Murray/Quarterman Trip-up/Tangle

If he was doing it on purpose he could have gotten him better than that. Looked like the guy tried to split him, Murray saw it late, was gonna pinch in to try and stop him, stepped on his shoe. Had to start stepping left to go to his bench. Why not make contact? Wasn't even a trip. Wasn't like he got mad at a play and kicked a leg out at the guy. Cmon now. Some of you all are caving since you called out the Duke kid for it and don't want to sound hypocritical. It's a completely different scenario.

Look at the second piece of this few second clip above. He looked right down at the guys foot. That shows at least as much intentionality as walking straight ahead and not even looking backwards and tripping a guy who is walking behind you.

It isn't a big thing. It is a damn physical game, and at times that stuff happens. Dumb and a bit immature, but not some malicious act. It is the same as what Allen, only once, down to the awkward proximity of the guy brushing closely by before he was tripped. The thing is, even when Allen did it once, you guys were convinced he was some terrible person and dirty player, so it leaves this somewhat awkward.

As I said about Grayson, it was a bit dumb and immature, but not a huge deal.

I think most of you guys on here need glasses because. Murray stepped on the side of his foot. Murray's foot clearly is bent if anybody was tripped it was the LSU guy trying to trip/ turn Murray's ankle.

Murray did step pigeon-toed, but I can't for the life of me figure how that was intended to trip Quarterman Yes, Quarterman did trip, but how could Murray have anticipated that Quarterman was going to put his leg and foot into the middle of Murray's stride? Quarterman put his right leg to the right of Murray's left leg. Who walks like a vaudeville routine? If you just look at the feet, it looks intentional, but if you think about it, it can't have been. The trips we've seen this season have involved fairly exaggerated effort. Murray's foot turned about an inch.

It turned an inch because. Murray stepped on his foot.

Im not a troll..he did it on purpose period. Take the blue goggles off...now having said that..we dont know what was going on the whole game..im sure trash talking going on but Murray tripped him on purpose

You need to step back and gather yourself because he didn't trip dude. Murray stepped on the side of his foot and dude tried to pull his foot up at the same time. That's why Murray's foot is bent sideways

As several folks mentioned, Murray turned his foot in at the last second, presumably to cut short the guys step. The LSU player didn't step on anyone's foot; his toes were heading down when he got tripped.

No big deal; the guy was being physical and a bit of a prick, so Murray gave him a little FU. You've go to be able to take a little bit and not be a *****.

I just screened shot the LSU players shoe already on the floor in front of Murray before Murray steps his foot down on his shoe and before his shoe "turns".
If anything Murray steps on his toes while LSU player is picking foot up while jogging which causes him to "trip".

Murray definitely looked down while he made an awkward toe-turned step. I'd say he did it on purpose. However, it was no where near the blatant cheap shots of Gayston Allen. Did anyone see him trip Brice Johnson tonight, and try to grab Berry's balls at the end of the game? That guys has some problems. Shocking that this kid plays for the leader of men. Shocking I tell you.

he walked between the two closer to murray and was looking down where he was walking the whole time, they even replayed it and commentators even talked about him doing it

Quarterman has to be one of the dumbest dudes alive. He basically tripped himself over Jamal's foot trying to cut him off and be a badass.

If you're gonna try to be a condescending mother-figure on someone else's board, then you'd better be damn sure you've crossed your Ts and dotted your Is.

Grayson's first trip (not the stupid second one) was a result of him falling on a layup, and then sprawled out and totally out of the play, tripping a kid who was running with the ball - it was dangerous and foolish, and it was unprovoked.

There's nothing particularly mature about Jamal's response to the LSU kid, but the kid Allen tripped was minding his own business, racing down the court, body at an angle.. The kid Murray tripped was trying to push his way through two guys who were walking basically shoulder to shoulder in a blatant attempt to punk them. If you push a man with your chest unprovoked, you need to be ready for the consequences.

