Notice my original post was about crossings. Attention to detail is very important. It’s no wonder you think crossings are down because asylum seekers are afraid to come. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard lol.
25min to come up with a response after your original reply? smh you hate to see that kind of lag.

I wasn't responding to your original post - I was just providing you with facts. Not everyone who crosses the border got expelled, mainly because people were allowed to request asylum. Counting total crossings is asinine because it lumps asylum seekers in with everyone else.

I’m sorry I don’t spend my day waiting on replies on TI. Haven’t you heard. I pay 50% in taxes so I have to work much more than all the brilliant libs on here. What a weird response. Carry on

I love the sales rep and night shift security guard trying to explain to multiple lawyers what the law is.

Just incredible.
I love that you’re a trained lawyer and can’t get your giant brain around Expedited Removal. Your parents and partners must be proud. lol. That reply only took one minute boss. I also love the pretentious and elitist personal attacks on people’s careers. You’re so cool.

I've read your posts, unfortunately. You've brought up expedited removal multiple times and it has zero bearing on any of the cases discussed itt. People are trying to educate you in here so that you don't end up spreading nonsense irl.

And yeah, I don't disagree - I'm a moron, I just happen to understand this topic more than a layman.

I wasn't mocking anyone's careers. I was pointing out the stupidity of y'all arguing with people in those specific fields. You don't see me arguing with fastball about daytrading? You don't see me arguing with Iceheart about election security? LISTEN to people who work in specific fields so you can educate yourself more than just reading some random ******** on twitter.

This isn’t mocking a persons career??? It’s an insinuation that those professions aren’t worthy of having opinions. That’s mocking in its essence. I know it’s natural for lawyers to lie but geez this is your own post:

Is your stance that because I’m not a lawyer I’m not allowed to ask questions or form an opinion? I’m not arguing either. I’m simply trying to make the correct point, that not every person in the US is granted due process after multiple posters claimed over and over that it was. That’s completely relevant. I didn’t get that from twitter. I did my own research because I’m very interested in how we are processing these people. I thought it strange to give constitutional protection to someone that broke the law to be here and all that you and your liberal friends have done is ridicule me for researching and bringing up a valid point and a law that’s been in the books for 30 years that contradicts your claims. You have made countless baseless accusations towards me and I’ve called you out.

I am going to weigh in again on this. Not replying to anyone specifically, just want to get a feel for where people stand on this.

1. Should we deport illegals, yes or no?
2. If yes, do you think it is even possible to give them all due process? And before you answer this question, consider this.
There are an estimated 15M illegals in the country. If each has a 1 hour due process court proceeding that is 15M hours. Divide 15M by 24 hours and you get 625,000 days, 625,000 days divided by 365 days (1 year) and you get 1,712 years of court time. Even if you had 500 judges doing this 24 hours a day it would take 300+ years.
3. If you answered yes and want to give them due process, can you at least acknowledge that is not feasible?
4. If you answered no, then I guess we know that you are onboard with Biden's plans to import and give citizenship to illegals. I know many of you say asylum, asylum, asylum, but lets be honest and recognize that nothing like what happened under Biden had ever happened before. In my opinion, It was planned and executed.

This is going to sound strange but one thing I’ve noticed in just a few weeks is how much differently people with children and families view the world vs people that are single, it seems that the liberals here are single and the most outspoken on this board meet that criteria. Could the dynamic of only caring about yourself and not concerning yourself with others be related to being alone? Meaning in this context, they don’t have a child or spouse that’s vulnerable, that they want to protect, a life they’re responsible for. That causes a rift between them and the people that do have those things, as a husband and father my family is my number one priority. You don’t have that as a 45 year old single guy. So advocating for every Tom dick and harry to come into our nation and go to our schools and drive on our streets with zero vetting is concerning.
A sub category is white men who grew up without a father in the home. They absolutely believe the government should blow our noses for us.

It's a statement that nonprofessionals shouldn't be arguing with professionals on a topic they don't understand. It's not mocking their careers.

The problem with expedited removal is that it was expanded this year to broadly increase its scope, so it's massively different than what was originally proposed in 1996. The SC hasn't made a ruling on this recent change, so we don't know if it will remain "legal." Due Process is afforded to all persons in the US, but the SC ruled 5 years ago that the original iteration of ER didn't violate the 4th amendment.

Are yall starting to see that we left the constitution behind a long time ago? I think it started with Abe Lincoln. Here are some things to start:

1. Congress declaring war
2. Only Congress can raise and support armies
3. Treaties requiring Senate approval
4. States maintaining militias
5. Electors exercising independent judgment
6. Congress controlling interstate commerce
7. Regular use of the impeachment process
8. Congress controlling coinage in only gold and silver

Holy ****, that’s how I thought this board would work. Now isn’t that much cooler than calling me names and trying to disparage me. This is a very good response. What specific plans did the administration take to expand ER? I haven’t read that and am curious. Thank you.
And it appears I was right all along, not to gloat, just for those keeping score. Not everyone is given due process. Upheld by the SC.

