating , it all about politics like everything else..

No. 1 Seed Oregon beat Alabama by 4 pts. Alabama. They lost 6 games overall.

They essentially played no one outside the west coast except Alabama and Baylor, and they barely beat both. They lost to a bad Boise State and UNLV. The fact these guys were rewarded with a No. 1 Seed still boggles my mind. Literally none of the experts picked them to be a No. 1 Seed.

Oklahoma, the No. 2 in the region, finished 3rd in their league, and over the last month of the season have been collapsing, losing 5 of their last 11 games. The No. 3 - Texas A&M - is overseeded and should have been a 4 as we all know. Duke is overseeded as a 4 as well.

This year's West bracket compared to the other three is the weakest I've ever seen.

I hope you are very drunk when this was written because this post is absurd. An adult calling and leaving a message to the NCAA pres complaining about seeding? You're going to stop supporting our team to make a point, you are the one that loses in that scenerio. I am looking forward to sending Indiana home, much more enjoyable than pounding a team like Yale.

I'll bet that left them shaking in their boots...
So your answer to getting at the NCAA is to not support your team? Interesting.
Isn't that like being so mad at the KHSAA that you never go see your child play a high school game?
Whatever floats your boat.

Kentucky was SEC Champion,SEC Tourney Champion, and was higher in every Computer ranking than Texas A&M,so you are full of ****

Win games and it wouldn't matter. Stop bitching we lost to awful teams and you people felt it was no bad deal then. I knew it was and knew we wouldn't get a high seed.

I even said after the loss at Vandy if we won out I would be happy with a 5 or 6 seed.

It's about the $$$. The NCAA and CBS wanted this match up and making UK the 4 and IU the 5 was the only way to make that happen...because they weren't going to make UK a 2 and IU a 3. I love dogging IU but it should be a pretty good game... but I believe our guys will be up to the task.

If the game comes down to coaching, well, Philly better get ready for a Big Blue Storm!

With that said, 'Coach Tom Crean is AWESOME and deserves a LIFETIME contract!" This advertisement was paid for by the committee for a better Hoosier.

"Come on Cal...help me out, will ya?"

I'm not Bitching and UK won as many games as Texas A&M beat them for the Auto Bid,split for the Regular season Championship,T A&M had as many bad losses as UK,there is no defense for what the selection Committee did, obvious CBS paid to have this matchup they are crying about losing during regular season.Crean is the asshat who refused to play on a neutral court,IU needs Kentucky more than vice versa and that's been proven all ready.

If you were any more full of it, it would be squirting out of your ears.

Until you acknowledge that UK got screwed over by the selection committee, no one gives a sh** what you think or don't think. The FACT is that the single most objective measure that the selection committee uses, the (idiotic) RPI, which incorporates ALL of UK's games, good and bad, had UK ahead of teams like Texas A&M and Duke. Anything used to place UK below those teams was ARBITRARY, the classic example of the moving targets that Cal talked about in regards to the selection process. If you want to claim that you saw the screw job coming, well good for you, Nostradmus, but if you want to keep pretending that it was justified, then you're just throwing out bait. Even frickin' Duke fans were on here the last few days admitting that UK was under-seeded.

It is crystal clear that Texas A and M and Kentucky should be in each other's spots in the tourney. However, by doing so it would have eliminated this second round game. It is a match up for ratings. But, so what? Kentucky will beat Indiana.

Every Team in the Top 10 had bad losses and only a few had less losses than UK,most of their supposed Top 50 wins came off their over-rated conferences while the SEC was under valued.7 Pac 12 teams is a joke,2 of those should have been SEC Bids

NCAA really botched the field this year...

Arizona playing Wichita St in the first game is a joke...that is a later round match...should have been a lot more of a game than it was...Arizona didn't show up...9 times out of 10 that is a barn burner, and the NCAA knows that...they also know that Vandy v Arizona could have been a competitive game...Zona was screwed either way...

UK v IU...I don't know how often P5 conference champions face off in the second round...but it shouldn't happen til Sweet 16 at the earliest...

the potential for Michigan St and Syracuse in the second round is huge to...not as atrocious as our situation...Cuse struggled and are not as elite as they've been..but still that is a huge billing...Boheim v Izzo...ACC v B10...top shelf programs...if Cuse advance, really unfair to Sparty to have to play that type of game so early...

Would agree that the NCAA wanted a huge second round match up to sell...and its something they've been doing and will keep doing...why wait til the final 4 to have a final 4 type of game? look for this to be a trend going forward...seeding the field to have big games in the early rounds...

I sometimes think the committee under and over seeds teams on purpose. Then they can have these so called upsets. If teams were seeded where they should be, then there would be less upsets. In turn less must see t.v. for the casual fan.
Having said all of that the committee may just be that bad at seeding teams. No way should Vandy been in over S.C. No way should Syracuse be in. Oregon St. is seeded way to high. They may very well win but they are seeded to high. Same with Oregon. They should not be any higher than a 3 seed. I watched my share of Pac-12 games this year. The teams are more overrated than the Big 12.

I think it's convenient that they talk about Michigan State's losses when Valentine was out, but absolutely NO MENTION of our 20+ games of action where we had key players out such as Ulis, Poythress, Briscoe, Willis, and so on.

If you go back and look at Kentucky's NCAA Tournament schedule since Coach Cal arrived here 7 years and we have made it 6 times there hasn't been an easy path to the Final Four. Coach Cal has taken Kentucky to the Final Four 4 out of 6 years and the 1 Elite 8 in 6 years. This is Coach Cal's 7th year and each year we have been in the tournament over last 7 years the NCAA has made Kentucky's path probably one of the hardest to make it to the Final Four.

As a UK fan, you might as well get used to it. It's gonna happen every year. However it hasn't worked out for them because UK has made it at least to the reg finals every yr they've been in it. Just think how sweeter it will be to knock off IU, UNC and all of the others they've tried to roadblock UK with these last few yrs. It didn't work in 2011,12,14 and 15. Take each weekend as a 4 team tournament. The way UK can stick it to the NCAA selection people is to just win the games.

I have a theory on Kentucky getting under seeded. It is that when we lose to bad teams it is noticed more and stands out in the committee's mind. This is especially true coming off of last year's run. I do think the IU-UK ratings played a big role in this matchup. IU was probably underseede worse than us.

UK is where it is in the bracket because the Selection Committee saw a great opportunity to put IU and UK together for what will probably the most widely viewed 2nd round game in history. To a lesser degree the same can be said about a potential TAMU vs Texas game.
I just wish the committee would be honest and truthful about what they do. It's OK to try and setup intriguing matchups as long as it doesn't do a dis-service to the two programs in question. By incorrectly seeding both UK and IU to achieve their goal this year, they have done some damage to the process IMHO.
