Louisville does not rely on freshmen and they can shoot the ball. Add in their length on defense and they are a good veteran team

Teams and players don't learn or improve when they beat inferior teams by 40. It's a very hollow victory.

UL is maxed out. Other than a few freshmen backups , they are who they will be at the end of the season. Never under estimate how valuable playing over the summer is and the extra practice time.... I mean its half the reason we destroyed people (plus our talent) for half a season last year.

Lets see how we do against EKU because thats the first team and last team we play this season thats comparable to UL's cupcakes.

South Florida may be the worst team on our schedule. That game was on a neutral court, however, so it'll be on par with that home game against Eastern.

We don't have a schedule like UL's. They finally played a mens team the other night, how'd that look?

They actually looked very good. They played the #3 team in the country on their home court and was in a position to win. A very bad charge call against them with under 4 to play was a big play in that game. OTOH, we played and looked like crap against a team that lost to Monmouth.

UofL will have a much better year this year than what many on here were touting and likewise I don't think we are going to be quite as good as we hoped. The game at rupp at this moment in time IMO will be a toss up. Both teams in the end will lose around 7-8 regular season games.

Well i will say this about the cupcakes....and it is difficult on this board to make an observation without being called a troll....they do what they are supposed to do to the cupcakes...they destroy them. What i dont understand is they were awful over the summer and now they are good...hows that happen

Exactly. They lost to the soon to be number 1 team in the country on their court by 4. Louisville is very good and people need to deal with that. I hate em, but facts are facts.

Does Louisville even have a quality win? And why are you so worried about Louisville anyway? I really don't get it. And you wonder why people call you a troll. Fascinating.

Umm, teams do have the ability to improve with game experience. Didn't you say you were a coach at one time?

That was a nice moral victory for your Cards. We've actually beaten a top 10 team in Duke. Your teams best win is North Florida. LMMFAO.

We both have one loss, and they have not played anyone outside of Michigan St that is any good at all. We have. Their next tough test is against us and then you will know what kind of team they have.

Grand Canyon University is a team that JUST transitioned to D1. They've never been to an NCAA tourney.
Kentucky beat them last year by 40, as well in the regular season debut of the platoon system. We allowed them 45 points.

Sorry . . . SDF? Is that anywhere near BFE? What is SDF?
Standiford Field? SDF is the Louisville International Airport code. The only reason I know this is because I work for Amazon and their fulfillment centers are named after the closest airport. SDF4 SDF9 etc. I've never heard anyone actually reference it to where they live though.

I was stress free against all the mid majors since I knew UK was going to get up by double digits and cruise like they did. I was a little uneasy against Illinios state but I knew UK would make a run eventually and they did. I was fairly confident against Duke as UK was playing well and seemed to be in control most the game.

Now UCLA I was stressed as I could tell UCLA was playing the game of their lives and UK seemed rattled. Not a good idea to play on the other side of the country for a true road game this early in the year. If I was making the schedule I wouldn't schedule any true non conference road games, just neutral.

the more I've thought about this, the more I must respectfully disagree. We found out a lot about our Cats on Thursday night; a lot of it not as good as we had hoped. Our guys were out of their comfort zone - and, as you said, were on the other side of the country in a true road game. As much as a loss sucked, it was a good learning experience. We have to go on the road in SEC play - even if most of the teams aren't quite the top of the D1 world, several of them can easily beat us.
It's good we found out early, and can work to fix whatever problems there are. This team now knows they can lose in regular season, and they have to learn how to play through foul trouble and injuries. This could end up being a very good thing for our young Cats. Time will tell
