When he said 1 maybe 2 that these last remaining 5 star recruits wasn't buying what he was selling. I hope this is the exception not the rule, or maybe he needs to change his sales pitch?

This class is really weak and maybe most of them know that you can't hide at Kentucky. Spotlight burns bright and it explains why Brown went to Cal.

Keep going back to statement Biancardi made recently. You go to a big program like UK you get a lot of exposure, but you also risk getting exposed. If you look at guys like that Australian PG who got drafted last year and Mudiay this year, not being seen a lot has become kind of an advantage. This is especially going to be the case when the class is particularly weak because you are competing against other classes in the draft too. So when you have a bunch of alphas in a class, they won't shy away from UK. When you get a bunch of betas like this year's class, you never know.

I look at this recruiting class as an aberration. I wouldn't do much changing in the way I recruit based on one class.

My only real concern with next year's team is that one explosive offensive player. I'm clinging to the hope we get Murray to be that guy, but if not...let the chips fall where they may, will be a fun season to watch the team develop.

Cal's recruiting is fine. This class is just full of a bunch of "Selfish mother...." uh I forget the rest, but that Cal quote applies to this year's class more than most it seems. They want to be the man, which is fine, and that has hurt UK. People say "well we lost 7 guys, they can be the man here" but all they see is Briscoe and Skal already here, with a solid senior Poy, Ulis at the guard spot, etc. The fact that we do not have a real 3 on the roster though is the one thing that puzzles me but Ingram was never coming out of NC, and Brown's recruiting was weird, borderline dirty with how it turned out IMO, so sucks but not shocking.

Let's not forget he'd already signed a darn good class in the Fall. There are lot's of questions about next year's team, but one thing we know is Cal actually prefers a 6-8 man rotation. The BS that was put out there about going to UK means playing in a platoon system is just that. We're going to lose some games, but hopefully the team comes around late in the year ala 2011, and still makes some noise next March. And I for one will be glad to be done with the 40-0 talk.

People it's the number #2 class in America. We bring back 3 McDonald's all Americans who have played in a final 4. Calm down.

^ This. The negatives around this years class is either coming from those who should not play with matches or that part of the fan base our coach calls CRAZY. The #2 Class in America and they are never satisfied, they would have had a heart attack in some years I have witnessed here. Go CATS !!!!!!!!

Our recruiting class is excellent. Again. Labissiere is the most interesting recruit in the country, and the other 3 guys are really good too. The only problem is that we don't yet have enough players on next year's roster. The math is easy to understand. We lost 7, and then brought in 4 to replace them. Our starting lineup will be very good. But we don't have enough players for physical practices and covering injuries. That's the problem. Recruiting isn't the problem.

. If those kids didnt want to come play for the best program in the country, then we're better off without em. Lets see what we can do with the guys that do want to be here.

Long time follower, but my first post. I am looking forward to a great season. A chance for Willis, Lee, and Hawkins to get their chance. Either up, or down, I remain a Wildcat fan. And i absolutely loathe Looserville !

You are forgetting that we had people return last year...we were so loaded we had two teams. Stands to reason we'd have more leave than coming in.

Welcome to the board winnychester. I like our roster this year, we'll have great guard play with Ulis, Briscoe and Mulder. I like Matthews and I think he'll do very well for us. The one thing I do worry about is depth with our bigs.

I think for the most part it's not disappointment in who is coming in but the fact that 7 future NBA players are gone and only 4 guys are replacing them. Of those only one is a sure fire future NBA player(Skal) and another almost sure fire in Briscoe.

our coach landed the number 1 player in the nation. his sales pitch is just fine. our fans base just has too many stupid people in it.
Nope. We have very knowledgeable and incredibly passionate fans. If you read message boards and Twitter and consider some of those jackasses as the norm you are correct. But the reality is the vast majority of fans are intelligent and understand what Cal has done here, and appreciate it. Let's not live in a cat paw, Twitter world when judging our or for that matter most fan bases. If you do your just as stupid as you claim our fan base is.

This is my main concern as well: depth we NEED when the inevitable foul trouble arises on the front line. I LOVE the guys we have, but the reality is that points are not going to be plentiful, IMHO. It goes without saying that Willis, Hawkins and Lee MUST step up.

As others have pointed out, next season won't feature any dominant teams; overall, parity should be the norm, and that gives any good team a shot in March.
