The NCAA wanted no part of this, so this was predictable. Skal is a Haitian earthquake survivor who got out of that country the only way he knew how, and by all indications he's a solid student. Unless Gerald Hamilton is a registered agent, or unless there was video evidence of him being handed a briefcase full of cash by an agent, it would have looked incredibly petty and vindictive for the NCAA to stop Skal from playing. They can be petty and vindictive, as we all know, but it would have been very, very hard to justify in this specific case.
I agree that the Haitian earthquake survivor angle made it hard for the NCAA to go after this. What are they going to do for an encore, punch babies?

We just got our(arguably) best player eligible! Murray could be our best, but... HEY...Brisco and Ulis could rally the troops if our best 2 guard went down, but I really felt Lab was our most indispensable player this year. Whoop, Whoop, Whoop it up!

First things first, Cal was never worried, he always said "we're fine, he'll be cleared" so where are you getting that Cal was worried? Your whole argument is flawed. There was never anything wrong here. Sandy Bell and her team looked at the facts and told Cal he'd be fine. So why not sign the kid at that point? You have a valid point on the Enes Kanter situation but the Skal situation is nowhere near the same.
If you read most of the reports and interviews Hamilton and his wife both had said they had done nothing wrong. The one big question was the Hamilton question to Easterwood when he asked How he could profit off a player. In all reports including the Easterwood interview Hamilton never said Skal Labissiere's name and there was never mentioned on how much money. There was No money trail found on Hamilton to Labissiere and family.

However, the guy has been grade A on the football board this season calling out the unrealistic douchebags.
