- Vinyl was extremely well done by the good folks at Home Box Office. Yes they have gratuitous sex, because HBO. And prolific drug use, because HBO. And a fantastic soundtrack, because duh, the era.

But one scene in particular that likely only CMD and I will appreciate shows how they took great detail in recreating a scene from The Song Remains the Same in which Peter Grant is chastising scalpers for selling counterfeit Zeppelin merchandise. They did about as well as you could at duplicating Plant and Bonhams outfits and look and played off that scene with our protagonist trying to salvage his shot at signing the band.

Also like how they're essentially taking the little blonde pop-tart who is the record labels drug mule and having her discover & create The Sex Pistols.

Not sure if it will be a GYERO favorite because music is the Achilles heel of this thread, but I highly recommend it if for nothing else all the drugs and sex and Olivia Wilde who is holy **** some kind of raven unicorn :fire:.

I love it already.

That said, it seems to be harder to get an Uber driver in Lexington.

Granted I don't travelflaunt internationally very often to compare but I have never had issues getting Uber rides in Lex. Hell, had a driver pick me and the wife up in 2 mins at Chinoe Pub the other night near 2AM.

Better Call Saul with a nice season premiere.

First time making chicken parm was a success. Obviously there is always room for improvement, but this was damn good.

How are you 40 years old and just now making chicken parm for the first time, Bob? You seem to like to cook, but I guess chicken parm doesn't fit the realm of RED MEAT, so that could explain it.

What recipe did you use?

^ Versus. [smoke]

These stories/studies out on Antacid meds & Dementia are kinda concerning. Was on NBC Nightly News last night, and Today Show this morning.

I've dabbled off and on over the years with Prilosec.... Of course, with me it boils down mostly to when I'm eating well vs. not, overall.

My agency manager is 160lbs dripping wet and he's been on them for 15 years, as have a few of my friends. I'd rather get run over by a train than deal with that ****.

I saw that this morning in the Skimm. Hmm. My advice is to just eat right and lay of the chronic meds if possible. However, I am not a doctor, so I don't really know jack **** about anything.

Matthews has a little baby-MKG look to him.

Could see him REALLY filling out over the years and being a monster as a college rebounding/defensive wing...he's got a nice base to build on -- so athletic & long already.

He's the worst on the team at finishing through contact though, jesus. He's 1-27 this year on potential 3 point plays...most of which are not even hard fouls.

CBB Takes:

- I just love this time of year. :raised_hands:

- Thoughts on Oklahoma: Title Contender?

Honestly, they're the one-seed I'd least like to see if we're a 4. But I also have a hard time seeing a jump-shooting team winning 6 straight. This past week shows that they actually CAN go cold.

- I like Michigan to make a run in the NCAAs.

- UK's rout at Bama is looking better every day.

- What a peculiar effort from Vandy this year- good on defense, bad on offense. What the hell?

- This season is a hoot. You have some pegging UNC as a 1-seed, others as a 3. That's just one example. Going to be some crazy seeding going on.

- Speaking of the Heels, schedule gets real real for them starting tomorrow:

Duke, Miami, @NC State, @UVa, Syracuse, @Duke

- [roll] @ Forde taking another cheap shot at Calipari.

- Loved Briscoe's reaction to Murray's dunk. I just love everything about that kid...besides his jumpshot. This team's chemistry has come a long way.

Speaking of remakes I cringe every time I see anything about this Ghostbusters remake. Who thought this was a good idea?

Thought Cal's planned behavior Saturday was genius. We've sucked on the road all year. He ups the intensity level, gets kicked out, and pisses his team off in a good way. And we proceed to blow out the opposing home team. Genius. If you don't understand this, you're not a college basketball or sports.

Oklahoma is just a more consistent, more vetern Kentucky - Good PG (Ulis is better, doh) and dominate scorer on the wing (Hield/Murray) and a white guy that can rebound and shoot (Willis/Spangler). I'm not too worried about them against Kentucky, though I feel like they could do work against a team like North Carolina.

Is it a foregone conclusion that one of Payne/Barbee will be gone next year to become a HC? Pastner slides right in (since he's been complete garbage the last two years at Memphis).

Back to lurking.

He should do it every game. And get it sponsored. Like a Whitaker bank shot.

Big *** Fans ejection or something.

* I refrained from making a male enhancement clinic premature ejection joke because I like to leave some low hanging fruit out there.

Wouldn't surprise me if that post of the breakfast club is a subtle way of shaming some of those bigs. Ridiculous that our best-in-the-nation backcourt can set their alarms but the frontcourt that's singlehandedly limited this team all season needs their beauty rest. They should force Lee and Skal to go whether they like it or not. Pretty sure Briscoe could drag Skal to the weight room by the ankle with one hand.

There was a Carl Weathers for about 10 years running, listed on our fraternity composites. Think it began with Bonzo's class and became a random thing. Other random names to make the composite: Bud Selig and Todd Bridges (of Different Strokes fame).

Called in to Cal's show last night and talked to Kenny because 1) I'm a Billy Joe Wildcat at heart and B) I was driving to a F/JV game and was bored. Also, I had a legitimate question (which was dodged very professionally by Coach Payne). So I think I'll include it right here and see if any of you guys would know the answer.

In the KHSAA, coaches have a chance to "rate" officials towards the end of the season. In our region, we can scratch up to 3 (per school - girls coaches and boys coaches need to agree on them though). That means our scratched refs won't be on our District Tourney games and won't be on any of our games for the next season. We are also encouraged not scratch that many unless it is totally necessary. These coaches' ratings help determine which officials get to ref in the post season and each region sends at least one ref to the Sweet 16 in Rupp. So, officials have some accountability for their actions in games.

My question is what does the NCAA do? I don't think there are "conference" officials. Refs like Pat Adams, Tony Greene, et al. officiate many different conference games so it's not like football where there are "SEC crews" or "Big 10 crews." How much say do the coaches have on who gets there games?

I didn't reference this (I guess I alluded to it though), but refs that seemingly have a personal beef with a coach shouldn't be allowed to call their games. It happens in high school. Some personalities just don't mix and it's best for all involved if the ref and coach stay away from each other. I don't get the feeling it's like that in the NCAA. I have no idea who "rates" them, but I'm willing to bet college coaches' hands are tied in this regard and a "Head of Officials" type of dude assigns/rates refs (?)

Spake said Skal and Lee were in class, so it's not like they're getting up at 6 am for these workouts.

I disagree a bit. I think UK's guards get to the paint better. Oklahoma relies a lot more on the 3.

I just love that Cal is starting to feel it with this team. Dude is ready to go to war. He's farred up and so am I.

I think Cal knew he was gonna flirt with a tech early, but don't think he planned to get thrown out 2 minutes in.

I *do* think once he got the first, he completely didn't give a **** at that point and was willing to push it -- but think he was legitimately shocked/furious when he got tossed, although he most certainly deserved it at that point.
