I didn't think we knew who the officials were for the games until a few hours before tip?
This. I didn't think they were announced until game day. I guess the refs themselves know in advance, so maybe there's a list somewhere.

Yeah, pretty sure the Ref assignments aren't made public until just before games.....but that'll be interesting to see Sirmons and Cal again.

If Sirmons does do that game, we have no chance of winning. That atmosphere for Senior Night, probably still without Willis, Sirmons. That's just too much.

Normally it isn't announced, but it's not like it's a mystery (they usually stay in the same hotels, travel with the media, etc...).

Given the history with Cal, it's not shocking that someone would break this news.

I thought MJ said he wouldn't be officiating any more of our games?

Yep. I wonder what is up? Didn't MJ also say that Poy was gone for the year? If so, I am very glad he was wrong about that one but hope he isn't wrong about this one!

About par or under par for the course with the ncaa, should tell us all we need to know about our suspicions regarding agendas for both ncaa & the officials.

I don't remember him saying Poy was done for the year. Where was that?

As much as I dislike the NCAA the officials assigned to an SEC game comes from the SEC head of officials. He has a pool of officials and their availability is based on who is free that day. Many officials contract with different conferences. I wish someone would stick a microphone in front of Jake Bell's (Head of SEC officiating) face and ask some hardball questions.

I guess that guy would be free for any game available. he may not be too popular with most teams....(From reading articles..) Yeah he may ref for free too....

247 sports says Sirmons scheduled to do the Vandy game! I don't know how to link it. Apologize if there is another thread on it!

That coupled with "@ Vandy" and our injuries makes for a very hard W.

Maybe Vegas knew the referees and that's why we opened even.

One would think that Sirmons is smart enough to realize he has to be on his best behavior?
This happens all time with refs.

To Sirmons this is just another game for him, just like the last one he called. Officials don't dwell on games like the fans do. They know themselves when they miss a call or get it right. You can't officiate games and let the fans get in your head. I doubt very much that he is doubting his call in the SC game and has probably forgot about it by now.
It is the nature of the job for fans to be upset about some calls, because they are bias and the officials know that.

So to say they realize they have to be on their best behavior goes without saying. They know that. I would think the coaches and players has to do the same.

[laughing]

This is the single most delusional post I've seen on RR this year.

Congrats.

MJ still tweeting that he's still hearing sirmons will not be calling any more UK games. So, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
