He always gave backhanded compliments to Harrelson too his senior year. Constantly prefaced every comment with a qualifier or caveat. He doesn't identify Willis as one of his guys, he was just a guy he took because he was an instate kid (who was tall and had upside) and it kept others from getting him.

Cal had no intention of giving him a chance and is probably looking for ways to not need him still.

I opened this thread because I thought, by the title, that something was said where Cal was actually defending Willis. Then I read the crud the OP had to say and then this terrible post by kyboy. Unbelievable what some UK "fans" can come up with on this board to fit their own little mind agendas against Cal. And, this sort of junk after a very nice win when I was feeling good about the team when I got up this morning? Wish I had never opened this thread now. Please, people, remind me not to think the OP might finally have some valid stuff to say in the future and to just ignore his threads, help me!!!

How quickly facts turn to BS. Listening to pre-game Cal was asked if Willis would play because he was warming up with the team. Cal said since he heard nothing from the medical/therapy folks then Willis would not play.

Everytime somebody asks about him he changes the subject..whats up with that?

He possibly realizes the questioner doesn't know as much about basketball as he should or he wouldn't be asking the question. Therefore, in order not to embarrass the questioner, he moves on with minimal elaboration.

Very polite of him.

Cal is a good recruiter, but he isn't very good at fan x's and o's. It looks like to me he would have learned by now that this is our team. If he wasn't so stubborn, he could read Rafters and understand the changes he needs to make as well as the info he needs to disperse. I get the feeling that he has his own way of doing things and doesn't, forgive my French, give two ***** what we think. If he thinks he's going to have any success with his separatist attitude, well I've got news for him. Surrender to the power Cal. It's a fan first program.

This is either sarcasm or total bs. I choose sarcasm because if it is then it's brilliant.

There have been a few answers in this thread. Is it that you did not like any of them? Is there one specific answer you would like to hear? Could you give more information about the question that might help us find an answer that would satisfy you? Maybe you should query Jerry Tipton he asks this kind of tough question. He could ask during Cal's next press conference. You could also call into Cal's radio show.
