I live in the Detroit area and see that Dakari has a brother named Kamani playing for U. Detroit Jesuit a top high school team in the country. He is a 6'5 sophomore and very good. It states he moved here from KY. Is this news to anyone.
I don't think they left that area and then went back. His family is from NY. They've lived in Lexington once before when Johnson was in middle school. That's when he fell in love with UK. They then moved back up north where Johnson started playing high school ball in NJ (same team as MKG), before finally moving to Florida to finish out his high school career. You'd have thought if Dakari's family had left that area they'd have never went back.

My son played against Dakari's brother and his mom at the High St Y. Said he was slow and got abused. Their mom could hold her own.Dakari was slow footed and once his feet left the paint he was in no mans land on defense but damn... You just can't teach B.I.G. He sure didn't get pushed around a lot and he hustled. He didn't have the talent that the rest of our main guys did but he was huge, literally and hustled.
Side note. What's his brothers game like?
