No way. First, he's not done at Louisville unless they can make the case that Pitino knew about the Whores in Minardi Hall. They won't be able to make that case. Even if he should have known - won't matter. You think Louisville - scandal university itself - will do the "right thing" and push him out? Look no further than the school President, who's suffered one embarrassment and scandal after another, and 18 of 20 board members just voted in support of him. He had sex on a restaurant table for crying out loud with no consequence!!

When that happens, he has very public flirtations with other jobs - Hawks, Cavs, UK even. Then the MSU community goes overboard with Love and Admiration, and Tom feels the love, and rejects the other job that he never wanted to begin with.
Pitino just wants everyone to tell him how great he is and how they couldn't live without him.

Actually it isn't, it is county option like alcohol is in Kentucky------and the county LV is in, Clark County is "dry". The nearest county line is about a 50 mile trip, and another 10 miles or so, but Slick Rick could afford a fleet of limosines.

Actually, he would be THE sports figure in town, just like Tark the Shark was. Tark was buddies with Sinatra and all the Vegas regulars. Not only is Vegas a much bigger city than Louisville now, but it's like New York in the desert. Pitino would be in heaven.
Pitino would make UNLV a Final Four threat again. And they would laugh at his scandals at Louisville there.
Still, this is just Pitino's agents throwing stuff at the media wall, looking for a reaction. Pitino probably put them up to it, just to give himself an option should things go South here.
I still think the administration has gone quiet on him, and it's driving him crazy. Hence his outburst in the press conference.

Just because we are CBB nuts in Kentucky doesn't mean the rest of the world, especially Vegas, gives a rat's patootie about an aging, sex-addicted sixty-year old hoops coach. Tark was a special case who had been there a loooooong time, was notorious for his fights with the NCAA and eventually cuffed enough talent to be nationally relevant. Moreover, Sinatra's dead--so is Sammy Davis Jr.
A carpetbagger like Rick would have an uphill slog to get to that level in the sports world in Vegas (or LA or Dallas or wherever) today. Nor would I be so sure people in Vegas (the rank and file folk who live there) would be at all dismissive of Rick's peccadillos. That is at its core a very conservative state, a red state, and shows no signs of becoming the socially-progressive place you suggest. Yeah, in the brothel, Rick would be "just another John" but the rest of the state isn't going to be so blind.
