I'd go with the 76ers having the better supporting cast. Had Mutombo, still highly productive even at 34 and is a hall of famer.

I'm super glad we are now comparing GSW to the '01 Lakers with Kobe and Shaq, top-5/top-15 players of all time, each dropping almost 30 pt/g for the season. Can't wait till tomorrow where we start comparing GSW to the '92 dream team.
Are you kidding? Eric Snow, Aaron Mckie, Tyrone Hill, Raja Bell and Mutombo are better than any of the other starters the Cavs had last night...maybe other than Mosgov(sp?).
MJ's signature move was a fadeaway. He faded away all the time. Lebron did handle Iggy. He scored most of his points on him. Do you think Lebron didn't do his best? Do you think MJ could have won the finals with the same roster?
I totally get what you're saying about Lebron. I find myself getting mad when he doesn't just get it and go in the post. I just don't think we can grade Lebron on the old scale of greatness, at least this year. He did everything he could do and I think we are undervaluing just how tired he was. I think next year we will really be able to see what his legacy will be.
This is as bad as people making every Colt or Bronco loss to be the fault of Peyton Manning, when he's on the field for 40% of the snaps. At least in basketball LJ is on the court for both offense and defense. But that doesn't account for the other players on his team. I loved Jordan, but how many rings did he get without Pippen (voted one of the best 50 players of all time) and Phil Jackson (voted best coach of all time)?

It always bugged me in the "Player vs Player" debate that people RARELY brought up coaching. Now, true to form, NBA is probably last in all sports for influence of coaching. Jordan was going to win games regardless. But how many more titles do Lebron/Manning get with HOF coaching? How many less titles do Jordan/Brady get without Jackson/Belichick? Even worse, how does Jordan fair with Blatt and Spoelstra at the helm. Coaching is worth way more than people think, and it has nothing to with Lebron or Jordan.. that coach is responsible for all players. A HOF coach will make the entire squad better.
Deeper. 2001 Kobe/Shaq though were arguably the best 1-2 punch in the history of the game.
If GS had tried to play small ball, Shaq would have put up 40/20 per night.
He's also using two players that have each other versus Lebron by himself, the fact that Kobe had Shaq and Shaq had Kobe makes that argument moot.
I said best team was the 2000 Lakers, not best playoff run. Obviously that is 2001. In fact, 2002, 2009 and 2010 all lost less playoff games than 2000 (albeit 7, and 7 for 09, 10 vs. 8 for 2000). I just meant purely the best team I'd rate the Lakers in 2000, with 82 wins overall.
The best stretch of basketball those Lakers ever played was in the 2001 playoffs. So that was the best team, imo. They just weren't the best for an 82 game stretch.
You people who think this GSW team, that just needed SIX games to dispose of Lebron and a bunch of guys who wouldnt be taken in the top 100 of an NBA redraft right now, could have beaten Shaq AND Kobe in their primes?

I'll take your word for it, as I can't very well recall that Philly team. But if true - man, they must've been terrible. In the Finals when LJ was on the bench, Cleveland scored 54 points per 100 possessions. The league low for the year was 93. Just awful....
