My main objective is for Biden/Harris not to be the next potus. I will vote for whoever has the best chance to defeat him. I hope that is not trump, but I will be surprised if it's not.

Gas, food, power, etc all significantly higher under Biden - in large part due to inflation from out of control govt spending. This hurts everyone, but has the most impact on the least fortunate and lower incomes - which just happens to be minorities. Also, no surprise real wages are down ~7% from when Biden took over.
Bidenomics is a disaster.

Bidenomics caused higher inflation around the world? How does your ego survive at that size?

Why are you ignoring that everything is getting better?
Why are you ignoring that we're doing better than just about every other industrialized country?
How do you know things would have been better under Trump when they were much worse under Trump when Biden took over?
Trump also wasn't fiscally responsible and wanted bigger COVID checks than were sent out so what would have been different?
Why are you a disingenuous partisan loser?

Well when gas prices go to $4+/gal, inflation is the highest in decades, etc - where is there to go but up?

I am not a trump fan, so I whole heartedly agree he spent way too much $$$. Still his spending would be less than Joe - particularly with a pub congress.

As for your article: In the 12 months under trump prior to covid UE ranged from 3.5 to 3.8 with only one month at 4 or over in the 20 months leading up covid. This was also with a higher labor participation rate, btw. So lets not pretend this is some unprecedented span of unemployment. Given the choice, I'll take a .1% or .2% increase in ue with a higher labor participation rate.

Decades ago, I used to be member of the national and SC llibertarian party. When questioned or accused of "throwing away my vote" on 3rd party candidates, the flippant response was always "I'd rather vote for what I want and not get it, than vote for what I don't want and get it. I don't think we have the luxury to do that now with the repercussions that can come from it. Imo.
I wrote in Ron Paul both elections that Obama won.

JOETUS the manufacturing God

Bow before your new king

Good news for America but just so we are clear.......industrial capex is up almost 40% so it's closer to $114b. Also, we just pumped north of $2T into infrastructure bill, build back better, inflation reduction act etc so you'd expect to see some of that flow into manufacturing as a direct result from demand.

Here's the real kicker though, most of that $189B is foreign investment. That's the fine print they aren't telling you in the article. So after $4t of govt spend since 2021, foreign entities are building factories in America.

From a recent Bank of America Private Bank write up:

Foreign direct investment has played a significant role in this, as many multinational corporations are eager to establish large-scale facilities in the United States. Quinlan stated that investment in the U.S. has truly captured the world’s attention, and when talking to companies from South Korea, Japan, and Europe, their focus is on establishing operations in the United States. He estimates that this trend will continue into the latter half of the 2020s.

Just to get a sense of the cost.......The initial investment to build Intel in Ohio was $20B with estimated total cost to build of $100b. Most major manufacturing plants will be of similar cost and investment.

Maybe the relationship could be repaired if you'd be honest and admit that things really aren't that bad - at all. Think about it.
I don't think YOU actually believe that. It's just your TDS talking. Curious.....do you have a person in mind to lead our country, regardless of their chances to win? Tell me why. Forgive me if you've informed us all of this earlier. I miss some things.

I don't understand you Ken - why wouldn't I believe that? I'm gainfully employed, I'm financially secure and my income has risen faster than the rate of inflation. I enjoy my life and can do pretty much what I want. I've been to Europe several times in the last few years, Mexico twice, NY and other state-side trips as well. The economy is blazing, we've had a long period of sustained low unemployment, despite the Fed doing everything in their power to make it worse and the rate of inflation is quickly falling. Whether or not you like him, Biden has had quite a few outstanding accomplishments that will help all citizens for many years to come - even the Republicans who hate him are touting the benefits their states are receiving due to some of his signature bills.

Why wouldn't I have TDS? He's a madman who tried to destroy the foundations of our government and has promised to do things that are even worse if he gets re-elected. The question is why don't YOU have TDS? He has no interest in governing or making things better for the average citizen.

I've given my thoughts several times on who I'd like to see run but if I could have my pick, my favorite would be Mark Cuban. There are others I like as well but I think he's about as solid as they come, IMO.

Lots of first person point of view, and I don't doubt it. I'm sure you worked hard to achieve your spot in life right now. America is a lot more than its economy. Forget Trump. What was wrong with the America that raised you, the one that afforded you the OPPORTUNITY to achieve as you have? Assuming you're over 40. I suppose you had some real problems with it, then Trump sent you into oblivion. Just thinking.(probably shouldn't)

Not sure I understand what you're asking but in my opinion Trump is the worst thing that has ever happened to this country and it's not close. He's hateful, corrupt and divisive. He doesn't respect our institutions or the Constitution. He's a twice impeached, multiple indicted scar on this country and our allies hate him and are afraid to work with us too closely for fear of his return. He has turned 10s of millions of regular Americans into conspiracy believing, fact-denying syncophants that worship him for no other reason than he will torture their perceived enemies. You may think that's great - I don't.

This article has good insight into why trump will be the republican candidate… the evangelical vote.

They truly believe that he is some biblical figure. This is why he uses the verbiage “they are coming for you, I am just in the way.”

It’s like trump said years ago, “I could shoot someone in fifth avenue and I would lose a vote.”

Sad!

I will truly never understand this. The only thing that makes sense it me is that they are like @Willence and are basically Anti abortion voters.

Trump is literally faking being a Christian, and really insultingly so. I am extremely offended by his false Christianity, but probably moreso by the Mental Gymnastics Christians are using to support Donald Trump.

