You don't replace a guy who struggled because he was new to the NBA with a guy who isn't proven at the NBA level.

Honestly, Blatt has been very good for the Cavs this year once the roster was improved and everyone found their role. That guy can coach. He'll get more than one year, as he should, but even if they dropped him, they aren't betting LeBron's last 4-5 dominant years on a college coach.

I doubt it'd be anyone's decision BUT LeBron's, however. He would be the first person they consult and if he says I want THIS guy, that's who they'd go and (try to) get. I doubt it'd be Cal, but what LeBron wants, LeBron gets.

Even if they do fire him, the Cavs are far from a sure bet / dream job for any prospective coach. It's a sketchy situation with LeBron in decline (relatively) and the uncertainty of the roster in the next few years.

I'm not sure they'll be able to pull in any top free agents going forward. I don't think the allure of playing with LeBron is what it once was to the top talent in the league....and he's going to need more help than Irving.

Agree completely. But if he wanted to play for John Calipari, Cal would have coached the Heat after LeBron's first season there, or would have let him know he was going home last offseason when Cal was contacted about the Cleveland job.

The link between them was Leon Rose and CAA, and LeBron left the agency like three years ago. That, and the Wes ties, along with both guys' willingness to be public friends with mutually beneficial people, isn't enough to make LeBron wager this homecoming on a college coach.

I mean, if Brian Shaw wasn't hired by the Lakers and Kevin Ollie didn't get the OKC job, these megastars aren't handpicking their guy nearly as much as everyone seems to think.

Yup. And Love is probably going to leave for LA to be the guy there, and I honestly do not blame him. So I want to see if Lebron can win it with just one other good player for once. The Cavs will still have a very solid team around irving and Lebron.

I don't see how he doesn't get another year with the Love injury. But the make up of that team needs to change if the Cavs are to be real contenders. I still think Kyrie is a bad fit, and a good, yet, overrated player.

If Blatt does get fired, which in no way he should, the job is Tyronn Lue's. No sense in worrying over Cal to Cleveland. Like someone else said, Chicago is much more of a factor IMHO.