1. Yes.
2. Yes, it is possible. We have 73 immigration courts and adjudication centers currently active in the US, but we would need to expand that amount.
3. It would take time, but it's something that we as a country could and should facilitate.

Let’s follow you logic, tell me your opinion on trans men in women’s sports or allowing children to transition. Oh you can’t. You weren’t an athlete and you’re not a parent. Sure, I don't care about trans men/women in sports. I think that the current transitioning policy for minors is sound - 6 months of psychological review is required, along with both parents consenting, before any kind of hormone therapy can be provided to the minor. Considering the drop in suicide rates amongst teens I think it's been beneficial. I don't think, as it pertains to this discussion, athletes and parents, are the "experts" whose opinion matters. It would be psychological professionals and medical health experts.

Hell you could end the entire debate with the 2nd amendment. Any regulation or registration could be seen as infringement and therefore unconstitutional.

I was with you til the end. You cannot take parents rights and replace them with “experts”. That’s not how that works. Kinda like the experts wanted blanket vaccinations during COVID and they were dead wrong. But even following your logic you still have no right to an opinion as you aren’t an expert. Who determines expertise?

Stop being so sensitive. The original ER law stated that it was only applicable to individuals within 100miles of the border and who had been in the US for <14 days. It was expanded Jan 25, 2025 to anywhere in the US and a <2 year window.

SC said the ORIGINAL LAW WASN'T A VIOLATION OF DUE PROCESS. Not the expanded ruling from this year. Ruling that something does not violate due process is not the same as saying not everyone is given due process, fyi.

Not all parents are an expert in the medical field. Plenty of parents are dipshits that get their children killed due to their stupidity and negligence - see each parent in west Texas whose children have died from measles this year.

Regardless, minors can't get hormone therapy or gender affirming care without consent from both parents, so their input is considered and required.

So the only change that was implemented was the amount of time passed for ER to remain lawful. That most likely holds up.

Right. Plenty of experts are dipshits too, Fauci is an expert supposedly but he’s a liar. And not all medical experts are experts in children. There’s plenty of experts on both sides of this. Which one is right? Who decides? My opinion is parents decide.

Seems like common sense. Why should we hamstring our immigration officers by making it more difficult to apprehend law breakers. That’s as common sense as it gets. Oh you can break the law and enter illegally as long as you can sneak inside 100 miles. What are we doing, playing illegal immigrant amazing race? That’s nuts.

That's your prerogative.

Regarding your second paragraph - because it's easier for innocent people to get rounded up and sent off. If you don't have a piece of documentation on your person showing that you've been in the US >2 years, or proving that you're there legally you run the risk of being deported without a potential hearing to prove your innocence. Similar to what happened to Abrego being rounded up because he was sitting outside an Ikea while wearing a Chicago Bulls hat and being accused of being a gang member despite annual check-ins with ICE for 6 years showing nothing of the sort.

Ok but serious question. I think I read that guy had been in the US since 2014. How has he been here that long and not have any documentation? Is that accurate? I may be thinking of a different instance. How’d a person live here for 11 years with no ID or anything?

Also anytime I hear, “trust the experts”, I become super cynical and skeptical and distrusting. How about give me the uncensored data and let me determine the best course of action for me. Experts gave us Covid, Iraq WMD and global warming. All huge lies. Gore had the ice caps melting by now. lol.

He came in 2011 when he was 15 or 16. He married a US citizen and had applied for asylum, and was awarded a work permit from ICE. The work permit he was given by ICE doubles as an ID.

Ok, help me understand how this happened then. It seems like if he showed that permit he should be fine correct? That seems like a very cut and dry situation. That's what everyone is up in arms about. It SHOULDN'T have happened, but it did. It's why the SC ruled 9-0 he needed to be brought back, and the administration admitted they ****** up but won't do anything. He's probably dead in the prison and that's why the administration, and Bukelele, refuse to comply with the SC.

ICE stopped him after he left work and picked up his son from his grandmother's house. They told him his immigration status changed and then sent him to a detainment center in Texas as part of that big El Salvador plane photo op last month. His wife filed a lawsuit which made its way up to the SC who eventually ruled in her favor. The administration admitted it ****** up, but refuse to facilitate his return, which is why the DoJ was just held in contempt of court yesterday.

It's theorized the reason El Salvador and the admin won't/can't return Abrego is because he's dead. CECOT is essentially a death camp, and he was housed with the same gang that threatened his life back in 2011 which led to his flight to the US.

That’s troubling to say the least. I would think both sides could learn something here. That should never happen but quite frankly we shouldn’t have ever been in a position where ICE is charged with rounding up millions of people that aren’t supposed to be here. It’s tragic all around.

Edit: im not excusing anything. Just making an observation as to how we got to that point.