In a perfect world, would Murray turn the other cheek and let disrespect like that slide? Of course. But his demonstration that he's not going to be punked in about as mild a way as possible is not the same as your kid acting like a brat because the play didn't work out for him.

It's not comparable to the first trip vs UL (and I don't have a bunch of overflowing love for UL.)

And you know what? If you'd like to come and ***** about a UK board claiming that the second, tamer, Grayson trip was intentional instead of giving him the benefit of the doubt, that's still a dumb argument, because that's not how home boards work.

80/20 certainty doesn't grant you benefit of the doubt on rival home boards. Not a single Duke fan (or any other rival fan) has ever given me even a sliver of a decent reason why Cal would hook Camby up with an agent when the kid was already signed up in playing for him (zero benefit for Cal, ridiculous risk). You can be 99.9% certain that he didn't, because it makes about as much sense as a slug taking a salt bath. yet because there is no lock-down 100% case to prove that he didn't, your homer friends and all the other rival fans will cling to that .01% and claim that the whole thing is on Cal.

So when you have something that is way, way more open to interpretation than that (like I said, I see the second trip as maybe 80/20 that Grayson didn't mean anything), you're being ridiculous to chastise rival home boards for going with the 20.

Either way, you're wrong.

Now go over there and be sorry for it.

Anybody that thinks quarterman didn't walk into his path and INTENTIONALLY get tangled up is a ******* moron.
Murray probably said "why the hell are you tripping yourself trying to get a ******* technical in a blowout loss" because that's exactly what happenend. Anybody that saw anything else is a complete moron.

Nothing to see.....a simple tie up.........

I disagree. Murray clearly turned his foot towards Quarterman. It looked clearly intentional. He embarrassed himself and the BBN. Cals needs to sit his *** out and teach him a lesson. This isn't the first time his selfish actions have come up in a game. I love Murray, but there's no place for that at UK. We're better than that.

I don't see anything on purpose other than Quarterman being a girl

Murray's back was turned and was walking with a teammate - probably mid conversation - when this happened. He probably had a tenth of a second to even figure out what's going on. He never even looked down at the foot.

Look at Grayson Allen vs this and it's a HUGE difference

Somewhere right this minute cut nets is thanking the message board gods for ulismyman taking over as the new rafters most beloved poster. Ulismyman is also an excellent at picking point spreads as well the winning team and banking from it

What a horrible take. It was a very minor incident started by Nickelman. No punishment needed. Crazy talk.

I thought it was awesome you don't walk in between two players from the other team. You are asking for it. That being said I think what started the ruckus, was late in the 2nd half Murray was going down the floor and Quarterman was bumping into him. Murray pleaded with the stripe but nothing was done.

Quarterman got tripped just like that kid from UL got cold cocked by Dakari last year.

That was the funniest fake fall since Tim Conway retired.

Who decides to walk between 2 UK players like that? Its Quarterman's own fault.

And he was looking down while walking between the 2.

Murray is into martial arts,it was the classic walking cat defense. It is not wise to come between 2 Cats minding their own business:pray:

Especially when he had the whole court he could have used. In a public place, when you see two people walking together, do you step around them or walk between them? I think we all know the answer to this. It was a garbage move by him.

Quarteman was being a douche by walking thru him and Ulis.
Murray adjusted his stride ever so slightly to make sure he tripped him.
I'm glad he did it. I love Murray's mean streak.
He got what he deserved IMHO.

This right here^^^^^^^. What other purpose would anyone have trying to bump his way between two guys walking toward their own bench and then immediately turning a sharp right in front of one of them. Quaterman had a whole damn basketball court to jog up but chose a small gap between Briscoe and Murray.

He went after his target and the results were he didn't get the results he was looking for. Too bad the refs didn't throw Quartermans' punk a$$ out of the game. His intentions were obvious to anyone with more than one brain cell.(nothing personal doookies)
