You are 100% correct on one thing, Izzo wouldn't turn a (to borrow a word from this board) "transcendent" recruit like Josh Jackson down if he really wanted to commit to MSU, but at the same time he also wouldn't continue recruiting him hard once his roster of scholarships was full. It's just not Izzo's style to recruit that way knowing that he'll have to Crean players off his roster who aren't bad citizens and who are still working their asses off. It's both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it shows his strong character, loyalty and values but a curse because he's still competing with other programs who have no shame in over-signing.

You can debate the subject till the cows come home but the fact of the matter remains, Tom Izzo has never once over-signed a recruiting class.

Lol. There's no point in debating this, but yes, Izzo will continue to recruit Jackson hard. What are you even talking about? So he won't recruit him hard, but he would take him if he wanted to come? Makes no sense.

Now that we have our elite sf/PF, if Bridges decides to go elsewhere, I won't be too upset. Don't get me wrong, if Bridges wants to be at UK, we will still take him and its a no brainer. I actually think these two kids would help each other on the court and make life easier on both. These kids could switch in and out every time up the court from SF to PF. I don't like our chances as much as I once did, you never know. Not going to give up all hope, just most of it.

Yea...it really showed at the final 4. I was there & their crowd was nothing compared to the other 3 schools.

Anyone can buy a jersey and root for their team at a final of any sort but I get your point. Michigan as a whole is way down as a state since I left.... :)

It makes perfect sense. If MSU gets Bridges, Jackson is a luxury recruit for Izzo in every sense of the word, and Izzo clearly knows it. He's not putting on anything close to a full court press to get Jackson like he did with Bridges and other 5 star recruits in the past, (Parker, Alexander, etc...) . He knows his roster is full. He knows that he's never over signed a recruiting class.

That said though, if Jackson came to Izzo and said coach, I want to commit to MSU, Izzo isn't an idiot. He knows that Jackson is a rare prospect and he won't turn him away. He'll somehow make it work but he's also not busting his *** and flying around the country going to Jackson's open gyms, and tournaments and basically stalking him like he normally does with his plan A superstar targets.

Probably most rabid Men's basketball followings nation-wide:

1) Kentucky
2) Duke
3) (tie) Kansas & North Carolina

After that....???????? Who knows. Maybe Syracuse 4th?

They aren't as successful as the other teams listed but I'd put Illinois up there as well. Those guys talk and debate hoops 24/7/365.

Jackson would be the top recruit Izzo has ever landed. Just because we will already have an elite class with Bridges doesn't mean Izzo doesn't really want Jackson. He is not a "luxury" recruit.

You are saying that Tom Izzo isn't going hard after Josh Jackson because he knows his roster is full and has never over signed a recruiting class? You're clueless.

Get with the picture. There's more and more transfers and early entries to the NBA every year. The odds of someone leaving MSU after next year are pretty high, and regardless, you make room for Jackson.

I don't really get what you are debating. You are saying Izzo would take Jackson, but you say he isn't giving him the full court press because he knows his roster is full? Lol. How would Izzo take Jackson if his roster is full? You said he doesn't do that. BTW, Izzo has recruited Jackson and watched him play numerous times. He was just out in California the other day. It's a little easier to visit recruits more often when they are in Michigan, Indiana, and Chicago than it is California.

Why don't you 2 losers go back to your own board?

Coach Cal loves to double up on recruits when he takes commitments. I expect this guy to shock and pick UK. This would shut everybody up about recruiting BELIEVE THAT!

To me, Bridges was only a significant loss to UK if he would'nt have scared Gabriel off and we would've had both. If it's one or the other, I don't think it matters as they're both around the same range as a prospect.

I like Tom Izzo. He's a GREAT coach. He does the most with the least so I'm not concerned if he gets a top class. Sometimes a system doesn't fit the players and that's why Cal is successful with top players because he adapts to them. Richardson and Randolph were two great players but in my opinion weren't fully utilized in college. Same will happy with Bridges, Jackson, et al. Izzo's bread and butter is with moldable 4 star players with an occasional 5 star.
