Yeah that stat right along with the +25 more FT attempts and 4 of our guys fouling out to none of theirs is pretty damning. I'm not one to blame the refs, I'll just let those numbers speak for themselves. They appear to be VERY one sided. KU played extremely aggressive, I thought they were going to be the ones fouling out...

Not really. We had players fouling out that completely changed the flow of the game. So yeah, they didn't hit all their FT's but those fouls piled up quickly

I do not want to complain about refs. But I certainly see why Calipari does not like these home and home situations. I am liking the neutral court showdowns more and more.

Back to the stat prompting the OP's thread...1997 must have been a bad year for whistles. Last night was UK's worst free-throw attempt differential in a game (-25) since March 2nd, 1997 against South Carolina (-29) as was reported by Jason Marcum at A Sea of Blue. For those who call Rupp Arena "Corrupt Arena" probably forgot that game was Senior Day at UK.

Of course in the last game of 1997, Arizona never scores a field goal in the finals to beat UK while getting ten FTs.

Clearly last night was one for the record books and it had to be called as it was in order for KU to sneak out the backdoor with a win. KU will beg for the game to be called like the aforementioned 1997 game in Rupp next season. It will be Cal's first game against KU in Rupp. Dear lord...the carnage to come...

I don't ever see our fans complain when we get home cooking in RA, which is THE toughest place in the country for visiting teams.

We were losing the rebounding battle in the first half but were up by 6. It's impossible to win against that type of whistle. The refs stole and that is the correct word, stole our aggression in almost every area of the game. Rebounding included.

Kentucky was getting hammered every possession,every rebound,every drive with NO CALL. Doug Simmons,Whitehead,and Pat Adams should be investigated for rigging games and kicked out of their profession

yeah, like last week when we went to the line 6 times and vu went 25 times.

I watch this game again, the refs was calling fouls on ky that just was not there, Kan was coming over the backs on rebounds, yet ky still had a great chance to win Brisco could not make FT down the strech, was else is new, Murray did not show up at times, I wander in games like that if Cal ever thank about some zone, with folks in foul trouble and the way they was driving..

It's an intimidating environment, but not because of the refs.

Come on people. You knew it was going to be like this. At Kansas. At North Carolina. At Duke. At Indiana. You have to be 10 points better, at least, to win in these arenas. Only place where we get a somewhat fair whistle is at Louisville, and sometimes that's not the case. Chalk it up to a valuable learning lesson and don't look back.
