yes...we used to sneak into Alumni gym on snowy days and play all day long...until we would get kicked out
It was open for games when we were there. Used to run games with Sean Woods, Dale Brown.
that place had some crazy spots on the floor...the ball would just not bounce or go off in odd angle...
That's sad. Everybody, enjoy and make the most of your life while you can.
I opened this thread feeling bad that an historic building was coming down, but this is worse. I've been away for a long while, but I certainly remember Alumni Gym as a solid UK guy and poster. RIP, sir!
Maybe because there isn't one? Call me suspicious of a poster that joined in 2010 and has 13 posts with 6 of them in this thread.
I mean, I understand not wanting to mention cause of death with him being so young and I'm sure it's a personal thing.
I think the not linking of the obituaries is making people have questions. After BLW lied about passing, it's hard to not question everything I guess.

I've been here since 2001. I remember Alumni Gym pretty well, but it feels like I hadn't seen him post in a while. RIP

Edited....I was doing two things at one time and wrote "younger" when I was thinking "older." I think I was going to say something about him being younger than I thought he was.

I thought alumni was older and came back as another handle bluegrassbaron. I think we all might be confused as to whom you're talking about.
AG poster I remember posted alot here and in the last several months posted things that got some concern from others in the BBN. He got blasted. (My life story on rafters, lol) Then, might have been a poster reset, there was this new AG voice. different.
And Now HE is dead.

Didnt agree with some of his posts but he loved UK and hated the tar heels so he was ok in my book.

2. The original Alumni Gym was a number of things, positive and negative. Loving attention was his number one negative.

Damn, I do remember some of his posts, but don't think I was fortunate to have conversations with him. Always has a great knowledge of college basketball. Sorry to hear of his passing.