No, that would be terrible. I just don't think like you. I think that most of what you are saying is extreme hyperbole or simply untrue. He finally poured a foundation on which to base relationships with allies as well as those countries who oppose us. He was pro America and stood his ground. He was trying to build this country up rather than tearing it down, which is happening today. He valued the American citizen and what it meant to become an American. I concentrated on what was happening in the oval office rather than outside. His past life and personal failures mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to his job performance. The indoctrinated liberal media has poisoned minds into believing the lies and distortions about Mr. Trump to the degree of turning it into a mental illness. I wouldn't want my grandchildren to adopt the negative features of his personality, for sure, but I'm proud of his effort to drain the Washington swamp as an unabated, uncontrolled proponent of the American people.

Nothing you wrote is factual. I know there's no use in debating. Trump is a religion. Meaning no matter what evidence is presented, you're not going to believe it. You're going to believe despite the preponderance of evidence that says otherwise.

What a jaundiced lens you have. My opinion of him has nothing to do with his past life or the media.

I saw him lying through his teeth firsthand every time he was on TV. I read his tweets where every single day he attacked me and 55% of the population with venom and more lies. I saw friendships and family ties get destroyed because of his divisiveness. I can promise you, I never felt valued by him EVER. He made it clear I was his enemy and he never let up on attacking me. Is that what a good President should do?

I saw him incompetently manage a pandemic because he was more concerned about his re-election than the safety of American citizens.

He did not build this country up, he conversely tore it apart by being more interested in his own power than the needs of the average citizen.

He did not drain the swamp, but instead made it worse.

He tried to destroy our democracy with his deranged attempt to ignore the will of the people to corruptly stay in power.

He left in disgrace but we're the indoctrinated ones? Ken, please clean your glasses, your vision is blurry.

So was Trump such a weak president that he shut down the economy because others told him too? Others forced him to give massive stimulus checks? You do realize all of this happened during his term right?

The mental gymnastics you guys do to try to blame others for him just flat being an awful public servant is laughable.

The President is not a God. Trump appropriately listened to his advisors at the beginning when there was still a lot of unknowns. Listening to your advisors is now weak? Do you think Joe Biden even has any thoughts of his own? Make no mistake the left was pushing for masks, lockdowns, and all the other garbage. And the mental gymnastics you do to make things a certain way is also laughable. The president did not shut down the economy. President does not have that power. I know Trump says that he did but he did not. That was the decision made by governors in each state and then the federal government supported the action.

The recommendation came from people at higher levels of our healthcare cartel. Time has shown that they were wrong in almost every way imaginable and we also now have verification that they engaged in character assassination campaigns to keep down any alternative opinions that would have served this nation and the world very well.

All that being said, Trump was a horrible president during the pandemic. He literally picked the wrong path in every single way imaginable. He botched this in every way you could possibly imagine. Any Monday morning quarterbacking saying otherwise is just wrong.

Please stop linking my name with patently false statements about me. Not sure why lying and distortion has become your go-to tactic but it is rather unseemly. Especially when you use it to try to cast judgment on Christians who may support President Trump. My goodness, you stand in opposition to God's Word in so many areas is hard to know where to begin. As Jesus said, don't take the twig out of your neighbor's eye when there is a log in yours.

Also, implied in the way you say things is that that the other side is this perfectly decent and Christian representation. There is none of that in politics. There are a lot of ignorant people who do think Trump is some kind of a savior. There's no denying that but lumping me in with that crap is ridiculous. I'm not part of that cult nor will I ever be. I think for myself.

I am for the cause of life not anti-abortion. Even in that regard you try to distort things to present an image slanted in one direction as opposed to the other. No matter what you think of abortion, the process ends a life. Therefore at the end of the day it is about life and the destruction of life. I support life.

What exactly is Biden doing to "tear this country down"?

The infrastructure bill that trump failed to pass but Biden passed?

I can't believe we have to re-litigate COVID with you turnips again, but from the very beginning, he screwed the response by dismantling the pandemic response team in China, ignoring the pandemic playbook that Obama left, we know from Woodward's interview that he knew how deadly it was yet he kept it under wraps for fear the stock market would tumble and affect his re-election chances. His messaging was god-awful from saying it will disappear in April, to saying he wouldn't wear a mask, to pumping HCQ, which was useless, to suggesting injecting disinfectant and shining a light up your ***. He kept his super spreader rallies going, which killed Herman Cain among many others and mocked the experts. He did one good thing and that was Operation Warpspeed and of course that's the one thing magats won't give him credit for. And he almost screwed that up by not having a distribution plan other than dropping it off to the states with no guidance or logistical support.

So you're damn wrong that Biden wouldn't have done better than that. And once he got into office, it was amazing how quickly he was able to get the vaccine to within arms reach of every American. You might not have liked the mandates but I guarantee you they saved many lives and that was the point.

Trump was the worst possible person we could have had in charge during that period so thank god he got voted out so the adults could fix his abominable disaster.

I probably shouldn't have linked you to that and I apologize. Honestly question and I truly don't know, did you vote for Trump the last 2 elections? If you did, how did you reconcile his False Christianity?

I have never viewed him as anything but a self serving, profoundly dishonest moral leper. We are not a theocracy. There are numerous theocratic types on the right. They are not generally good folks. I don't want my faith or any other being forced on people through politics. We, as a people need to choose the morality of our society. We cannot have it forced on us by government. The only way to a better world is to choose to follow God's word. Any people who want to force that on others are acting in opposition to God's word. For it is He that gave us free will.

And see, we found some common ground lol

I understand the economy just fine, thanks. Took every undergrad econ course Clemson offered for fun, even though it was not my major. Only lacked foreign language to get my bachelors in Econ.
Did you? Doesn't seem so by your posts.
