- Got the job through a college contact...him and I did some campaign work for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco a couple years ago and recommended me for this job.
- This job is demanding AF, but it's a blast for a youngish, single, professional. Awesome pay, company whip (Tahoe), and free apartments in Omaha and Lincoln...lots of drinking and taking people out on the town.
- IF we can get this on the ballot, it opens some huge doors for me. Even if it isn't on the ballot, think I'm pretty set if I want to stay in Nebraska.
- Dad is a Cincy fan. He used to hate UK, but I've got him coming around. Mom went to UK and most of my extended family are UK fans...plus my dad and I are ultra competitive ane we enjoy talking **** to each other about sports.
- Cinnabon Pinnacle...smokeshow office manager loves it, so I got a few bottles. She hangs out in my office a lot more now. Her mom is a state senator too...won't pull out if I can close that.

He probably isn't really bright and thought the Al Swearengen offer of being paid in ***** was a great deal. When he realized that he couldn't be their pimp, Uber happened.
The levels of corruption and sleaziness on Floyd Street knows no boundaries. I'm sure it would be repulsive if it was revealed what convinced McGee to resign from his job and not give the NCAA the ability to interview him. Pitino went to great lengths to crush Sypher for a love child, just imagine what he would do to someone that would topple his program.
Didn't see this posted but Goodman threw out an article about "Scariest Teams to play in the Tourney" according to 75 coaches he spoke to.

-All packed for Ft. Lauderdale... leaving tomorrow morning. Cannot wait. Only rough thing about it is I'm going with 5 Louisville fans. (Wasn't my best option of course. But I scrambled late because I didn't know about my work schedule over Spring Break.) But due to the scuttlebutt circumstances, I'll have plenty of material to rib them with. I dont even think there is an argument to be made against the fact that this generations athletes are superior.
But it's not apples to apples comparing today's players to guys from the 70's who were burning heaters in between snaps and sipping beers in the dugout. You can only speculate how guys wouldve done competing in other eras when you factor in rule changes, better training/conditioning, etc.
Vandy was the sexy dark horse pick before the season began and this was the year Stallings put it all together. I bought into it- again. What a strange team.

If we somehow had a basketball equivalent of the stopwatch, we'd be able to know empirically that Larry Bird and Kyle Wiltjer are basically the same dude.
No way McGee doesn't talk at some point IMO. If that were UK and I, loyalty would go a long way for my beloved program, BUT once I'm the sole reason for their downfall, getting **** on by everyone else involved to keep their Rosy cheeks above water and likely never allowed around that program again, that paycheck for a couple million is probably going to look very enticing. My hope is that he does before any final rulings come down.

When he said last night that if Giles is healthy he's better than Jahlil Okafor... Good lord, that dude can dig up dirt, but he needs to not share his opinions.
Part of the reason so few at UL are talking is because no one has clean hands. All those board members still supporting Ramsey, it's not L1C4 it's "oh snap, if this ship goes down I'm going with it". Ramsey is like Alonzo in Training Day, he made sure no one had clean hands, "all day, son. I've been planning this all week!"
McGee probably has some distorted view that if he remains loyal to Pitino and waits for the storm to blow over, Pitino's influence will get him back into basketball. Coaching was probably that dudes plan A B and C. I actually feel bad for McGee.

Larry Bird's brother thought he was just ok. About 25 years ago in the local E'town paper they had an interview with Larry Bird's brother who was in a management position at the Owensboro K-Mart. It was a really bizarre interview that I never forgot because it didn't really provide any insight into Larry's childhood and it really was his brother talking about himself. He did admit Larry was a better basketball player than him but there were a lot of things his brother said he could do better than Larry. Especially wrestling, that he always kicked Larry's *** and probably still could outwrestle Larry.
Pitino's recent move to calling players, former players, and virtually anyone under the age of 40 "son" really has been irking the **** out of me lately.
Well that does it for me, if Curry can't outpace a guy who was a #2 overall pick, 12 time all star (started as a rookie in the game), named a top 50 NBA all-timer, Naismith Hall of famer then there is no hope for him really.

I love Steph Curry. He's an awesome player. Just like Bird, Jordan, Magic, Big O, Russell, etc.
Just don't forget the old guys when declaring today's star is the greatest ever, or say ridiculous things like the old guys couldn't compete in today's game. Hard to judge across eras. Bird Magic and Jordan were the 3 greatest players when I grew up. Big O, Wilt, and Russell were the best when my dad was growing up. Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan had a nice run. Lebron, KD, and Steph are the greatest players now. Davis and Towns (pretty awesome to say!!!) will be the next "greatest" players ever. All are great and should be on any all time team. I think we're fondest to the players we associate with our youth/college years. Just the way it is.

When did the "olds v. news" debate turn into "old greats v. new greats"? What I said (what feels like months ago) is that most of the people who played back then couldn't hack it today - because they couldn't. Key word was "most." Obviously there are exceptions.

I’ve spent a great portion of my years fighting a losing battle. Tooth and nail, blood and bone, quip and keyboard have been the viscera and the tools of my war. I’ve used logic, reason, appeals to rational minds and every weapon at my disposal. I’ve gone through opinion, fact, statistics and old fashioned common sense in the way an archer goes through arrows. My quiver is empty now, I have nothing left to shoot. But I will not stand down.
We’re cheaters, we’re “everything that’s wrong with college basketball,” we’re “crazy.” These, and a host more, are the things said about UK over the years. Rick Pitino is the coach? He’s a cheater and too slick. Adolph Rupp? He was a racist and your titles don’t count. Tubby Smith? You ran a great coach out of town… but we don’t want to hire him because we laughed at you when you were down under him and proclaimed your fall from grace to be a permanent state of affairs. Nothing a Kentucky coach does, or a fan says, or how a player performs will ever change that. We will not be respected (For the most part) for our dedication, passion and pride. Our tradition and history will be vilified and have aspersion cast upon it in an attempt to blacken their achievement and merit. The hypocrisy of others will be ignored, the shaky foundations of a system whitewashed so that its stains can be overlooked in the pursuit of the false idolatry of the “student athlete,” as the stones are cast against us in the name of sin.
I never wanted to accept this role. I wanted folks to see the good and take the bad with a grain of salt because, in the end, we’re all guilty of something. I know now that it is never going to happen so I have chosen to embrace what so many have wanted to thrust upon us: We are the villains of this play and we are going to play the role to the hilt. We are the evil that is coming for you out of the dark. We are going to be every ugly, hateful and spiteful that you’ve said all along. We’re going to crush your Cinderella, beat the crap out of her Prince and then burn her house down with her wicked stepsisters in it crying for mercy.
Why? ‘Cause that’s what villains do. We’re not redeemable, we’re not anti-heroes and in the words of the American poet Common: “We straight nightmares.”
