My cousin's wedding is in Cincunnatah on Sat. Lass and I are staying at the Marriot Springhill Suites on Eden Park Drive near Mount Adams.

GYERO Cincy folks... What's a good place in that area or close by to watch the Cats?

( Also, keep this in GYERO but thinking about hitting up Montgomery Inn for romantic V Day brunch on Sunday. She'll love it. Get out the bib, honey.. Full rack is coming out hot!)

I witnessed Brannen literally rip the top off of a girl going into the Waterfront on a Thursday College Night. She was crying & he was dogcussing her. Rueben Patterson drug him up the boat ramp and away from the scene.

I remember how much I feared/loathed any of the other good teams during that 96 run - and there were a shitload of them. I downplayed/hooted at them every chance I could.

- Cincy - Danny Fatson blows; bunch of thugs
- Kansas - Pussies; Raef LaFrentz sucks
- UMass - Not deep enough; BAH GAWD PAYBACK'S COMIN
- G'town - Terrible without Iverson; piss on Victor Page
- UConn - Ray Allen and a buncha turds
- Wake - Tim Duncan is a little puss boi; just triple team him and they suck (true)

Holy lord, was that season loaded with talent.

Look I love goetta, I even like Skyline. But let's be honest, Montgomery Inn ribs are really nothing special.

Sorry if that offends your tender Ohio identity.

What- you'd take Iverson, Allen, Camby, Duncan and Pierce over Dunn, Hield, Valentine, Brice Johnson and Utoff?

That year was just filthy with talent. Even back then it was ridiculous. Seems like there was a ton of teams that went through the year losing 5 or fewer games. Maybe that's nostalgia talking, but I don't think so.

There were even some random teams with good records that year. Texas Tech and my boy Darvin Ham rolled through a ****** conference undefeated iirc. They laid a beating on UNC in the tourney.

I like Montgomery Inn ribs. And it has nothing at all to do with where the restaurant is located.

2006 (LSU, 14-2)
2007 (Florida, 13-3)

2009 (LSU, 13-3)
2010 (UK, 14-2)
2011 (Florida, 13-3)
2012 (UK, 16-0)

The Waterfront saw some stuff go down for sure. Probably had as much to do with the Bengals lost decade of the 90s as anything else.

Always heard a lot about Caddies back then. This was before I was even in college. Just as I was turning of legal drinking age, it was the last hurrah for Main Street (present setting of Millennial renaissance) and "Have a Nice Day," "Bar Cincinnati," "Jefferson Hall," "Jump" etc.

The Golden Age in Cincy/NKY was when I was in my early 20's…

Caddy's, Waterfront, Hippopotamus Watering Hole, Oscar's, Sleep Out Louie's, Mr. K's, Yucatan Liquor Stand, Prime Time

I've had a lot of fun deriding UC's arena as of late.

"Soviet Natatorium" hits the nail on the head, IMHO. I've gotten a lot of silent, begrudging nods from that one.

Would have to guess ABH was the King of this era.

Nice try, Willy.

Late, but while we're sharing..... I once saw a hammered Bobby Brannen ride a mechanical bull at a country bar in Huntington, WV. Of course he was wearing a sleeveless shirt. It was funny because his feet would touch the ground when the bull went low. Rode the hell out of it. He was with Jackson Julson--a big honk from East Carter who played at Cincy.

I registered a user name last March and had this hot take loaded and ready to be my first GYERO post right before the Cincinnati tournament game, but the moment passed before I could drop the knowledge. I'm just happy for the opportunity to use it now.

Just saw the Boise game on PTI(pti)...wow, what a crock of **** -- I'd be furious.

Don't think I've ever seen that happen before...and it was on the road, so no blaming the friendly home clock guy either.

With Valentine's Day on Sunday, had the flowers sent today to the lass's work. Before all the other hens got theirs... Sounds like it got them a cluckin'.

Veteran move.
