I agree with all the previous posters who pointed out that this behavior needs to be controlled by the refs. It's just another manifestation of the abysmal state of officiating in college basketball. Carrera throws elbows up in our players' faces all day long, but Briscoe gets tee'd up for bouncing the ball hard?! Ridiculous.
That is the point. That WAS a proper technical on briscoe... It just stands out because of all the other missed calls on our opponents

Would like to have him on our team.

With that being said, if you go back and watch the play where he and Humphries were both going for a rebound which resulted in a foul on Humphries, he takes a swipe at Humphries.

Knew then he was rattled.

I'm not so sure he had any intent of doing anything but playing as hard as he could. I respect that and wish we could see more players give it their all. Was his play a little rough? Yea but when you're 6'5 going against the front line of the other team you can't tippy toe in there.
I agree he started out that way until he got upset that USC was getting blown out then he got frustrated and lost his cool and started trying to hurt people. I believe Cal mentioned before game that he wasn't going to be bullied by Frank Martin and that even his players had those faces he makes, I do believe a little more to than hard play.

The thrown elbow at Lee should have gotten him tossed out of the game. It was right in front of the ref. I hope Cal sends that to the league office for review. They won't do anything to the player but the ref should be reprimanded for not calling the Flagrant Foul. Total bush league.

...to play such chippy basketball. He's 6'5", strong, a good shooter, an excellent rebounder, and plays with a lot of heart. Unfortunately, watching the replay of today's game, it's a wonder a few UK players weren't seriously hurt. Carrera lost his cool on a lot of occasions, pushed after plays were over no fewer than ten times, and generally played like a bull in a china shop.

I always relish the opportunity for UK to play the very best. I love it when UK goes up against game opponents. By contrast, I hope I never again have to cross paths with guys who are injuries waiting to happen, regardless of how talented they are. Carrera today was in that latter group. Hope it was just frustration over getting throttled and not something that's going to injure someone.

What do you expect from a player who plays for someone that looks and acts like he is about to murder one of his players during every basketball game. One can only imagine what goes on in practice.

Its okay to play with a little aggression but Carrera was just out of control at times. The worst thing was the refs allowed him to get away with the entire game. I'm just glad we didn't have any players injured.

All that refuse to lose attitude and rather kill someone than lose, but at the end of the day he still got his *** handed to him. I don't want him on my team. He's a straight up punk. I love an enforcer on my team, but there's a difference in being an enforcer and being a dirty punk. He played like a dirty punk. He would sit with the walk ons at UK. He didn't impress me. His numbers where empty and created by the refs enabling him to get fat at the line. Most of his points where garbage. I'll pass on him.

Demarcus Cousins was an absolute monster here and was the dirtiest player in college lol. One of the greatest things ever is the game at Vandy when he was taunting the crowd and got Oglevi all tore up LMAO.

I hope Cal sends it to the league also, I don't know what they can do and what they can't do. They can definitely call the ref on it and I don't know why they can't suspend the player. We had a football player that was suspended by the coach (under pressure from the SEC) for a play that was not flagged during the game. I don't know why they can't

He's a guy who under another coach would have been an above average SEC player on an average team -- he doesn't have the skills to start for a good team. Frank Martin turned him into a guy who is a borderline thug on the court. I'm glad Kentucky got out of there without Murray or somebody else getting hurt for the rest of the year.
That is BS..He played too tough but his strength is his passion. He never starts fights or runs his mouth. Not everyone has bench warmers that are high school AA. That being said Cat fans are pretty classy overall.

Don't want to show my age here with my memory, but who was the bug eyed coach that told a player to break the arm of a competitor a few years ago? I think he did too

Specifically, following the rebound battle with Humphries at around 9:40 in the first half and following the Lee dunk. Two nasty swings by Carrera. Refs were right there both times. He'll connect sometime and there will be a battle royal. And it will be partly the fault of every ref who ignored the prelude.

He is kind of dirty and doesn't have to be because he is a good enough player to do it playing clean, I'm glad he is a senior so I don't have to look at him anymore.

I would agree with you, except, that several of his actions came AFTER a play was completed. He wasn't being an aggressive player then, he was being a punk.
Much like Lee clapping in the faces of other players.

You're looking at it from a different angle bro. Cousins is one of my favorite players EVER. I like that type of in your face/dirty players. I want a kid like Boogie every year. Don't you remember Johnny24's avatar? I think it was Demarcus Cousins elbowing that UL pansy wasn't it?

If you really are a UK fan promoting dirty play, then I can't support you.

Physical play is fine. Dirty play never is.

You remember Ramel Bradley getting in Bogut's face? He said "Do something" Yeah. That's the kind of thing I like. Toughness. Attitude. Swag.

I love Carrera's competitive drive and fire, but I agree with the OP here. He was overboard yesterday. And the referees never did anything about it. That's the reason why they were undefeated at home until yesterday. If they can't beat people, they just knock people around and beat them into submission.

he isn't...

therefore he tries to play bully ball. He had couple plays where he should have been called technical.

So no one is going to mention Carrera pulling a Montrezl Harrell ??? He was standing over a foot inside the baseline with perfect balance , had 3 players to pass it to but threw a hard ball right off of briscoe's back when he turned around to run and play defense

Harrell got suspended for that same thing last year. Absolute bullsh*t that the refs didn't call that a technical when they were staring right at it.

If anyone would be kind enough to put up a clip of what I'm talking about I would be grateful! Was in the 2nd half.
